I sometimes watch the SE’s too.

Why?

It’s refreshing to watch them every once in a while.

Why?

'Cause watching a dire piece of shit really puts things in perspective and allows you to appreciate good movies all the more.

I guess this explains watching the prequels as well.

And TFA.

And 97.2% of your posts.

This is one of the things that has always bugged me about all the updates of the OT over the years. If you are going to go to all the effort of adding to/changing the films, erase the old rotoscoping and fix it proper!

What? That’s what bugged you? I for one would hate to see those beautiful sabres erased. They would definitely look out of place in TFA, but in a 1970s movie? BEAUTIFUL

But that was a deep post - it was from five months ago.

Yeah, haven’t ventured into this thread in awhile. It was staring me straight in the face.

Man, I heard Tusk on the radio yesterday. We have a great station that plays more obscure songs, so sometimes you get some great deep cuts. Tusk is such a good song.

Is Tusk really a deep track?

Well its not exactly the type of track that gets a lot of airtime on the radio these days.

I guess I only listen to self-branded classic rock stations. I feel like it was a hit in it’s time though. I think of deep tracks as those songs from popular albums that don’t make the cut for nostalgia radio stations to play, or as good songs that didn’t make the hits compilations.

Another “leaked hint” ?

They’re referring here to the OT remastered by Lowry Digital. What stands out is the fact that they’re talking about “grain reduction and dust and dirt removal”, which wouldn`t be necessary if they would’ve to remaster the 2004/2011 versions of the films.

We pretty much know the now infamous Lowry 4K scan is of the negative, which would be the '97. The '04 version is based off a 2K scan of that negative.

Was it the opening credits that the helmet appears? (with some drums and some indistinguishable French radio in the background?)

Yes, and the ending credits as well, with the theme song (including with lyrics towards the end)

Really good film - will have to try and seek it out to watch again soon.

It’s on Netflix now. Hadn’t watched it since a DVD rental a decade ago. Amazing how stunning it looks in HD. Wonderful restoration as well as a fantastic film.
