I spell colour like that too. I used to get bad marks in english class for spelling it that way, My teacher would go its COLOR NOT COLOUR. But I noticed that the english spell colour like that and seeing as americans use their language we should spell things correctly.

I really shouldn't even get started on this... I really shouldn't... I am not going to. I promise. I just feel that it is important to note that regional differences in language are perfectly respectable, and it is a bit silly to seriously say something is "incorrect" when it is in fact properly adhere to the local dialect. Both "color" and "colour" are correct, the former is merely American English and the later British English. Props to your teacher for trying to teach you the language as spoken in your country. So much more I could say on this. Not getting into it... Shutting up now. Ziiiiiip!

By the way Johnny, I could be mistaken, but I am only pretty sure OT.com has no spell checker. Perhaps it is FireFox (or whatever other non IE browser you are using) that has the spell checker, as mine does? If that is the case, you can very easily change your spell checker settings to "REAL" English, as opposed to American English, if you wish to.

If you wanted a simple answer then my answer is white.

Axia hasn't been about for a few days. It was Hotrod that asked the Stormtrooper question.

Hey Ash, you can actually set up your laptop to work as a wireless adaptor for your PS3, I do it with my 360, and I have heard it works just as well with the PS2 and PS3. You just run an ethernet cable from your laptops ethernet port into the ethernet port on the back of the PS3, and change a few settings around, and your laptop will share your internet connection with your console. I think I remember hearing you say you have a MacBook right? Me too. Unfortunately, it is a little more involved with OS X than it is with WinXP/VISTA. Just google something like, "use laptop as wireless adaptor for PS3" and you'll be able to find detailed instructions. If you can't find it yourself, and are interested in trying this, let me know and I will see if I can't find the instructions for you. I don't have time at the moment, I have a lawn to mow, and I have only got just about enough daylight left to do it.

Evil Dead IV

On the first page I explained how I think continuing from either film could be interesting, but I think continuing from the directors cut would be ideal. I really like the idea of this jerk not being able to catch a break. First he and his friends travel out to this cabin for some fun and sex, and next thing he knows they are all possessed by demons and trying to kill him, after surviving this hell, as if that wasn't enough, he ends up going way back in time and continuing to fight the evil dead. Finally, after setting aside his ass like tenancies for five minutes and becoming a hero, he finally gets a way to go home, and manages to screw it all up and sleep too long. I'd love to see the story continue from here, and I have a feeling it will, since this is Raimi and Co.'s preferred ending to the film.

Regarding EyeShotFirst's comments on Campbell's age. I think it is a none issue. He was very young in the first film, quite a lot older in the second, and clearly older still in the third, yet they all take place in what? A two day period? We Evil Dead fans are of such that all we want is more Campbell as Ash, we are more than willing to forgive Ash's rapid aging problem. If it really needed to be explained away, using the director's cut ending would be perfect, since we see that Ash's hair and beard still grew while he slept, it would be fair to assume he might have gradually aged during his long sleep. Like I said, I really don't care. Just give me more Bruce Campbell, more buckets of fake blood, and more crappy stop motion monsters and silly special effects and I have no doubt I'd love the Evil Dead Quadrilogy just as much as I have loved the trilogy all these years.

Terminator 3

The Mummy 3

Austin Powers Goldmember

007 Dalton and Daniel Craig Years

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

For some reason I often feel the need to express how very much I dislike Terminator 3. Yeah, I really, really don't like that movie.

I liked the first two Mummys well enough myself. They were pretty shitty, but enjoyable enough for a cheesy summer flick (if it hadn't been for Rachel Weisz, I actually probably wouldn't have liked them). I suppose the fact that the last time I saw either of them was during their theatrical runs says a whole lot about how much I actually liked them... but anyway, all this to say I would gladly defend you from any shit giving that comes your way for liking them. And yeah, the third struck me as an incredible bad idea. Especially without Rachel Weisz.

