i assume, probably not due to unfinished vfx
on point, just great 😃
Is it the begining of the „starlight“ stream?^^
Agreed, outstanding with this scene!
Great to hear and applause to you 😃 tips hat off
Looking forward to your starlight vision version.
Tested the stream for the first Genosis episode, on my end it played flawless. So would harden Hals suspicion.
These movies are the magnum-opus of TV-To-Movie fanedits, and quite possibly the greatest way of watching Game of Thrones to be honest, faithful to the original feel of the show in an amazingly edited feature lengths, i watched all 8 seasons on HBO Max, and then watched the first 4 movies and can’t wait to see what Anjohan does with the finale.
Moreover, I’m longing to burning the edits into DVDs and put them right with my Lord of the Rings trilogy.
If want to be reaaally nit-picky in a other wise perfect series of edits, I think the titles should perhaps follow more closely the book titles (even if the series adapted only up to the 5th book).
I cant recommend these edits enough, if i would present GoT to my friends, this would definitely be a nice introduction to the show 😃
You flatter me beyond belief, friend, and definitely this is up there with one of those comments that make all the work feel worth it and motivate me to keep going for more, quality edits.
Thank you!
You’re welcome, bud! I hope you are making progress on edits, wish you the best!
P.S.: Are you going to end it on the seventh or eight installment?
If i recall correctly he aims to have seven films.

Yes, Mando removing his helmet is cut, which is a shame, but it does make the final scene even more impactful.
Yes, definitely. I always have been disappointed that mando removed his helmet prior to the last episode.
Absolutely, please include it.
I figured that the viewer can fill in the gaps at least, and they have a few viable options:
- Heading home from work
- On the street to visit more ‘undecided’ voters
- Distracted by the recent death and assault, and needing some air/not thinking straight.
For me, it worked exactly that way. Did it felt sudden? Maybe a little bit but not something that kept me bugging afterwards.
I attempted to recreate the lighting of the Falcon in TROS using Blender 2.92, it somewhat looks more like a miniature than a CG ship. I’m planning on probably fixing the last shot wherein it will fly away from Tatooine, but instead of the sunset, it would go straight into hyperspace from space.
i like it very much, nice work. Always been a fan of a more haptic look than cgi. Just the belly looks kind of artificial, for my amateurish eyes.
Right… as with most editing tasks, the Tatooine to Trask segment turned out to be a rabbit hole!
Once I had decided that the simple wipe to cover the entire journey didnt flow, it opened up a lot of work and tinkering to get the segment to work. There were a number of things that made it tricky, such as Grogu’s variable presence in the cockpit. However, I have managed to put in the interaction with the X-wings, which has helped give the movie some galaxy-wide exposition.Anyway, here is the completed segment.
All that is left now is some dialogue tidying, touching up the opening pan shot, end credits and a final decision on whether to include the deepfake Luke.
If anyone wants to do a test viewing let me know, it would be good to get a couple of checks before going public!
Overall the clip works well, but there is a minor continuity issues at the end- they land ok, but the ship is dripping wet as they walk away from it. Perhaps just cut from the landing straight to the overhead shot of them walking toward the canteena? Or cut out from the planet approach straight to the same shot of the party walking to remove the issue of the razor crest being damaged. There also a frame around 7 mins 19 secs that appears to just be a black screen. I would be happy to preview/test if it helps.
That clip with the razor in the background is already trimmed, but I’ve left in as much as I could to create a better transition from landing to the interaction with the Mon Cala. I can’t go straight to the overhead shot because I’d then lose the Mon Cala interaction completely.
As it is I think it’s ambiguous enough as to what ship is in the background, and if you didn’t know what happened in the episode, you probably wouldn’t realise that it was the Razor.
I’ll recheck for the black screen frame. I had to zoom in on a couple of shots to remove Grogu from the cockpit and use black screens to maintain the letterbox, so it’s probably an overspill frame.
Thanks for the input.
What was your intention of trimming the landing scene so that the landing manouver, result falling into water? I personally didn’t minded it. Was it funny? Open for discussion.
Otherwise i think everything worked very well, too.
Regarding the crawl: something is bugging me regarding the title of episode II. It feels hollow, but i fail to come up with an alternative, perhaps „the pursuit for help“??
Otherwise the crawl text itself is well written, i like it very much.My goals with the landing sequence were.
- Razorcrest arrives at Trask undamaged.
- All damage occurs during and after re-entry.
- The damage sustained isn’t significant, so that it can believably be repaired off screen by the Mon Cala (the trip to Nevarro is being cut).
I didn’t mind it falling into the sea, but the ship ended up being such a mess that it would feel jarring to have it suddenly appear pristine.
As for the title… It’s the best I could come up with, and it does follow the force-related theme of my episode 1 title.
I can relate to your no.3 even if i’m on the opposite site.
Regarding the title, what about „The Awakening“? or something similiar that resembles grogus reaching into the force?
How about The Force Awakens 😆
You would caught everyone off guard 🤣

