I have been trying to combined Halloween and Halloween 2 into one long movie. I don't seem to be having any luck with it whats so ever. So I was think, that may-be this would be something you might be interested in doing. I have been trying to combined the long version of Halloween (the extended TV version) with Halloween 2. If you can just get your hands on the orginial Halloween, that would be cool, too!

This project has already been done. By ADM, I believe. Go to myspleen and search for it.

Weird Lines With Womble
Time
Hi all,
I was tinkering around with some stuff in Womble. Two different movies on two different occassions, both from DVD sources. In the final output by Womble, both times, there were weird faint verticle lines all across the video. Does anyone have any idea what this could be from? Do I have some settings off? Should I use another program instead? Any help would be most appreciated!

Evangelion anime Project (Released)
Time
Here's a little more info for ya. While waiting for materials to come in for the extras disc, I spent more time working on the "super secret project." I have finished the full-motion video that will play in the background of the DVD's menu. You can download a low-resolution version at my blog (link to my blog is in my signature). The file is about 20megs in size. Enjoy!

Spirited Away
Time
Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite of his films with Spirited Away as a close second. Come on guys, the dubs Disney has produced for these films aren't that bad. They are actually quite good. If you go in expecting to hate it, then you will. But next time watch them with an open mind. You may enjoy them!

I just wanted to ask, can one of you Eva fans confirm this: my understanding of the asian DVDs is that the Japanese Renewal box was limited and is now out-of-print. I was wondering if you can clarify; are the individual discs of the Renewal collection available separately? Basically I want to get the remastered version of the series. In terms of the Renewal bonus disc, what have you left off this disc BrikHaus81?

The discs are available separately, and for substatially cheaper than if purchased in that limited edition boxset. Otherwise, they are identical. If you plan on getting them all, make sure you get the DTS Collector's Edition boxset for the films (if you have DTS capabilities because it doesn't include Dolby Digital). The sound mix is incredible. It really blows away the previous DD 5.1 and 2.0 mixes.

As far as extras, I am including everything from the Bonus disc except for a couple of trailers for other films by Hideaki Anno and a lame live-action music video. Trust me, I've got all the good stuff going into this disc

"Troy" Re-Cut (Released)
Time
Sounds like you have really done a lot of work on this. As someone who has extensively studied ancient Greek literature and civilization, you can imagine how appalled I was by this movie. In my opinion, this movie is utter shit and unable to be salvaged. But I commend you for attempting it.

The only thing is, I noticed that you are dehumanizing the Trojans to make us like the Greeks better. As far as your edit goes, this is a good thing. But I just want to comment that this was the only aspect of the movie the original film-makers got right. In the "Iliad" the Trojans are protecting their home from an invading force and represent "good, old-fashioned values, protecting their families" (so to speak). The Greeks are meant to be shown as outsiders, in a murderous and impious light because they are later cursed. Agamemnon gets murdered by his wife on his return, among countless other stories taking place after the seige of Troy. Basically, showing the Greeks as "bad guys" was important because it was a morality play to teach others not to do those sorts of things in war.

But that's just a long tangent. I still think your edit will work well and will probably improve a horrendous movie. Cutting out cheesy lines will definitely be welcome. But if you want to keep the "Trojans as good guys stuff," then you will be retaining some of what was in the "Iliad."
