Actually yes, that is what kids show do now and, days. Power Rangers a kids show. Has masters dying, villians talking about killing the entire planet, explosions, fights, draining life from others to use for machines, killing of monsters in every episode pretty much, to top it off it's live action to boot. CGI is mostly only used for special attacks or, Zord formations/attacks. The vast majority of the show is live action. With all this said it is a kids show.

i think you need to go back and watch more power rangers,

and stay away from these 'adult' cartoons..

if they added naboo fighters to star wars run on the death star trench i would take my dvds and literally Burn them.

What i wanted to do with the 2004 cut of return of the jedi.

Why didn't you burn your 04 set? Or better yet, why did you buy it in the first place?

Is it at all okay with you guys if I watch the show and decide for myself what I think?

Of course you can. Nobody told you you couldn't. Not sure why you feel the need to ask for permission.

I guess you were taking a dig at all the negative feeling toward this show, but really the hater and the lover seem to be pretty equal in number.

My honest opinion on the show: I hated the movie idea from the beginning, but after the first tailer for the actual series was released, I thought it looked kind of cool, then I watched the first couple of episodes and felt it was incredibly childish. Since everyone here was talking about how great the third episode was, I decided to go ahead and check it out, and again, it was obviously written for little kids. Kind of funny that one is still in disput. On top of that, I was incredibly annoyed with all the Star Wars references it had. Every couple of lines of dialogue there is an OT quote. "I've got a bad feeling about this" instead of being a reference found once within each movie, has now become over used to the point of annoyance. I seriously wonder if they are actually going to squeeze that line out at least once in every episode. As I said before, if I was a kid I would probably love it.

This is one reason a lot of us old coots thought we would be seeing shiny new X-Wings in the prequels. ;)

Exactly. It is amazing it took them this long to do it.

Maybe it was because I was younger then, but I always found the OT ships fascinating. But the only PT ship to ever be of any interest to me was the Naboo fighter. Not sure why, but I always kind of liked that one. Kind of funny how we all made such a connection with the Falcon in the OT, but there was nothing like that in the PT. No special ship they flew around in and cared if it got damaged or not, everything was extremely expendable.

It is also kind of silly that we don't see a bunch of the PT ships flying around in the OT, Obviously we still see people driving around in twenty year old cars today. But nothing in the PT even resembles sleeker versions of ships seen in the OT. It honestly feels like two different universes. I really thought we'd be seeing Y-Wings and X-Wings or something a lot like them in the PT.

Let's Talk Indy For A Sec
Time

I think Lucas originally intended them to go to the Wookie homeworld ROTJ, but then decided big powerful Wookies took away the David vs. Goliath element in the final battle against the Empire, and so he cut them in half and butchered their name (Wookie - Wook-ie - iewook - ewok). Or is that some BS I was fed? Hard to tell, since most things in Star Wars lore are BS, especially the official stuff (LOL, and that is not even a bash against LFL or Lucas, it is just an undisputed fact).

Ya, what C3PX said......damn, I am forced to agree with C3PX, what's the world coming to?

Vbangle, just because I am a gun loving, government hating nut job in my political views, doesn't mean I am unreasonable on every subject. :)

And Gaffer, I agree with you, I am happy to have PT and SE fans here, I have absolutely no problem with them, and I really like to hear their views. But not when they act like that. Especially when they tell us off, and then try to play the victim, get offended and run away when we turn it around on them.

Good ridance to ya, and stop being suck a self righteous fuckwit. My problem wasn't with the first post in this thread, it was your first post where you told every one to shut the fuck up. Seriously, stop complaining about other people complaining. We do not have to like the SE, and we still don't have the versions of the films we grew upwith on DVD. Glad you like the SE, we don't. If you can tell us to shut up our complaning about the SE, surely we have the right to tell you to stick it for telling us to shut up. If you don't like reading us complaining, then don't read those posts. This is very much the wrong forum for you, why are you here again? To pick fights? Because that is the only explaination that makes sense, and it is exactly what you are doing.

it is VERY VERY tiresome to read post after post from the same friggin people CONSTANTLY bashing everything and anything that is said,written,produced,released,etc.etc.etc. by George Lucas, you guys know who you are and I can't figure out why you guy's do not get the same treatment as this guy is here that started this thread.

I would be tired of reading thread after thread of idiots complaining about us complaining, but I am smart enough simply not to read them. Maybe you ought to try that sometime instead of bitching so much.

Or maybe I miss understood the situation, did I hear you mention something about a diranged SW fan who is holding a gun to your head and gleefully making you read these forums? You didn't? Okay then, yeah, stop reading and consider yourself freed.

Adywan, I find it funny how she posted a quote from the US constitution, the world doesn't exist beyond America for a lot of these kids. Even if they are 37 years old (which makes the facts that they can't see the world beyond their own front door and are complaining about someone elses unsatified customers even more sad).

OK I have come up with a concept for the LAST edit of Star Wars ever needed so you can all stop whining about what they did to YOUR Star Wars. (BTW pretty sure it still belongs to Lucas)

Star Wars

Empire Strikes Back

Return of the Jedi

The original unaltered versions, all given the treatment any modern home video release deserve. The end.

