It wasn't as obvious as you think, I am afraid. You really do come off a bit ignorant much of the time, with nearly a half a year of reading your posts, I think I had good reason to suspect you were using "predecessor" in the wrong way unintentionally. Isn't that big of a deal, not sure why you are being an ass, throwing around insults, and blowing things up like this. I meant no disrespect with my comment, and like I said, I thought well enough of you before you started insulting me. Part of me thinks maybe you were just embarrassed for using that word incorrectly, and are overcompensating with all these insults.

I wasn't offended by your comments, but they certainly rubbed me the wrong way and erased every inkling of respect I had for you. I am not a fan of people who don't know me or anything about me insulting me out of the blue for no good reason. I think you'll probably find the vast majority of the world's population feel the same way as I do on that one. People are crazy like that.

His posts are usually really long, poorly formatted, kind of a pain to read, contribute no useful thoughts, and he has an annoying tendency to pass his opinions as established facts all should agree with, so I've got in the habit of just skimming over them or skipping them altogether unless it was a topic I had particular interest in. But still, I had no beef with him and liked him well enough prior to this.

Between you and me, you do tend to say a bunch of dumb shit, so I wouldn't have been surprised if you were calling the PT predecessors to Star Wars. If your going to try to be funny by making yourself sound like an idiot, at least use a little bit more hyperbole; by exaggerating the stupidity of your comments it will become more obvious that you are making an effort to be a dolt in the name of humor, rather than just appearing to be someone who has never seen a dictionary.

Episode IV is the first part made, doesn't count, but the 4th Star Wars movie that was released in 1999 was pretty bad.

Indy 4 was shit.

Monkey Island 4 was disappointing.

Alien 4 was so bad it almost caused mass suicides.

Terminator 4 was a masterpiece deserving of awards and praise in comparison to T3, but it still sucked.

Fourth season of the reimagined Battlestar Galactica sucked (3 crying Adamas out of 89 crying Adamas).

Fourth season of Lost was pretty good.

The fourth Star Trek series, Voyager, is generally considered to be a pretty bad show.

The fourth time with Fink's mom was bliss.

The fourth of the 90's Batman movie series was impressively bad.

Okay, so I swear I am totally straight... but... I really liked Chuck's hair in season 2, I am six episodes into season 3 and I am not really digging this new Jerry Seinfeld thing he's got going on now. I do like that he is still rocking the Converse though, I think I am going to switch over to all Converse all the time. I mean, they really are the perfect shoe. Their only real downfall is when it comes to rain and snow, those two elements render them useless as footwear... wish they made weather proof high tops... Oh man! That would be amazing! If I get a pair of solid black ones, I bet I could wear them to a black tie event without anyone noticing I am not wearing dress shoes.

I wasn't sure how to look it up either, so I did a copy & paste on twooffour's words "creepy kid at locomotive" and put "Back to the Future 3" in front of it on a google search. Turns out he is well known as "creepy kid at the end of Back to the Future III". You can find youtube videos of the scene, but basically while Doc is talking to Jennifer and Marty you can see Doc's son Verne in the background motion with his hand then point to his crotch.

Now is an interesting thought. Both those films you mentioned have the same director, and I think they both suffered from a lot of the same problems (not the least of which is a niche director who is only good at certain types of films and tends to leave a gross sticky residue that doesn't quite seem right on the films that are clearly out of his range).

While we agree about both films not being very good; I disagree with you about their attempt to copy their celluloid predecessors. I think both remakes make a clear attempt at embracing their source material over their predecessors.