Haha! Hopefully this one will deliver. I’ve tried to add as much prequel stuff as possible and now I’m sneaking in some KOTOR Easter eggs.
This project has so many new ideas it won’t ever be finished. I’ll just release it when I’ve had enough 😂
KOTOR stuff? i wonder what^^
I would say: add as many ideas as you like as long it fits 1. this movie and 2. the overall plot from the saga.
One downside though: you’re raising the expectations and we know how that played out for ep 9 🤣
Nice idea but I feel weird that Rey would need the darkside to beat Palps. I’ll hopefully be using the Sith eyes at some point in the movie but I think that Palps needs to be defeated by the light which comes from the 2 Saber, 4/6 force ghosts and Reys own strength to be a righteous win for the Jedi.
Did you see the new trailer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQnXhZnsIpg I’m really close to 1000 subs so I’d really appreciate the help to open the community tab if you haven’t already.
Peregrine’s work was great. I’m teaching myself EbSynth atm.
Valid reason and it’s your edit. We just stand on oppsites. I think or at least in my imagination the way to beat palps couldn’t be achived only with the light side. That’s why the jedi failed the entire time. It’s more about control your innerself rather than taking sides.
Already got you covered since day one 😃
Holy moly your new video about the saber assemble, it’s just awesome. Very exciting.
You only have to push yourself if you want to 😃 Don’t feel obliged to anyone else.
No worries, this was something I always intended to do at some point.
How does the work process look like for the deleted scene:
- PS, load every frame into it and then use the copy stamp to get rid of the time stamp?
My workflow is still essentially what was done for the Leia deleted scene from page 7 of this thread: https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/The-Force-Awakens-The-Starlight-Project-WIP-WORKPRINT-V2-RELEASED/id/54912/page/7#1147760
This time I am using After Effects, however, and it’s quite a bit more robust. It’s nice to be able to add grain as a simple effect without re-rendering the whole thing, for example. The tracking of the still image elements remains tricky, with the automated tracker working only about half the time and requiring manual keyframe animation the other half.
Thanks for the clarification 😃

any audio help needed, you might ask him: https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/pro-audio-engineer-looking-to-get-involved/id/81422
I just thought about something:
Since you’ve palpatine given red lightning as symbol for absolute power and darkness, i feel it wouldn’t be enough for rey to beat him with the help of past jedi. Perhaps you’d consider to give her sith eyes for a brief moment. So she taps willingly into the dark side to prevail against palpatine. My reasoning behind it would be that she tapped into her dark side before (previous movie and neverargreats „starlight project“) but out of fear or anger. This way it would manifest here growth as force user and neither hang on to the dogma of jedi or sith.
*original idea with the sith eyes is from „peregrine“
Nice one. great work. Always baffles my mind whats possible
Watched your info-trailer: raised my excitement 😃 Even though the trailer itself isn´t a catchy trailer, that´s why i called it info-trailer^^
One question: the integrated starkiller scene (and the sith eyes) - did you try it to match as much as possible to a real movie scene regarding the appearence? Did worked very well for your mustafar landing scene 😃
jonh! So great to hear from you, buddy! Love the FX breakdown. More and more I find the FX reels themselves are almost as impressive as the FX. I love seeing all of the nodes and layers of detail come together!
The only thing that bugged me was the last shot of when the Falcon flew away from the sunset, as I felt that it looked too slow and not in-line with the visual effects of the film.
It’s funny, I haven’t really looked at that shot in a year. Snooker and I went through about 5 different versions.
Ultimately we went with version E (pw: fanedit).
There is also version A, which is similar but does have a faster move.
The reason we went with E was because someone pointed out (I believe DominicCobb) that they used an extremely long telephoto lens to get the final composition with the sun/s so large behind Rey and BB-8. Therefore, because of the perspective, the Falcon should be large and not zoom across the screen so much.
And then there is Version D.
Version D is the way to go 😄 Brilliant
So i’d time to watch this edit and narrative wise i am just happy. It worked so well, felt never dragged despite 3 1/2h. Great work.
I do have some critique: although i suspect it was necessary for this long movie, the compression is just to strong. In dark areas are always artifacts. the image itself is some kind of noisy (by purpose?).
The scene were Harry‘s step-parents are leaving is a deleted scene, is it? because the quality is merely 720p.
