Return of the Jedi - The Spence Final Cut (Released)

I understand. I'd prefer for it to be gone, but I get not wanting to fuck with the established universe too much.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be such a dick about that. The thing is, I have a mild learning disability - similar to dyslexia, but not quite - where I often mix up words with their opposites (sister/brother; most commonly it's with east and west - I lost a trivia competition in high school because I said something to the effect of Alaska being on the east coast of the continent, even though I obviously knew I was wrong).

I shouldn't have gotten that upset about you calling me on it. I don't know why I expected anyone here to know that, since I've never mentioned it.

The music heard over "Bring my shuttle" is far better than the music heard over "Alert my Star Destroyer," too.

You mean the music is better utilized over "Bring my shuttle"

No, I'm fairly certain it's a different cue, necessitated by the addition of all those pointless "flying to the Executor" shots. They're definitely both based around the Imperial March, but they're not the same cue.

That is what I meant

But you made is seem that the new music was not as good as the other, and I said no, it did not fit the scene, but it was good (its John Williams).

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. The SE cue is inferior. The original cue is better musically than the cue used in the SE.

Just because it's John Williams doesn't mean it's inherently as good as other John Williams.

This is just my personal preference, BUT...

...since you're doing a new version of your ROTS edit as well (I haven't seen your first version, but I'm intrigued), you're in a unique position to be able to remove the Leia-as-Luke's-sister plot point. Especially since you've cut Luke and Obi-Wan's conversation on Dagobah.

That was always one of my least favorite things about ROTJ - Luke's Vader's son and Leia's sister? Really? The galaxy is that small?

Just a suggestion for a change that I personally wouldn't hesitate to make, but I can understand if you want to leave it as is.

Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

I think you're confused, Harmy. The 97SE isn't the bonus disc.

The GOUT V3 and 97SE V2 are the two normal releases. The bonus release is a transfer of the pre-1993 Japanese Special Collection laserdiscs. (I think the isolated-score "Imperial Edition" of ESB is another sort of bonus disc, but that one is already available for download, IIRC.)

--edit--

Looks like you realized this before I posted. Nevahmind, then.

For those confused by the fact that Frink's Netflix DVD had no special features or chapter stops:

http://www.slashfilm.com/disney-follows-fox-in-removing-bonus-features-from-rental-dvds/

It's a thing now. My Netflix of Up had all the menus, but when went into the bonus menu to watch Partly Cloudy, when I clicked on it I got a message telling me to buy the retail DVD to watch the extra feature.

Some rental discs don't even have subtitles or closed captioning, which is very not cool if you ask me.

Off Topic Discussion About Adywan's Revisited Projects
Time

Sorry to bump this thread, but I'm not un-ignoring Ghostie-boy, so I may as well respond here:

It's called Google, dude. And Wikipedia. I know some here seem to think I know a lot about film/video because I go to school for it, and while that's partly true, the vast majority of this stuff I taught myself using the Internet even before I started going to film school. It's not that hard to find answers to the questions you've asked in the past.

Oh, and if you are Janskeet - you should know that I no longer live at the address you probably still have (indeed, I don't even live in the same state anymore). And no, I will not be giving you my current address.

Aaand now back to ignoring you.
