I’ve read somewhere that the DVDs were pulled.
I’ve read somewhere that the DVDs were pulled.
I’m probably reading way too much into this, but I was over at blu-ray.com just now and noticed the “best deals” at the top of the page has the complete saga set listed for $58.49. That’s the lowest I can remember any retailer selling it for in quite a long time, maybe ever.
We’re less than three weeks away from this celebration panel. If an announcement is imminent, maybe they’re trying to clear out inventory before people stop buying it altogether and start saving their money for the new set?
If Best Buy knows about it, you think that information wouldn’t have leaked already? C’mon…
The only reason the price was lowered was to tie in to Rogue One.
Imagine this information is in supply chains months in advance. Doesn’t mean your average BB warehouse and salesperson knows about it.
Yeah, they’ll almost certainly have an event dedicated to TLJ.
This movie is already DOA with Emilia Clarke in it
Oh yay there’s another one.
The surprise they keep talking about at the celebration could turn out to be nothing more than the Ep. 8 trailer.
It’s a surprise specifically for the 40 years of ANH panel.

Yeah. I think I paid $60-70 during the after Christmas sales when it was first released. But since then most sales have been around $80. Best Buy has also discounted it to $73, which is pretty low.
Beat me as in the very first reply in December.
There’s a thread you could post that in where I won’t forget and you’ll get credit.
Damn. Someone beat me to it.
In the Rogue Ridiculous, will Vader yell noooooooooo as the blockade runner pulls away?
Ah. I’m planning to purchase the Blu, so I didn’t take a mental note of the digital download release date.
Tomorrow?
Call me ignorant, but what does it actually mean to re-render CG? I assumed it was ‘drawn’ at whatever resolution and that was it.
The ‘skin’ you build over the ‘frame’ of the models using higher resolution graphics, I would imagine.
That would make sense. So the ‘frame’ is a vector of some sort and thus enlargeable.

You underestimate how determined some are to hate anything connected to Disney.
If anything, I think RO demonstrates that LF has quite a bit of independence from the Mouse.
the people who wanted full screen had to deal with widescreen.
People who want full screen should be locked up.
You’re being generous.
Released on laser and VHS only. Harmy has a 720p recreation, I think.
Do you have any reason to suggest they might for Solo? Or are you just throwing that out there?
It’s been FIVE YEARS. If Disney were going to release a new SE, they’d have done it by now! No chance. None. Five years!!
I know some folks are saying if this were happening at Celebration there’d be more leaks by now. But does anyone actually believe there won’t be anything new at all in regards to the OT on home media? Whatever it is, they’ve done a good job keeping a lid on it. In the absence of a direct ‘no’ from LF or a more solid ‘no’ rumor, I’m inclined to believe John Landis and makingstarwars.net for the time being.
I know, but just seeing it makes me grumpy.
Yeah, I think we’ve all been on edge since Mala returned a few days ago.

lasersword
😕
Intentional creative decision. Wanted to use the same noun I used in “regular sword” with a different descriptor.
There’s something that just feels wrong about Vader using his lightsaber to seemingly pick up the robe like that.
You could do it with a regular sword, why not a lasersword? They would be quite dangerous if they cut through anything without the slightest application of pressure!
Here’s the original effect. Obvious why they re-did it.

Hopefully for the 40th anniversary they’ll digitally alter Han’s neck so he is looking Jabba in the eye.