Lucasarts is proud to present a solution that will silence the naysayers forever. With Ultimate Star Wars Experience, everyone's version of Star wars is the best one! Get yours today!!!!

FIXED!

Just curious, but what is wrong with wanting your favorite movies on DVD?

I am also curious why you little joke had a video game company making a home video release, instead of Lucasfilm. Maybe you don't know Mr. Lucas' various companies and their functions very well be cause you and too busy kneeling withyour head in his lap...

DEBATE ROUND TWO!
Time

McCain is a funny man. Obama has also been known to make my side hurt at times (Obama: "My Muslim faith--" Interviewer: "You mean your Christian faith". Obama: "Right, yeah, my Christian faith" that one had me in stitches, good stuff). They'd make a really kick ass comedy duo, I think they should both give up on politics and go to broadway. It is ashame to see good talent lost. Palin could join them, all she has to do is talk and that accent will bust anyone up.

Both McCain and Palin have very distinct voices, both of which annoy me greatly. Maybe that is the real reason McCain choose Palin, so that he would have someone with a slightly more annoying voice than himself.

Damn, why can't politics really be about vaginas, skin pigments, and accents? The world would be so much less complicated... I think...

Yeah, they'll probably try to shuffle it and then hope it fails. Unfortunately for them, in an age of TiVo and DVR's, it doesn't matter the date and time that the show airs, it'll still get watched.

Fox just doesn't seem to like Sci-Fi shows.

I wonder how shows like Family Guy (during its first run), Futurama (again, during its initial run), and Firefly (the one that was unfortunate enough not to get a second chance like the previous two I mentioned) would have faired against Fox's death warrants had they all aired in the age of DVR and Tivo. I know the Nelson's ratings wouldn't have looked any better, but surely more people would have watched and given an uproar when cancellation was announced.

That is a very good point, seems like they'd need to keep the Haitian next to him all the time, or cut off his head, oor something along those lines. It has always been very interesting how Peter has the scar, has to be something pretty unique for it not to have healed.

From article silverwook posted:

"The one-hour new series premiere was the #1 program from 9-10 p.m. among all major kids networks in kids 6-11, kids 2-11, tweens 9-14, teens 12-7 and persons 2+"

I am really not surprised. The "movie" did bad because parents didn't want to dish out ten dollars for a ticket. And so many people were unsure about it. The TV show was free, so anyone could feed their curiousity for free.

Not surprised it is the highest in Cartoon Network history, as it is kind of a niche station, Star Wars is a popular franchise, so I am sure it has pulled a lot of non Cartoon Network viewers in.

So that is why that little bit of light is peaking out from under Artoo's dome on the screen cap on the previous page... Kenny is there looking around.

Now every time I see Star Wars I am going to think of Artoo being plastered with porn on the inside. Gives new meaning to several lines in ANH (originally refering to the plans inside artoo), but I am too tired to make any good jokes about it.

I wouldn't add FX to the viewscreen, but maybe a light glow?

That scene is on the screen for barely a few seconds, not sure adding a light glow to the view screen would even be worth the tiniest effort.

That image in the view screen is quite interesting though

"BRING BACK STAR WARS" Channel 4 UK documentary coming soon...

I am watching it as I type this. I am really enjoying it, it is a lot of fun. Pretty ridiculous, Justin is total idiot, but the whole thing is a lot of fun to see.

Hearing Billy Dee going on about the sexuality of his sceens on the skiff in Return of the Jedi is... confusing... interesting... not really sure what words to use to describe that...

I have also decided that Carrie Fisher's house is... amazing. After seeing this, I am suddenly much more fond of her than I ever was before. The fact that she would have SW curtians, Leia statues around her house, and Ewok soap, is really cool.

Star Wars Galaxy
Time

Those old technical journals were frantastic, I always wanted to buy those, but never felt them worth the price tag. Maybe I'll check ebay or amazon...

Since finding the SW Galaxy mags, I dug through my old stuff and found a box full of old SW magazines I collected over the years, I've got a decent collection of old Jawa Traders, I used to love those things. I also have issues of Toy Fair and Scrye with SW covers (used to really be into the SW CCG), a few Nintendo Powers with SW covers, as well as a few issues of LucasArts old mag. and an issue of TIME with the cast of SW on the cover. So many memories.

Reading these really makes me think about how dumb it is to even waste breath on complaining about the prequels. SW was all I could have ever wanted it to be when I was the age that it mattered, at that time it was at the peak of awesomeness as far as I was concerned. It was about the time I was getting to the age that I wasn't so into it anymore that TPM came out.

The other day at the grocery store, I saw a kid looking at snack food with Clone Wars character on it, and suddenly he got all excited, he started walking and talking like a protocol droid and calling his mom master. It made me smile. I couldn't help but thinking that I hope that kid gets as much enjoyment out of that stupid franchise as I did when I was a kid. The Star Wars you see today is not the Star Wars I grew up with, and I am fine with that, it is just a memory now, something that glimpses of can be seen by peering into boxes stored away in my basement, and that recollections of can be shared with people who grew up with it in a similar way to myself, like many of the people on this board. What more could I ask for (other than a real DVD release of course)?