I am not that big of a fan of over the top mindless comedies, but I seem to remember finding the original Austin Powers amusing (again, I think the last time I saw it was during its theatrical run). Saw the second one and hated it, same old jokes, more ridiculous than before, thought it was crap. Never even dreamed about considering the possiblility of bothering with the third one.

I also agree with you regarding Dalton and Craig. Though most guys seem to hate Roger Moore's Bond flick, I find The Man with the Golden Gun and Live and Let Die to be by far my two favorite Bond films. I liked Casino Royale, due to its loyalty to the source materially, but I didn't particularly like Craig in the role of Bond. I am also not the biggest Brosnan fan. Where I do disagree with you slightly is regarding Dalton, I rather liked Dalton in The Living Daylights, though I hated him in A License to Kill.

I always liked Roald Dahl's books as a kid. And I always really liked the film, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I kind of liked the idea of a remake that more closely followed the book, which is what the Johnny Deep film promised to be. Ultimately, I felt Johnny Deep was absolutely awful in the role, and the same annoying guy playing every single Oopa Loompa and the fact that the Oopa Loompas were so obnoxious really made this movie entirely worthless. The original film did a great job with the Oopa Loompas, they were weird and charming. In the new film, they were a bit embarassing to watch. The whole think left a horribly taste in my mouth.

"Tim Burton stays in one single box his movies all look and feel the same."

Quoted for truth.

Bingo Wings, great to find someone else who things Star Trek is way over rated and that T4 is taking an undue beating. I really liked Terminator Salvation. Even more so the second time I saw it than the first. I also really liked the idea of the original ending, and find the current ending incredibly weak.

I think there is a brilliant fan edit in this (good bye Bale!), I just really hope the originally intended ending is on the DVD. That ending would be a vast improvement.

I also didn't like Arnold cameo. It was kind of cool from a nostalgia perspective, but it just didn't quite look right. Looked like a video game character, obviously CG. I can imagine in a few years time he will look really dated and stick out like a sore thumb. I think they were going for dramatic affect in John running into the Terminator from his childhood.

I personally think the T-800 should have been left out, since Kyle describes them as a new model in the first film. If they had been around since the time he was a teenager, they aren't really that new (changing timelines explains this easily enough though, so not that big of a deal).

The problem with the Resident Evil films from the fans point of view, is that they made a concious decision to abandon the games story line and let them go in their own direction with Alice and that whole plot line. As reflected by Jill's exclaiming in the second film of, "Who the fuck are you!" when she first meets Alice, which was obviously put in there because that was exactly what fans were thinking when they were first introduced to Alice in the first film. I actually enjoyed them well enough as crappy zombie flicks. I wasn't that into RE when the first two movies came out, though I was familiar with them and had played them some. It was RE4 that really got me invested in the series, which to most RE fans would place me in the category of "not a true fan" since the hardcore RE guys tend to say RE4 and RE5 such as REs.

I think the movies would have been more interesting had they stuck closer to the original story. The "haunted mansion" that turns out to be more than meets the eye, the hidden laboratory build underneath it and all that were really cool ideas. The first two games (haven't played much of 3 or Code:V) were very claustrophobic, which really added to the tension. I think this could have been translated well to screen. Instead, we have a very nice and clean spacious mansion, and a huge laboratory with plenty of room to move around in.

Like I said, I didn't find the movies to be as awful as most people do. I guess I tolerate them for what they are. But I dream of what could have been, had they chosen to follow the games even to a slight degree. Ideally the first three films would have been adaptions of the first and second game, followed by Code: Veronica.

I think the reason video game films always stray so far from their source is because film makers feel that they don't what to show the fans something they have already seen. Which is crazy, because that is EXACTLY what the fans are looking for. We have no problem showing readers stories they have already read in books with book to film adaptions, and no problem remaking old films that people have seen hundreds of times before. So I am not sure why this kind of thinking persists with video games movies.

Especially today, when games are incredibly cinematic to begin with, just makes sense that should much more easily be adapted to film.

Batman & Robin, oh my giddy aunt.

The only film I felt genuinely embarrised to be caught seeing was Caravan Of Courage (if only I had watched the thing drunk) but that's really a prequel I guess.

