PODCASTS
Time
Actually, it's not "news you put on your ipod." It's an encapsulated web broadcast. Can be music, news, entertainment, sports, anything. But they're typically done by amateurs who would have no hope of ever being on TV or radio who just talk about subjects near and dear to them because they love it. However, pros have started to join the fray and now we have a glut of people who are heard very commercially also doing podcasting. Podcasts are posted for free download on the web. You can typically use RSS feed aggregators to find them and autodownload them to your computer or MP3 player. It can play through an audio player whatsoever as they are usually just MP3 files.

I listen to Bears Blitz (Chicago Bears), NFL Rants and Raves, Ebert and Roeper, The MIX Morning Show, Skinny on Sports, Diggnation, Cush: Things I Say, iTunes New Music Tuesday, MrJerz Does the Podcast Thing (friend of mine), NPR Sunday Puzzle, Podfinder, PodQuiz, The Mac Observer Mac Geek Gab, and Winecast. All are available through iTunes and elsewhere (except iTunes NMT and Podfinder which I think are exclusive to iTunes).

If you want to see what's available, you can use sites like Odeo.com and Podcast Pickle, should you not want to use iTunes.

I don't care about the beating the crap out of men part so much as I do the body-hugging gear part. I've never seen either of the TR movies thus far. Just watch scenes here and there on mute. Lovely, lovely woman.

Thank you! Someone else who feels the same way I do. Thanks to Nanner as well. Didn't mean to leave you out of the thanks. It amazes me how much they exploit a story of disease in an area of the world where vaccinations and immunizations are few and far between.

The comment indicates that "generally" he is a risk taker but that could be interpreted to mean that, in this case, he won't despite his "propensity." It also indicates that there may be other forces within the organization pushing to get TO and that Jones may not have as much say in it as you would think and that he is willing to work through it should he wind up stuck with TO.

I'm hoping my brother took part in the deal that was offered on Black Friday. He was going in to get his fiance a new cellphone at Best Buy and I told him that if he wanted to pick me up a birthday gift, he could nab me seasons 1-3 of The Shield. They were going for only $19.99 each. Great flippin' deal.

I enjoyed this past episode as well. It has picked up a bit the last few. Hopefully, we will soon get some resolution and that they don't just drop the ball on several of last season's mysteries.

SPOILER

Does Shannon's death mean we won't be seeing Walt's ghost anymore?

Laptop Briefcases?
Time
Plus, the backpacks make you less of a target for thieves and muggers. Laptop briefcases and messenger bags tend to be targeted more often because of the likelihood that they carry what people think they carry... a laptop. If you use a backpack, that doesn't have logos or something that outwardly declare that it is, in fact, a laptop bag, then you minimize your chances of being robbed. Much like how thieves target people wearing white earbuds because the odds are that it's connected to an iPod and not something else.

This will be the one and only time you hear this from me... Don't Blame Microsoft.

(that hurt to say)

It's been well known that an average of 20 units would be received per store (320,000 units/16,000 retailers). For these stores to have accepted preorders and then allow everyone to camp outside is just ridiculous. They should have allowed a top-out preorder count of 10-12 for release day and the rest be told that they would receive from second or third shipment. Then, after removing the preorder units from your inventory, you print up tickets for the rest that you give to the first however many people you have in line. And you make it clear to everyone else that they may as well go home because they're not getting one.

It's stupidity is what it is. On the part of the stores.

Well, the Rangers are technically Arlington. Despite it being a suburb, it's like calling the Angels some ridiculous name like the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim... oh... wait...

Who the hell are the Burn and the Sidekicks? Do they count as pro sports?

No way will Sony do any better with the rollout of the PS3. This is the way that VG system rollouts have been happening for years. It guarantees a sellout for the limited number of systems that are in the initial run. It's not as though they can't do it, they just won't. Looks much better to investors to see "sellout" than "overstock" or "demand" as opposed to "supply." Give the hording masses too much and they don't care. Look at SW marketing. Lucas could take a lesson or two from Sony and Microsoft.

I say screw 'em both. I want a Nintendo Revolution. With that and an online account, you will have access to all the original NES games on your Revolution. I know I could do an emulator, but I have yet to find an emulator I like that runs fluidly on Mac.
