Is the Force ghosts behind Rey scene available without the purple lightsaber in HD? Personally, I like it more but it goes against canon too much for me so I’m planning on removing it.

Of course, if the crackly saber edit gets finished by anyone, and two versions are made (blue Leia saber with crackly Anakin saber and Force ghosts and then alternatively purple Leia saber with crackly Anakin saber and Force ghosts), that would work too.

The Jedi Force Ghost is the climax of this edit alterations: so epic 😄 Even if I understand the reasons not to include him, I wouldn’t have minded Anakin to be along Leia, Luke and Ben during the last shots.

AFAIK the only things we’re waiting on are jonh’s haircut for Luke and kewlfish’s crackly lightsaber (hopefully), but v1 is releasing very soon without them.

You can even see through real-world history that a lot of common technology now was developed out of war necessity. Nothing else drives innovation like it so it makes sense to me at least that war would push the scientists harder to develop new hyperdrives.

I don’t understand the issue with this, it seems perfectly reasonable to me for technology to develop over the course of the timeline. For example, in the PT era, Anakin could only get a metal hand but by the time of the OT era, Luke could get a real-looking prosthetic. So I don’t see why hyperdrives couldn’t be progressed into being small/cheap enough for a TIE fighter.

I mean, I think Poe’s character development in TLJ was more about learning to become a mature leader. Doesn’t mean he can’t still do risky shit on his own

(FWIW I really liked the lightspeed skipping scene)

I’m still holding out hope as it’s my favorite/the most important edit to me.

All the work put on this edit is incredible and i appreciate all the effort, but i really can’t enjoy the movie with that twist, that “twist” cheapens the whole trilogy for me and makes the whole Rian vs JJ tug war situation more glaring.

I can’t understand why so many of you have a problem with Rey being a Palpatine. For me, it’s the only possible explanation why she is so powerful. I like the character of Rey, but in Part 7 & 8 it always bothered me, that she was too strong and powerful. But when it became known that she’s a Palpatine, everything made sense to me.

Except it doesn’t explain why she has the knowledge of how to concentrate to use the Force and also how to use specific Force abilities despite never being taught how to use them before. I know, I don’t want to set up an irrelevant flame war, but I’m just pointing something out.

This is what people meant by her being powerful and also untrained.

Honestly, I always figured it’s because her and Kylo are a dyad of the Force, meaning she’ll know how to do wwhatever Kylo knows how to do and vice versa. Therefore, even though they’re two seperate individuals, in the force they are one… as Palpatine put it.

Yeah this is what I think too. Like how in TFA Kylo mind probes Rey and then she does it back, or in TROS when she heals him and then he revives her.

I’ll also be making me own edit based off of Hal’s, maybe I’ll do a thread for it too later. Like you I’m mostly just putting some things back in and shuffling a couple things around.

I’ll have to figure out how to match the color correction for the stuff I put back in though :S not sure how to do that lol

Cool, I think I’ll use that minus the Castle shot since it’s ruins by then (looks great though!).

And while we’re talking about the green mist, Lesser’s version starts when Palpatine steps down rejuvenated but (going from the first discussion about this) I think the most important part to make green is the mist around Palpatine from 0:52-0:57 as that’s when he’s actually performing the ritual/power

If you combine the green mist, skenera’s LUT, red Force lightning, and Leia’s purple lightsaber, Anakin’s saber might be the only blue thing remaining from the overly blue original cut lol

Way more mist than I imagined, in my head it was just a bit of mist around Palpatine only for a couple seconds, not a fog machine filling the entire citadel lol. I like it as a concept though and yeah I’d probably increase the neon-ness(?) of the color
