I recently saw someone point out that it wasn’t Marvel Studios that fired Gunn, nor was it Walt Disney Pictures, the parent company of Marvel Studios. It was the Walt Disney Company, which is the parent company of Walt Disney Pictures.

If it was either of the first two, I’d say Gunn had a shot at reinstatement, but it being the uppermost level of Disney’s corporate structure makes me thing it’s all but impossible.

I’d really love to hear Feige weigh in on the situation, but I’m being he’ll keep his mouth shut about it for a long time.

WAV is uncompressed, DTS is compressed to ~1500kbps. Theoretically, the WAV would have better audio quality, but I honestly doubt the average person could hear a difference.

For the record, I was never able to get the 5.1 WAV to work either, but the DTS track I made muxes just fine.

Oh man, you’re in for a treat! Sandman is amazing. Volume 4 (“Season of Mists”) and Volume 7 (“Brief Lives”) are my favorites, but they’re all great.

Mala/HAL: I’d be willing to do DTS encodes of these alternate audio tracks like I did for the primaries if you’re interested. I’ll need each of the 6 channels as a separate mono WAV or AIFF file in order to do so, though (never had any success without a few glaringly unacceptable flaws when starting with a 5.1 track).

Can’t promise how quick the turnaround will be (it took me something like a week to finally find the time to sit down and make the DTS for TFA:R), but I am certainly willing to do it.

FYI, I finally found the time to finish a DTS encode of the audio for v2.1, using the same software I used for the DTS tracks included with HAL’s PT v5 and TLJ: Legendary, and sent it off to HAL.

As long as everything checks out on his end, it should be made available very soon, bringing TFA:R v2.1 in line with the current iterations of the rest of HAL’s edits insofar as audio options go.

Now I’ve just gotta find time to watch the final release of TLJ: Legendary…

Goddammit. Just do a sequel. Ignore the “canon” comics and do a series focusing on one of the activated Slayers (or a group of them) from the last season of the show. Original cast members can pop up now and again if desired, but you can do so much with the way the last season left things open - you could start fresh with an entirely new cast and it wouldn’t even require being familiar with the original series.

That or just say fuck it and do a Fray miniseries/movie.

Today is probably the shittiest day I’ve had at work in a long time. If I didn’t need a paycheck to live on or had another prospect lined up, I’d probably have walked out by now.

I’m pretty excited about this. I love (most of) seasons 3-6 of TCW, and was always bummed we never got to see the Siege of Mandalore animated. I figured if we ever got that, it’d be a TV/DVD/Netflix movie.

But holy shit - 12 new episodes?!

I just hope none of them are simply the story reel episodes fully animated. We’ve seen those already. Ditto any of the 8 Dark Disciple episodes, or the Son of Dathomir episodes. I imagine they’ll need to do some flashbacks to Son of Dathomir for Maul’s part of the Siege of Mandalore to make sense to those who haven’t read the comic, but I’ll be disappointed if they waste four (or more) of the new episodes on stuff that already exists in some form in canon.

It was one of the more talked about unproduced screenplays for years and years. Keanu Reeves spent about 5 years trying to get it made with him as the lead IIRC, but eventually let the rights go when he couldn’t get the money together. When I read it he was still involved.

EDIT: from Wikipedia: “The film was originally written in 2007 by Spaihts but was kept in development hell, with multiple actors attached throughout the years.”
