Ha Ha! The second coming of Janskeet was proved futile!!! (Since his comeback, short lived, thread was closed, I thought there no better place to post this than Warb's comeback thread, especially since Warb was successful)

Yeah, that was really funny. I miss the guy, so I wish I had come in at the right time to interact with him. Oh well.

I remember he posted somewhere the list of users that had him on ignore, and the numbers were absolutely astronomical. I think half the forum had him on their ignore list.

Are we sure he was actually twenty? As opposed to a teenager who, in order to try to fit in better at a forum full of people who were alive when the first Star Wars film hit theaters, claimed to be 20?

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time

Well, actually I think the idea was that since this was a rough cut, that TM doesn't want it widely distributed. This release was to satisfy people who had been anxiously waiting for this for so long, but with the understanding that you are watching an incomplete product. The moment this gets on RS or torrents, you'd have all sorts of people who have no idea what the heck it is downloading it, then commenting negatively on it because they don't understand the purpose, or because they think it is of poor quality. Every person who recieved a copy, did so with the understanding that they were not to post it online.

Wow, you weren't kidding! Irregardless of the fact that I thought you were only joking, you were actually serious and now I really am on your ignore list.

Irregardless of my use of the "word" "irregardless" in the offending post as well as this post, I too cringe when I hear it used.

Sooo, anyone else get their hands on the Left 4 Dead 2 demo? I thought it was pretty good. A lot of people complain about how sort the first game is and that it isn't worth paying full price for the second game that is only slightly longer a mere year after the release of the original. Sure, you can play your way through the entire L4D campaign in one day even if you absolutely suck at it, but the game was designed with replay value in mind. There is not another game I own for 360 that has half as much replay value as Left 4 Dead. All those games I own with long single player campaigns find a place on my shelf collecting dust when I am finished with them, but L4D is a game I find myself constantly coming back to. Since you are playing with three other real people, the experience is never the same.

I'd be more than content to spend a couple of more years playing the first Left 4 Dead, but with all the extras added to the sequel and the anticpation of countless more hours spend blowing limbs off zombies with a shot gun with three strangers, makes me feel this is more than worth the price tag. I think I'll get it when it comes out, maybe I'll wait a week or two and get it used for $15 dollars or se less than retail.

Irregardless :) of everything else, surely anyone who plays this demo can appreciate the fun and excitement of hacking up zombies with a machette.

Heh, yeah, my slight paranoia tends to make me check that feature every so often to see if I've pissed anybody off!

Let me guess, Mr. Peace Keeper, you have 0 users ignoring you? I think you are probably the last person on this entire forum to have reason to be paranoid about pissing people off.

So, Frink, who is the user who has you on ignore? After reading that everybody else here seems to have at the most 1 person ignoring them, including Sean, I suddenly feel quite notorious by having earned my place on the ignore lists of three whole people.

Heh heh, I have three people ignoring me. That is pretty funny. I didn't even know you could look and see who has you on their ignore list. Two of them are pretty obvious (GA26 and the ever talented and amazing Vbangle), but I am not sure why the third guy would be ignoring me. I think he is one of the guys who only hangs out in Adywan's threads for the most part, must have said something to tick him off or annoy him at some point. Searched his name and read a few of his posts, he seems like a bit of an ass so it is very likely I got into it with him about something or another at some point. Kind of amusing I can comment about these guys openly like this and not have to worry about them reading any of it.

dang, they are still charging $60 in the philly target....I would have definitely picked it up for $15

To bring back a discussion from a few pages back regarding Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, now that I have taken the time to play it, I can say that it is most definitely worth fifteen bucks. It is really a lot of fun, not worth full price, but for $15-20 I'd recommend it to MK and/or DC fans.

Noticed gamefly has it used for $19.99.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time

Unfortunately, I have only had time to watch half of it so far, but I can't wait to finish it.

I haven't watched AOTC since it first came out on DVD, I have seen it a grand total of two times, I think. I didn't enjoy it either time, it is definitely NOT one of my favorite movies and usually I associate the thought of watching it with torture.

The appeal of TM's edit when I first read this thread all those years ago, and none of us took it seriously, was that he seemed to feel the same way about this movie I did and wanted to do such a radical edit that it would really change and improve the film in a way that conventional means of fanediting could never dream of.

As I said, I am enjoying a film I absolutely hate, kind of hard to wrap my brain around. It has been so long since I have seen any of the prequels, and the last time I heard Anakin talk was probably in some of TM's clips he posted, so strangely, the voice didn't seem at all out of place to me, but seemed pretty natural. Only issue with it to me is of course the technical aspect of it, doesn't always sound like he is in the same place as the character he is speaking with. As for Jar Jar's voice, I absolutely love it.

The actual edit itself is very well done, overall the new voice acting is a very small part of the thing as a whole, and the fanedit itself is so far beyond what I have seen anybody else do with this film, or would have thought possible. A new bench mark has definitely been set for AOTC edits. Perhaps this will inspire others to take TM's ideas and take them further.

I'd still like to see this completed someday, but honestly, I am really happy to get to see this, and do not find its rough state to hinder my enjoyment. I wish I had the money to hire TM full time, I'd love to see what he could do to that dog of a film known as Revenge of the Sith.

