I wonder what percentage Lucasfilm employees have Despecialized.
It’s a sign!!!
Very interesting! How did the animators sneak an OOT version past the Mouse? 😛
They certainly had a lot of incentive. If you had made a film, would you want Jedi Rocks to play over the whole thing?
And one possible implication is the Mouse doesn’t care because they’re releasing the OUT anyway.
I normally don’t watch SW animated shorts, but when I do I prefer Dos Equis.
I normally don’t watch SW animated shorts, but i read about this one on another forum. Published yesterday. Lapti Nek! (And, I think, a representation of the reasonably sized palace door from the OUT Jedi.
Aliens (theatrical cut)
I’m pretty sure I’ve only seen the director’s cut previously and I always thought it was just alright. In its original cut, it’s a much better paced film and is really great!
First Steven Spielberg doesn’t even bother including the later version of E.T. in the blu-ray release or the 4k, now Francis Ford Coppola (George’s friend going even further back) is including both the theatrical Apocalypse Now and Apocalypse Now Redux alongside a new third cut of the movie, all in 4k!
I think we can all agree the burying of ET Special Edition is a good thing. It was an abomination that should never have been made.
Most of the new scenes are extras on the BD so whatever.
Very sad news

**IM**ploding bladder? That sounds really serious 😛
Ironically, Tom Selleck was almost in Raiders. 😉
There’s also the Robot Chicken sketch about the Jaws Special Edition, which is really about Star Wars.

LOLLLL @ the praxis effect!
Maybe they can start making some home media products to start slapping these anniversary logos on.
Got Alien 4K to future proof. 15 bucks on Amazon (in a stupid eco box… is nothing sacred?).
Trying to decide if I should pawn off my quadrilogy box. I used to like Aliens, but last time I watched it I was bored to death. Who has time for 3/Resurrection?
Maybe I’ll watch aliens again and decide.
No, it did not
sigh…
Did the broadcast also include the appropriate Saul Bass Warner logo? I smiled when I saw that on the Criterion disc. Warner seems keen to erase it from history for some reason. This was probably the worst sin of the original Blu-Ray, considering the score plays over and coordinates with the animation of the logo.
Watched Barry Lyndon on BBC Four last night, hadn’t seen it in many years and I was pleasantly surprised that they aired it in the correct aspect ratio and without any time-compression.
By correct aspect ratio you mean 1.66:1? Criterion’s decision to use that aspect ratio was initially controversial but they provided documents backing it up. The old Blu was 1.78:1.
That’s why I don’t like super hero sequels. It’s just our old friends going on new adventures. It’s unimaginative and, while maybe fun at first, ultimately boring. I’m glad they went a different route with Star Wars.
You said “evil”, not us.

If the OUT happens, I think it will be because of people at LF/the Mouse who care and want to see it preserved and enjoyed, not because of the fans/demand.
At best! 😂😂
Honestly, if the OUT were officially available, I might find the SE funny. But as it is, it’s just sad that one of the most influential films ever made is presented on official home media only in a not only altered, but laughing-stock, form.
Something that came to my mind the other day about how Greedo shooting first conflicts with the Jabba scene. Because Greedo shot first there’s really no point for Jabba to ask Han ‘why did you fry poor Greedo??’. Yes you could argue Jabba maybe wasn’t aware Greedo shot first and Han killed in self defense but given that’s how the dialogue was in the original shot scene with Declan Mulholland this seems to tie in better with the idea that Han shot first.
Lol. The SEs are a CF
LOL!
I had no idea Blockbuster ever carried LD. would’ve figured that was too niche for rental markets.
What about the blue T.I.E. lasers in the asteroid field in the faces vhs of Empire ?
SHOULD BE PRESERVED ON THE 4K BD OF THE TRILOGY VIA SEEMLESS BRANCHING! IN PAN-AND-SCAN TOO!
though the rumor says 4 discs per movie for the 4K sets and 3 discs for the BD