...

Battle For The Planet Of The Apes is also a sorry mess.

I'll thrown in my giddy aunt to for Batman & Robin. That is a movie I felt embarrassed to be caught seeing.

Caravan of Courage (which I am only pretty sure is another GL name retcon, as I owned the VHS at one point and remember it only being called Ewoks Adventure or something like that), is something I actually never felt was that awful. It is clearly made for children, and it is made for TV (only we Americans like to market our made for TV crap as cinema quality work in your country, Bingo. Kind of like your neighbor sending their kid over to bring you their leftovers in a shoebox, because they think you are poor. I'd protest if I were you. I don't suppose my country men are still that shameless, are they?). I always found it a really cool little fantasy style story told in the SW universe. Always reminded me of The Hobbit a great deal, not so much in story (though there are elements) but in style. Again, no fancy work of art, but as far as made for TV kids movies go, I find it pretty fair. Honestly, I'd much rather watch it and its sequel than any of the prequels.

And as much as I loved the Conquest for the Planet of the Apes (not saying it was good, just that I am personally very fond of it), Battle for the Planet of the Apes was a rather disappointing follow up.

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles are something I have always really wanted to get into, but try as I might, have never actually managed to.

Technically not. As it would be 100% incorrect to say that David Prowse cut off Mark Hamill's hand. David Prowse, played a character named Darth Vader who cut the hand off of a character named Luke Skywalker who was portrayed by Mark Hamill.

"Who did Luke Skywalker see upon exiting Yoda's hut on Dagobah." Not, what actor did Mark Hamill interact with after changing scenes from the interior of the Yoda's hut set to the exterior Yoda's hut set.

All caps is Dayv's trademark. Or as he likes to say, "I TYPE IN ALL CAPS, BECAUSE I CAN". I think I asked a similar question when I first joined, and was met with a similar answer.

You'll get used to it.

I am guessing Dayv was the kind of kid the teacher always had to remind to use his "inside voice".

No kidding! That documentary would fit perfectly with the original, but with the CG ridden DC, it is a complete joke. That might be a really good point to bring up with Warner.

The funny thing is, most people would only be interested in THX1138 for its historical significance anyway, and would be watching it out of curiosity. I have heard only a few people say they really enjoy it as a film and watch it from time to time for pleasure. This makes it even more outrageous.

The whole thing is a bit like making a documentary about ancient Roman culture, and interviewing modern Romans and asking them about the way they live.

Imagine a tour guide in a museum explaining how all the artifacts from ancient cultures have not only been restored to represent their original form, but have now also been tweaked and souped up to better match modern trends in style.

"On your left, we have a classic indie film from the 70s. Notice its state of the art special effects? These would have been quite impressive by 1970s standards, and were of course, added many years later and have nothing indie about them. This particular indie film maker became very successful and very obsessed with special effects..."

I often wonder if Goerge "We must preserve our national heritage" Lucas realizes how ridiculous all this is? For some reason, I think he probably does't...

I am not sure, but George seem to be of the status that you absolutely don't f-with. If Warner for some reason felt like going through the trouble of including both versions of the film on the BD, and George "politely asked them not to", I think they'd just drop it and go with his wishes, regardless of who owns distribution rights of what.

I swear, George must be way up there in the ranks of the Hollywood Mafia. He seems the type that always gets his way. Perhaps this is because he frequently makes them "offers they can't refuse"?

LOL. Ah, such a great game. So many good lines. If it was an animated film I'd be a classic. Unfortunately the nature of video games are to disappear into obscurity. I am not even sure I'd have the time or patience to be able to sit down and effectively enjoy this game all the way through like I did back when it first came out.

Wish some fan would come along and make a fancy DVD of the thing in high quality. Something like this probably already exists on youtube, but with such a beautiful game, experiencing it all in youtube quality would kind of suck.

It's back?...Where was it before now?

Gone. Far away. Perhaps never to be seen or heard from again. But now it is back.

