It's official...
Time
Okay. This is the one and ONLY time I will EVER get into a political argument on this or any forum. It is the only time I will post my thoughts on this.

First, Bush is a fucking moron. We need a President who can complete a simple sentence.

Second. Jimbo, abortion is NOT the only issue NOR THE MOST IMPORTANT in the world....

(I edited it because Jimbo completely missed my point. And I did promise never to post again in a political debate.)

Movie Editing
Time
First, the Japanese version has the HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES fight in full color. Second it has a few added shots in HOBL, and the anime sequence has some extra Japanese lines. The rip I have does have subs, but everytime I run it through VirtualDub it comes out jerky as hell....any thoughts? I can't post on Video Help until tomorrow (their damn 2-day rule)...

And Shimraa, I have no idea what it is, it was just the best one I saw at the time.

The Quotable Quote
Time
Best. Quote. Ever: My sig.

But second to that would be this exchange from PULP FICTION (apologies for the language, but it wouldn't do to censor any of Tarantino's movies):

JULES
What does Marsellus Wallace look like?

BRETT
What?

JULES
(flips table over)
What country you from?!

BRETT
Wh-what?

JULES
What ain't no country I ever heard of! They speak English in What?

BRETT
W-what?

JULES
English, motherfucker, do you speak it?

BRETT
Y-yes!

JULES
Then you know what I'm sayin'!

BRETT
Yes!

JULES
Describe what Marsellus Wallace looks like!

BRETT
W-what, I--

JULES
Say what again! Say "what" again! I dare you, I double dare you, motherfucker, say "what" one more Goddamn time!

BRETT
He's...b-black...

JULES
Go on!

BRETT
He's...bald...

JULES
Does he look like a bitch?

BRETT
Wh-what?

JULES
(Shoots Brett in the shoulder)
Does he *look* like a *bitch*?

BRETT
NO!

JULES
Then why you try to fuck 'im like a bitch, Brett?

BRETT
I didn't--

JULES
Yes you did, Brett, yes-you-did! You tried to fuck 'im. And Marsellus Wallace don't like to be fucked by anybody except Mrs. Wallace.

Classic...that and this from Reservoir Dogs:

MR. BLONDE
I don't really give a good fuck what you know or don't know, but I'm gonna torture you anyways...regardless...not to get information...y'see, it's amusing to me, torture....

Aliens DVD

The ALIEN "Director's Cut" was made in 2003 even though Ridley Scott's preferred version (his true DC) is the 79 theatrical version.

ALIEN3 was put out in 93 and it was a completely ridiculously different version than what David Fincher wanted. So in 2003 some producers re-created a version as close to Fincher's version as possible, but he has disowned the film, so it does not have his stamp of approval.

ALIEN RESURRECTION was shitty in 97, and adding in all the cut scenes in 2003 for the DVD makes it worse if anything, and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's preffered version is the 97 theatrical run.

Now ALIENS, James Cameron was dissapointed in the eighty-something theatrical version (I want to say 87, but I believe it is wrong...) Around the time ALIEN3 came out he was given the opportunity to create a Director's Cut, which he opted to call the Special Edition (George Lucas anyone?). That's why the SE of Aliens says 93 or whatever when every other one is 2003 - it is the only one not specifically created for the DVD.

And don't bother sitting through Resurrection . . . still the worst film ever made. Personally I've always thought 3 was underrated, but the new "Extended" edition is MUCH MUCH MUCH better, watch that and don't turn on the deleted footage marker because there are scenes where it's nearly impossible to hear because production audio couldn't be recovered, and they weren't looped, so you need the subtitles they provide. But it's a much more complete version of the film.

I considering making a "Radio Play" version, using the radio plays for the audio, and stills from the movies/comics/etc. for the visuals. I will experiment and see if it's worth the effort, but I'm stoked about it. I believe one of the two Ashes will be providing the CD set. Thanks to either/both of you. (I'll correct this when I remember which one it is. )
That would be BadAsh; I don't even have it, though it'd be nice to.

Sounds like you've got your hands full, but I'm really looking forward to your progress, and that pre-ANH version as well.

Experiment
Time
Here's the thing. I've known her for 12 years. She insists that she won't like them, but I know that she'll watch them. I'll show her the OOT first and then if she does like them I'll show her the MF edits. My initial idea was to do an experiment with someone who's never seen Star Wars to see if they'd be turned off by watching the prequels first et cetera, et cetera.

And Bizzle ... never mind....

ST Ep. IV ANH (Picking from a Chinese Menu)
Time
Might I have a go at this, and make another suggestion?

0) STAR WARS or STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE (i.e. 1977 vs 1981)
a) 77 (SW)
b) 81 (SW: EP IV: ANH)

Not sure what your 1 is, that may be it, but anyway, here's my picks:

0: a
1: a
2: yes
3: yes
4: yes
5: a
6: Not sure what you mean by this, so A
7: b
8: a
9: a
10: a
11: a
12: no
13: a
14: a
15: a
16: a
17: a
18: no
19: a
20: a
21: b
22: a
23: a
24: a
25: a

Others you didn't put on:

Death Star Attack:
a) O-OT
b) SE
c) DVDSE

Darth Vader's Voice:
a) O-OT
b) DVDSE

Both of those would be DVDSE for me (c and b)