Where did the Mon Calamari come from?
Time

I noticed there is a LEGO series called Space Police or Space Patrol or something along those lines. It features these bad ass looking futuristic policemen with high tech looking space travel worthy police cars. Basically it is LEGO cops and robbers in space. Of course, all the robbers happen to be funny looking big headed aliens with wads of cash in their hands. Got to love the idea that one day mankind will find their place in the universe among other species as enforcers of Intergalactic Law.

EDIT: Here are some amazon links to the sets I am talking about, second link has an embedded video on the page of a TV advertisement for the set, definitely worth watching as it touts the Space Police's responsibility of teaching the galaxy that crime doesn't pay.

Halo Wars is definitely worth $15 if you're either a Halo fan or an RTS fan.

Thanks Xhonzi. I am now $15 dollars poorer. Still don't know how I feel about a console RTS, feels kind of like a crime against nature, but I have been wanting to try it out for a while.

Those are some good deals at Gamefly, I would have never thought to look there. FEAR 2 for 12.99, Resident Evil 5 for $19.99. They have Mirror's Edge for $9.99, not sure how good of a deal that is, but I can say I most definitely recommend that game to anyone who wants to try something unique.

3.  Health problems.  That's all I'm going to say about that, but they have been numerous and somewhat debilitating, and I really don't feel like getting in front of a camera anytime soon.

Haha, so, hopefully, once all those problems are solved I can finally get around to finishing my Wonder Woman series.  I appreciate the fact that someone's looking forward to it at least.  ^_^

Whoa! I hope your health problems are not too severe. I have to say, I am among those looking forward to new videos from you, but that isn't really all that important. Sorry to hear you are having some problems. I hope you get over whatever it is that is ailing you.

Thread for all Usenet vs Torrent vs Rapidshare discussion
Time

Concerning usenet being much faster and less hassle than RS through jdownloader, speaking as someone who has used both methods in the past, I'd have to say the setup hassle is about the same, only with RS and jdownloader you do not have to hassle with signing up for newsgroup access.

As for much faster, RS is quite speedy. No, it is not as fast as newsgroups, but if you just practice a little bit of patience you get what you with very little hassle. A 4gb fanedit might take you a little over a day to pull down, as opposed to several hours through newgroups, but when you consider the price difference... I can wait a few hours more. Also, considering newsgroup places like giganews get the majority of their business from people wanting to use it for piracy, I'd rather not throw my money their way.

Related to Gaff's comment, I have often complained about the fact that LucasArts completely abandoned all other franchise and went completely Star Wars with a rare random non-SW title from time to time. I didn't realize this until a few weeks ago when I listened to Ron Gilbert's PAX09 key note lecture, but the reason they didn't make SW games at the beginning of LucasGames existence, is because the video game rights for SW had been sold to other companies. They made some pretty successful stuff during that time, it is ashame they literally ditched it all and stuck to mostly only SW and Indiana Jones titles from there on out.

I know some guys really get obsessive over Halo. I am not like that at all, but it is a fun shooter and it really reminds me of the kind of sci-fi books I used to read as a kid. One of my good childhood friends has been a hardcore Halo fan since the release of the first game and he told me the books were fantastic, I wrote it off as the ramblings of an obsessive Halo fan. However, I did pick up and start reading The Fall of Reach a few weeks ago, and though I have not had the time to finish it, I am really enjoying it.

I am in central time (GMT-6). I'll send a friend request to your gamertag.

Xhonzi, you and I are a lot alike. I also tend to stay a generation behind to save money. I also stopped gaming when I finished school and got married, and later had my interest re sparked (thanks to a hand-me-down PS2 from a friend) and eventually bought a 360.

The DS with homebrew really is worthwhile, it is a lot of fun being able to play oldies like Monky Island and Doom on a device that fits in your pocket. As for Nanner mentioning its lack in ability to play regular Gameboy and GB Color games, you can just emulate those two. Just find a ROM for all the GB and GBC games you own and grab an emulator called lameboy. With the R4 they play flawlessly on the DS.

Xhonzi, since it sounds like you like Halo, do you have Halo 3 or ODST? We could co-op sometime.

If you wanna go down that route, then the way a lot of people look at is that the EU is like a series of history books. Since all of this happened a long time ago and no one living today was there, the retellings of the stories of what went on won't always be 100% accurate. Something along those lines anyway. He's never said that what happened in the EU happened, in fact when explaining the different canons he explicitly states that what happens in the EU doesn't have anything to do with what happens in his.

Right, those are exactly the things I was making fun of in my post. The great lengths fans will go through to make the illigit EU ligit despite the fact that it contradicts or is contradicted by other EU or "official" works. Or how George Lucas' people make up different "levels" of canon, so that eventually everything is canon.

And I know George never said that what happened in the EU happened, but yet he liscensed out the property and makes money off of it, then turns around and says to all the fans who are giving him money, These stories you are reading never really happened, just silly stuff people make up to make me more rich. Feels like he wants all the money from pimping the series out, but also wants it to remain soley his. Kind of like a man prostituting his wife out because he loves the money it brings in, but then deludes himself saying she is only his. I guess I just find the whole EU thing kind of twisted. It either is canon or it isn't, otherwise the whole purpose of canon is lost.
