Guys, the trailer doesn’t have final color grading. It’s mostly to show off the cleanup work that’s been done, which if I’m not mistaken is also not quite done.

If it’s anything like 4K77, it’ll be ready to go in a couple weeks as far as cleanup and stuff goes, then everyone will argue about the color for six more months before it finally is released.

you forgot that we will also argue about the colors for six months after the release as well.

Yep, that too.

Is anyone else here a Big Finish listener?

I was for quite some time, but I’ve fallen off for a while. It’s rather expensive.

Did the War Doctor box sets get any better? I at least started listening to the first one, but wasn’t impressed (despite John Hurt turning in a fantastic performance). Can’t even remember if I finished the set. And I haven’t gotten the chance to check out Eight’s Time War range, or anything of his past the first or second Doom Coalition set.

Been wanting to check out some of the Ten releases, though. And I do really want to catch back up with Eight - I maintain to this day that The Chimes of Midnight and Lucie Miller/To the Death are top-5 all-time Who stories in any medium, with LM/TTD being my overall favorite Dalek story.

I’ve listened to the other Doctors here and there. Four is the one I’ve heard the least from, which makes sense as he’s the most recent addition.

Actually though I think the TIE Fighters are suppose to be suspended above the floor and fixed to the catwalk - no landing gear. TFA gets this wrong.

Is this based on anything in the movies? If not, then it’s not “wrong.”

Not to mention there’s nothing to say that the First Order didn’t make changes to the way their TIE fighters docked compared to the Empire’s models.

Perhaps the way I used it maybe. But I do think the term can be used in a way that doesn’t imply that it should be fought against.

It really can’t in this context.

Remember an agenda isn’t always bad.

Again, context. No one uses phrases like “feminist agenda” or “gay agenda” in any other context than antagonistic toward the group with said “agenda.”

I need to think about it. I will say this: too many commercials, way too many commercials. It seemed like every third minute they broke for commercials.

Yeah, that’s why I’m not watching on BBCA anymore. I’m waiting for Amazon Prime’s download the next day. Or trying my hand at the BBC’s live stream through my VPN if I’m at home.

and the typical Doctor Who formula always seems a little childish to me.

You do realize that it originated as a children’s/family type show, right?

Sure, but that doesn’t mean the series can’t mature with the times, which I’d argue it has.

I’d also argue that the S11 premiere was the most adult it’s been in a long time, though, so I’ve gotta disagree somewhat with dahmage’s assessment of the episode feeling childish.

Did anyone notice that the Doctor was wearing an earring at the end of the episode? When did she pierce her ear? Did she regenerate with the piercings? Not complaining, just fun to point out little things like that.

I did not notice that. Are you sure her ear was pierced? Aren’t there earrings that work without a hole in the ear?

There are, but it was.

However, the Third Doctor suddenly had a tattoo after regenerating from the Second Doctor, and I believe there’s been at least one Doctor that had scars the previous Doctor didn’t display (like Smith if I’m not mistaken).

So there’s some precedent for cosmetic differences through regeneration such as pierced ears.

Also I can’t recall exactly, but don’t feel like looking it up - but didn’t Capaldi have pierced ears (or at least one), he just never wore any ear jewelry on the show? It wouldn’t be out of character for Capaldi, who was something of a rocker and a rebel in his youth.

That was one thing I was glad of. The less they draw attention to it the better.

I was glad of that also. There will be time this new season to address it occasionally if it works with the story

Yep, exactly this. And I’m sure it will pop up here and there.

but no need to make it a plot point the way I suspect Moffat would have. Moffat’s not really a less is more guy.

Although I quite liked the majority of Moffat’s run, I can’t deny this at all, and I’m kinda glad we didn’t get the first female Doctor under him.

Phantom Menace '99 - HD Theatrical Version by Chewielewis (a WIP)

The DTS would have less compression, if I’m not mistaken. And again, to me it’s preferable for consistency with Schorman’s theatrical ROTS and the fact that pretty much every theatrical restoration for which cinema DTS is available uses that track as the primary.

SDDS would be interesting. I honestly don’t know if that one’s floating around anywhere, or if the community has a way of utilizing such a track if it were.