Now I just need Grim Fandango to make a comeback and my life will be complete... well not really, but it would be greatly appreciated. The realization that there are people in this world who have never played Grim Fandango from start to finish makes me feel very sad on their behalf.

That game is what made me want to become a grim reaper when I grew up, it inspired my young mind and made me who I am today. Well, actually I was pretty old when that game came out, but it sucked me in like no game had done since I was ten or so. The whole concept of that game was just brilliant. And the blending of themes was fascinating. My favorite bit was the Casablanca inspired section. I loved how you'd settle in a new area and the game would flash forward a few years. Absolutely epic!

Yeah, I read about being able to switch between versions and about the full voice after posting. Those are definitely exciting things, I might get this for Xbox Arcade.

My "unfortunate" comment came from seeing the new cover art... which I am still think is most unfortunate. I'll definitely be playing this with the old graphics as well. The voice overs will be great. I really hope they do the second one as well. Monkey Island II was one of the most amazing gameplay experiences of my entire childhood. That thing literally blew/warped my young mind in so many wonderful ways.

Most unfortunate (and somehow and in someways fortunate at the same time). But ought to be expected when something has the name "Lucas" attached to it in some way.

I guess my problem is being so attached to the original, kind of hurts my eyes to see things looking so different. I am sure this old gezer will adjust. It is kind of exciting that a new generation of degenerate and deprived little children will get to enjoy the greatness and the quirkiness that this game is.

Wow! I never thought I'd see the day. Now that it is here, I am not sure if I should be happy or annoyed...

I loved the first two, to the point of holding up with sacred reverance. I very much enjoyed the third one, though have always wondered what could have been had Ron Gilbert been involved and had it been made closer to the second one.

I can't say I completely hated the fourth... I had very mixed feelings about it. I could honestly say I thought it sucked... but them I could also honestly say I really liked it.

The reality of this fifth game really hasn't sunk in yet, but I have this funny feeling I am going to be a few bucks poorer the day it is released...

Hmm, really not liking Mr. Brush's new look.

Anyway, thanks for the info Banana Man!

Gaffer, you are the ingenious individual who made an entire video on the insanity of the Jabba Palace rescue plan! I've got to say, you disappoint me! The grand master asking a mere novice... ;)

I certainly don't think an entire video ripping on how dumb the Threepio head swap bit is would be boring... but if you needed to pad it out, maybe you could make a top worst moments of AOTC video.

The coolest thing about your Jabba rescue plan video, was that you took something most people over looked the crappiness of, and pointed it out in a way that made viewer take a second look at it and realize "Whoa, that is pretty f-ed up! How did I ever ignore that before?" It was a fairly unique insight that most of us really were never bothered by, because we were too busy loving the hell out of that movie, or dissing the Ewoks and the fact that the movie ended with Yub Nub.

I think something like that would be hard with this, since the PT has literally been picked to pieces already. So part of me just says stick to an enthusiastic and humorous complaint commentary (like your Jabba video) on Threepio's antics and how it is inconsistant with what we have seen in the OT. Another part of me would like to see you rant on about other parts of episode II as well, but realize you run the risk of seeming exactly like every other youtube reviewer out there (something that, I am happy to say, I feel you have done a great job avoiding so far). Perhaps you could take the approach of examining the inconsistencies of C3PO's character between the PT and OT.

You are a very creative guy, I have great faith in your ability to make this interesting and completely unique. Also, I wouldn't worry so much about length, the video could be just a few minutes long and still be very enjoyable. No need to feel obligated to go beyond, or even close to, the five minute mark.

Daah! I hate to see great actors referred to as, "the guy who played..." Tarkin was portrayed by the late great Peter Cushing. Tarkin was one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite characters in the entirety of the SW trilogy. When Hasbro finally made a Tarkin action figure in the nineties, I purchased him without hesitation. Now that was a great villian! Plain as day evidence that the PT were dealt a foul hand when it came to villians. Lee's Dooku could have been a pretty good villian, but lets just face it, he wasn't!

Lee totally kicked ass as Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun. He is also my all time favorite Bond villian.
