You guys are annoyed at paja for cluttering up Off Topic with random threads? What about the countless random movie threads… That was annoying and it filled the first couple of pages for days.

Fair point, though I’d argue a group posting of joke threads isn’t the same as one user making multiple new threads that basically amount to comments that could have been placed in more appropriate threads.

Or tonight’s bout could be because I turned on the live action Fullmetal Alchemist movie because I assumed it’d be easily-ignored background noise since it didn’t look very good and I’m extremely familiar with the source material. But it’s so earnest in its own love of the source and yet still so terrible somehow that I’m finding it hard to look away…

Or it could be the burns on my fingers too. But neither that nor the movie explain the last week or so.

Waited until it hardened so I didn’t get any stuck to my other hand, then peeled it off, sprayed my fingers with burn spray, let it dry, washed my hands, sprayed more burn spray on and let it dry again, applied burn cream, and finally bandages.

It’s three of my fingers. Thankfully this particular plastic (well, thermoplastic rubber for shoe soles, so more rubber than plastic) cools very quickly, so they’re all very minor burns, but still quite painful. Thank god I’m not a lefty.

Okay, let me clarify. The score is good, but it sounds weak and anemic, mainly due to the freelance orchestra he’s using. Listen to the opening titles of TFA and TLJ, it sounds awful. Lacks any sort of “oomph”.

Oh, I 100% agree about the opening titles, but that’s not as big an issue with the rest of the score IMO. I do think the music is mixed too low in much of TFA, though.

Finished season 3 of Person of Interest.

Holy crap did this show go from aggressively average to fucking fantastic. Glad I forced myself through the procedural chunk of the show and made it to the awesome sci-fi, it was well worth it.

I’m also very tempted to put Amy Acker’s character in this above Fred/Illyria from Angel. I’ll wait until I’ve finished out the show to make that call, though.

Yeah it is quite a good film but it needs Fincher to go back and do a job on it. I would rather this than another alien film.

Sadly, that will never happen. Closest we’re going to get on an official release is the assembly cut.
