Actually I think they are doing a good job recovering his character. In season one he was one of the best, during the course of season two he was still a great character, but I felt they started ruining him in the last few episodes. Then in season three I have really hated him. I don't think they will make him evil. As you have seen the others have a way of manipulating people, I don't think he went with them because he is pulling a Michael (two for the road, heh heh), they just offered him what he wanted, which has something to do with his dad, and something to do with the bizzare connection he has had with the island since season one. Locke is one of the few still valid characters on the show. I also think they are going in the right direction with Sawyer's character, I like how they finally have him steping up and being a leader type while everybody begins to distrust Jack.

Mine was something like this, though not as nicely painted as these and considerably smaller, with the largest one (Boris) being only four inches tall. Now that I see pictures of them, I realize I was wrong, it is not the ranks of the existing political powers, but the political powers throughout Russian history. It has been way back in the early days Yeltsin was in office since I have seen that thing, now in his honor I'd like to dig it out, but I haven't a clue where it is.

Yeah, but every one seems to think Bush is clearly an idiot while Al Gore might as well have his PhD in science with how much credit he is given. Though you have to admit, Al has better public speaking skills. Bush gets pummeled for his accent and his tencancy to mix up words, I think they should all have to give a speech in front of a large crowd before they are allowed to pass judgment.

Hmm, what are those wooden Russian dolls called where they open up and there is a smaller one inside, then a smaller one inside that, and a smaller one inside that? My Russian friend gave me one of those where the biggest one was Yeltsin and inside him was another high ranking government guy, then another then another and so on down the ranks. This just reminded me of my little wooden Yeltsin.

Yeah, in the wider perspective of things he was good, still a crook, but perhaps a lesser crook than the current one. Poor Russia, communism sure screwed the hell out of you and recovery is a long process. Two steps forward, one step back.

Didn't say it was. I quoted the Bible verse in response to Nanner's mentioning of some scene from Ghostrider.

Legion is a transliteration of the Greek word which means "thousands" which is dirived from the Latin military term. I just thought that their /b/tard rant containing an ancient military term was kind of funny. But yeah, since its transliteration from the Greek it has been integrated into the English language and now can be used to mean "many". So actually they were using it properly, I am just used to the term in its Greco-Roman context. Hearing it used in English in that way it just felt kind of bastardized (which it is).

I have an SUV, and people have on occasion tried to make me feel guilty for it. Because I have a ten year old SUV, I am single handedly destroying the enviroment. Al Gore also grew fat off the oil companies and still owns plenty of shares in them. He also uses more than his fair share of electricity, this is one reason why I have a hard time taking him seriously.

'Backstroke of the West' with retail DVD quality : FINISHED & RELEASED
Time
The old timecode one feels more authentic to me. That timecode at the top justs adds to the experience of the crappy presentation from a foreign bootleg.

As far as the rifftrax audio synced to the DVD, my friend gets every new rifftrax that is of a movie he owns and reauthors his DVDs with the new audio commentary. The Rifftax site has a message board with detailed instructions on how to do this. The hard part is getting the actual audio from the movie low enough that you can still hear it without it being loud enough that it covers up the commentary at the louder parts of the film.

Whoa! These guys need to get out more! Do they even know what "legion" means? Doesn't even make much sense in the way they use it.

I think the "We are legion" is taken from the God-awful "Ghost Rider" movie, in which at the end, the evil villain formed from thousands of dead souls, screams "We are legion, FOR WE ARE MAAAAAAANYYYYYYYY!"

Wow, these Hollywood types are really starting to have a hard time coming up with original material.

Mark 5:9

Jesus asked him, "what is your name?" And he said, "My name is Legion, for we are many."

The word "legion" literally means thousands. In Roman military terminology it was the name for a phalanx of 3,000 to 6,000 men. In Mark, which I quoted above, it was a demon who had possesed a man. When Jesus commanded the demon out of the man, it begged him to be allowed to posses a heard of 2,000 pigs. After Jesus gave legion the okay on the pigs, they immediately ran into the river and drowned. After that the villagers asked Jesus to leave and never to come back again.

dayv, what's your problem? All you do these days is mope about how pathetic these boards are now, how the good ol' days are gone, and complain about how dumb our conversations are. You are hardly the one to talk about dumb posts. The last relevant post of yours I remember reading had to do with you leading the masses of this board into battle against windmills in some misguided rebellion only to do a 180 months later. Just because we are talking about politics and current events doesn't make our post so much more idiotic than your talking about hot chicks, race cars, or football. I have always liked you man, but I just don't see where you come off complaining about the lack of relevance of other peoples posts. If you really want this place the way it use to be, then go beg all the people you took with you to FE to come back, if you think that will make a difference.

I swear, next we're going to get a story that President Bush accidentally sneezed on Nancy Pelosi.

Then a bunch of psychoanalysts are going to come on CNN and say that it's symptomatic of the struggle between men and women in America.

