Third watch today. Wife insisted. I had a ridiculous lunch of Chicken strips, fries, and a grasshopper milkshake. Felt like a kid again for a few hours.

Still really, really good. 3rd best or 4th best SW movie. Yeah there’s little issues here and there but it’s a movie, to paraphrase Joel, and we all should really just relax.

8.72ish/10

Wtf I agree with Frink

It’s okay, it happens to the best of us from time to time.

Alarms spanning one hour, ten minutes apart. I’m usually up by the :40 alarm, but not always.

Pretty similar here.

I hate getting up.

In college I remember I had to put my alarm across the room so that I had to get out of bed to turn it off. Otherwise I would consistently turn it off in my sleep. This was before cell phones were a common thing.

It worked well, except once or twice I rather hurt myself getting down from the top bunk in a sleepy stupor. I usually aimed for the couch or recliner when sliding down, but at least once my foot went between the arm and the cushion, where all the metal recliner buts are. That freaking hurt.

I still occasionally sleep through my alarms.

…you and I aren’t the same person, are we?

Only one way to find out. Punch yourself in the face and I’ll see if I feel anything.

…ow.

Update/correction:

The WAV file HAL has provided with v2.1 does not open in eac3to, but does open in mkvtoolnix - after freezing the program for a few minutes.

I just clicked “multiplex” and it seems to be taking forever but working. Will update this post when it finishes (or crashes).

JEDIT: Muxing failed with mkvtoolnix.

Found my earlier post about the WAV/W64 thing - turns out I used eac3to after all, and that it actually doesn’t work in mkvtoolnix either way, but tsmuxer works fine once you have it in W64 format:

ChainsawAsh said:

Also, the PCM file is a WAV larger than 4GB, which I’m honestly not sure how you created as WAV has a 4GB limit.

I converted it to W64 using eac3to, which allows you to mux it into a Blu-Ray folder with tsmuxer. I’m making the disc now so I can’t confirm that it works, but it’s super easy to convert the WAV to W64 for anyone that wants to use the PCM track but can’t get it to work.

Download eac3to and stick it in a folder that has a relatively simple path (mine is D:\Editing\eac3to).

Do the same for the PCM WAV file - it might be a little easier to rename it, too. I renamed it to TFA.wav.

Open up your command prompt and type in the eac3to directory, then the original WAV, then the new .w64, and hit enter and let it run.

For example, here’s what I typed into command prompt:

 D:\Editing\eac3to\eac3to.exe D:\TFA.wav D:\TFA.w64

Basically, the syntax is, first point it to eac3to, then point it to the input file, then designate the output file.

Then you should be able to load the PCM into tsmuxer with no issues.

For some reason, mkvtoolnix can’t see the .w64 and won’t open the .WAV, but you can probably mux it in tsmuxer then remux it back into an MKV with mkvtoolnix once the .w64 is part of an m2ts instead of on its own.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

I’ve sold my set when money was tight (along with the bulk of my movie collection at the time) and rebought it a couple years later, and it’s not like I got rid of all my edits and Despecialized during the time I didn’t have it.

Then again, I didn’t go around telling everyone I didn’t have the set anymore during that period, either, so…

Yes, it too is located within the Google Drive folder linked to on the ‘red… it’ site. It’s a .wav file, as pure of an output as I can provide.

Thank you so much Hal!

Collipso, would you be so kind and help me out with the audio track muxing? Do I need to convert the .wav to some other extension (PCM?) you talked about earlier?

It needs to be .w64 to load in mkvtoolnix - I can’t 100% remember how I did that last time around, if I just changed the file extension or ran it through eac3to or what. I think there’s a post of mine earlier in this thread where I talked about doing that with v2.0 in more detail.

One thing i have to say since seeing the 2D presentation though is, i take back everything i said about Yoda. What the hell did they do in the 3D conversion? Did they overscrub the grain or something? Yoda, in the 3D presentations looked very smooth and almost waxy. Yet the 2D showing he looked amazing. Just like ESB Yoda. The only thing i noticed was the the puppeteer closed the mouth too tight and caused the face to squash, giving it a strange puffy look a couple of times. But that was the only thing that looked off in the 2D showing. In fact , effects wise, the whole film looked better in 2D

Have you given any thought to foxing around with that scene when the BR comes out, Ady? Maybe while you’re working on ROTJ Yoda? After my second viewing I thought pretty much the same as you, and it occurred to me that tweaking the mouth much like you did in ESB would go a long way to making him look nearly perfect.

Same. The spine logo looks a little “thin” to me for some reason I can’t quite place, too.

It is a work in progress…

Yes, I know, which is why I gave some constructive feedback so you can improve it as you work on it. If you didn’t want that kind of feedback, why post a work in progress?

I meant no offense. It’s kind of a bad habit. My apologies. I welcome the feedback. 😃

You’re fine. Sorry if I misinterpreted, it’s been a testy kind of night at work.

You should check out phildesfr’s thread - his download links include a ton of great extra stuff like vectorized logos for each film, some of which look indistinguishable from official logos (they may even be official, I dunno), as well as other assets like studio and ratings logos and various posters and promo art. It’s a great resource he’s compiled that I myself have used on my stuff.

Before this becomes a thing (invites to Blutopia)
Time

Torrents work differently than direct downloads. When you download a torrent, you’re not downloading from a site, you’re downloading from other people who’ve downloaded the file (these are “seeders” and the downloaders are “leechers”). As you download, you’re also uploading the parts you’ve downloaded to other leechers. Once you’ve finished downloading, you become a seeder. The more seeders there are, the faster a leecher can get the files, because they can download different chunks of the file from different seeders simultaneously.

The problem with public trackers (like Pirate Bay) is that most people don’t seed. They download the file, then delete the torrent - known as “hitting and running.” This means over time, it’s harder to download the file, as the number of leechers outweighs the number of seeders. Once the last seeder deletes the torrent file, the torrent is dead.

Both MySpleen and Blutopia are trackers you have to be invited to. MySpleen no longer accepts new members at all, invites are disabled. Blutopia gives you “credits” for uploading, and to invite someone you have to cash in some credits. (I think. I haven’t checked into that.)

As for the rules once you’re in, MySpleen requires that you keep your upload/download ratio at a certain level (typically at least 1.0, which means you’ve uploaded as much as you’ve downloaded). In theory, you can get to 1.0 while you’re downloading and never actually seed the completed file.

Blutopia not only has this requirement, they also require that when you download a torrent, you seed it for a full 7 days, regardless of what your ratio is on that download (so if you get to 1.0 after 2 days, you still have to keep seeding for 5 more days). This prevents hit and runs and keeps torrents healthier longer.

Hope that clears some things up. I’m typing this at work so I may have skipped some things.

Which part?

HAL said he’ll be providing the lossless audio in PCM format as a W64 file (as WAV has a file size limit). If you open the MKV in either mkvtoolnix or tsmuxer, you can add the W64 file and create a new MKV or a BDMV folder with the lossless PCM audio instead of (or in addition to) the Dolby Digital audio.

As for the other part, I can’t get any of HAL’s projects to burn to a Blu-Ray disc and play without errors in my PS4. Other people have had similar issues, but none of the proposed solutions have worked for me. I’m hopeful that the fact that I now have a standalone player (not a game console) will fix the problem for me.
