i’m pretty sure i will like it. It’s just That People have a lot of Flaws about it. So i don’t have to experience the Said Flaws by Watching a Edit. Kind of like when People want Other people to watch say. The Despecialized Editions. Other Then the 2004/2011 Editions.

And this makes no sense either. A fan edit and a preservation of the originally-released version are two completely different things.

Why would you ever choose to wait for a fan edit for a movie you haven’t seen just because some people didn’t like parts of it?! How would you know which edit to choose? Maybe the one you pick cut out a bunch of stuff you would have liked, or kept in a bunch of stuff you’re going to hate!

Watch the original version first, man. Then decide what you liked and didn’t like about it and use that to determine what edit you may or may not get. Hell, you might think it’s flawless and not get any edit of it.

He agreed with you, then linked to an example that proved the exact point you were making. Because it was a ridiculous example, he made a joke about it.

You immediately assumed that he was antagonizing you, didn’t even bother to figure out what the project in the link actually was, assumed it was a personal shot at you, and went at Frink.

When you assume someone’s always out to get you, you’ll see it all the time in their interactions, even when it’s not there. It’s not on Frink to constantly treat you with kid gloves and make sure you’re always happy.

Before TLJ released, I assumed the script was in really good hands. Rian Johnson wrote Ozymandias for Breaking Bad, one of the highest rated and most praised episodes of a series in television history.

No, he didn’t. He directed it. Moira Walley-Beckett wrote it. Rian Johnson didn’t write any of the three Breaking Bad episodes he directed. His only writing credits are his films (Brick, The Brothers Bloom, and Looper).

So you’re a fan of the walkie talkies in ET? Or just annoyed with anybody who questions such a choice?

Are you talking to me? I literally said “it’s not like they’re removing guns from the movie, it’s just a poster.” There’s a big difference between a film and its marketing materials.

As for ET, I’ve legitimately never understood the walkie talkie complaint. I mean sure, was that really necessary? Nah. But honestly is it that big a deal? Judging by the reaction you see about it on the internet you’d think they’d replaced ET with the alien from Mac and Me, everyone acts like this small change ruins the whole movie.

Some of us don’t like it when they go back and change movies. Some of us prefer movies how they originally were. Welcome to originaltrilogy.com.

This is true.

Thank god for the anti-PC heroes at originaltrilogy.com. I sleep easy at night knowing you guys are here to make the world great again.

I am not even sure how that thread applies to me. I have no idea what it is about and I don’t remember ever posting in it. Nonetheless, this site is dedicated to the idea the movies should be preserved how they originally were. You know, the whole “Han Shoots first” bit?

Warbler, you do realize that Frink was agreeing with you, right? He was just using a somewhat ridiculous example of preserving the original version of something to point out that that’s exactly the point of this site, even going so far as to preserve original versions of things that most would find pointless or ridiculous.

The Knick Knack project has nothing to do with you personally - it’s an early Pixar short that was later censored and someone here started a project to restore the original version (where the character had larger boobs than in the later, censored version).

Maybe next time actually figure out what Frink is trying to say before you assume he’s antagonizing you and fly off the handle for no good reason?

For what it’s worth, in the novelization, Poe sets a hyperspace entry point before Leia and Holdo retake command of the ship. That entry point is never changed, so when Holdo is alone on the ship waiting to die, she notices it - and because the ships have kept moving that whole time, the entry point is now behind the First Order fleet. That’s what gives her the idea to try it - because the ship will be accelerating to near lightspeed prior to hitting the hyperspace entry point.

So the “hyperspace ramming” actually occurs before the ship enters hyperspace, while the ship is accelerating to near-lightspeed in realspace.

It was basically her seeing where the entry point was plotted in relation to the position of the fleet, getting the idea, and going “Huh, wonder if this will work? Can’t hurt to try since I’m dead at this point anyway.”

Would have been hilarious if the jump was successful. The expressions on the faces of Hux, Leia, and Poe would have been priceless.

Haha, so Holdo gets away and the First Order fleet is intact and able to finish wiping out the fleeing ships? Man, she would’ve felt really shitty when she came out of hyperspace and learned what happened…