That was hilarious. I really did LOL at that one. I like how we jump from one obession to another, first it is "racist radio hosts" with bad hair, then it is a phycho killer, now it is Baldwin and his daughter. I can't wait to see what CNN brings us tomorrow.

Well, maybe it's just me but i just don't think that it is that bad. I've heard and seen much worse than an 11 year old girl being called pig. One thing I've learned in years past is that sometimes there are ways that family members talk to each other that is totally accepted and fine with everybody in the family that other people would construe as being terrible. All in all, Baldwin did not insult her size or physical attributes, but her behavior. I would imagine that the term "pig" within their family would imply bad or rude manners, not that she is or resembles a pig. It's not like he called her and said the last time he saw her she was getting fat and was a pig, now that would be traumatic to a childs self image. Here is an example, whenever I was kid and I was unruly, my family often said I was "showing my ass" which infers to me that I was being stubborn and showing that side of me. As I've gotten older I've learned that this phrase is not too common among people outside the southern United States and therefor, they would not quickly understand it. Now if my Dad was to call me when I was 11 and leave a ranting message that I was "showing my ass", then some would over analyze it thinking that my Dad was literally saying I showing my ass and not referring to behavior. Seeing what I have seen in life like 4 year old children locked in closets for months, children beaten with metal wires, and some instances of fathers berating their single digit aged daughters has "whores" and "cunts" then pig is so menial.

Those are some very good points. The part of his phone message that kind of stood out to me was the comment on the size of her brain, the pig thing seemed typically annoyed parent talk. I could not agree with you more about how much worse things parents do to their children than that. Things like the child locked in the closet that you mentioned sends chills down my spine. Back in my old construction days, a guy was telling me about a run down house he was remodeling and he mentioned that the kitchen pantry, which was large enough to put a child in, had had a lock mounted on the outside. Even the possibility of things like this are horrifying.

Worse, you know a bunch of inconsiderate morons are probably going to send them threatening emails or bricks through their windows spewing venom at the parents for the actions of their son.

I bet they are getting hounded by the media too.

Yeah, I had only read a few snipits about it and a quote of the "selfish pig" part when I made my first post, since then I actually heard the sound clip and he was pretty harsh. My mom has called me things before, but never half as harsh is that. I still don't think the invasion of privacy is warrented though. I chalk the extremety of his outburst to his being a spoiled rish celebrity, it is terrible to talk to your eleven year old that way, but he is hardly the only parent to loose his temper at his kid. The swearing and name calling was way, way too far though. If he regularly looses it like that, then I have to agree he is not fit to be a father. if it was a one time thing, then I would say it is his own issue to deal with and the media should butt out. They should butt out anyway.

Ferris, I see from your flipping banner thing that you are a Texan. I am half Texan (something I don't proudly admit ), I guess that makes my mom a traitor for marrying an outsider. When I was a kid my best friend proudly boasted to being a fourth generation Texan. I grew up surrounded by Texans, but never lived in Texas. For Arnie or any others reading this who don't live in the US, there are two types of Americans, there are Texans, then there is everybody else. Texans are alright peope, the rest of us just like to make friendly jousts at them on account of their unkillable pride (which I admire). Notice how only the Texan puts his state in his flipping banner thing? Texan pride. Texans are good people, they just talk funny (nows the part where every Texan on the board gains up on me )

You would be about as qualified to make about the rapture as Al Gore is qualified to make a movie on global warming. Also I could not agree that all conservatives believe in the rapture, there are a good deal of conservatives that are not Christians for one. And not all Christians believe in the rapture for another. There are a few different ways the term rapture is used by Christians. Some mean it to just mean the end of the world and when we all go to judgment. When I hear the word rapture I automatically thing of the Pre-Millennial belief that all Christians will be raptured up into heavy, while the non-believers will be left behind wondering what just happened and why so many people just vanished, then after a bit the tribulation comes and so on. There are many varying views of eschatology among the Christian community, I don't believe in the pre-millennial idea at all. So I would say the coming of the rapture is not an infallible truth at all. I think the comparison of the rapture to global warming is kind of silly. For one, I could tell somebody who firmly believes in a rapture and a tribulation and all that, that I do not share their view point at all and while they may argue with me, I don't think they are very likely to tell me I am going to hell because I don't share their belief. I know they are not going to destroy my career because of my belief. For some reason these kind of things seem to happen to any poor sap who challenges the idea of global warming. If you don't believe in global warming you are anti-human it seems and you should be ashamed of yourself for not caring about the world your children and your children's children will grow up in. Why can't we question global warming? Why are so many people so sensitive on that subject? I care about the polar bears as much as the next guy, and I definately agree that we should be as enviromentally friendly as possible. But because I don't believe the impending doom of global warming and the unfortunate death of all of our white and furry, cold weather loving friends, suddenly I am some sort of heretic. Global warming is another issue of people being too lazy to do their own research, and just finding it easier just to listen to bias sources and call it good. I just don't get it. For the life of me I just don't get it.
