Terminator 2 Full Frame Color Correction (ON HIATUS)
Time

I beleive its mostly disliked, but IMO, it looks great, but needs some work on some scenes. There is a green tint that is noticable in the earlier scenes, but is still somewhat prevalent later on. There is a lot more detail here over the 2009 BR. The 09 BR is softer looking and pink in areas, while this one is sharp and teal. The new print is definitely my go-to until someone regrades it.

Here is a good comaprison between the old release and this new one.

The part when he’s talking about killing the sandpeople and Padme said “To be angry is to be human” and most of that scene was a DVD addition IIRC

Which parts of that scene were DVD additions?

The “To be angry is to be human” and the “I’m a Jedi, I should be better”.

Here’s a full list of stuff added, changed or cut on DVD and Blu-Ray

 • When Obi-Wan and Anakin speed through the power couplings, the shots have been swapped around on the BR
 • When Obi-Wan grabs Anakin’s lightsaber out of the air during the speeder chase, there were some more speeders in the shot in the theatrical
 • Shmi’s voice during Anakin’s nightmare was added on the BR
 • Padme saying “To be angry is to be human” and Anakin’s “I’m a Jedi, I should be better” after he kills the Tuskan Raiders was added on the DVD
 • More sparks have been added to Jango’s jetpack after the Reek stomps on him on the DVD
 • When Padme falls out of the gunship into the dunes, a clone trooper asks her if she is alright, in the Theatrical she says “Yes”, while in subsequent releases she says “Uh huh”
 • Dooku’s escape has some rearranged shots on the BR
 • During the wedding, Anakin’s hand wasn’t CGI and barely moved in the theatical before being changed to CGI for the DVD

There were some colour changes too from the DVD to the BR, mainly a blanket green tint. Just from looking at the Centropy copy, its clear that the DVD is more accurate to the theatrical colour timing

If you want the IMAX cut, I think it’s been remade and put up somewhere, probably on the Spleen or something. But I’d be interested in a scan of the 35mm. It’d lay a lot of rumours to rest, mainly the extra speeders and the Jango Fett jetpack thing. I’d also be interesting in seeing the practical mechanical hand in better quality. I’d definitly donate to it

Guardians of the Galaxy - Colour Regrade (Released)
Time

I watched the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie last night in antipation for Infinity War, and I had remembered the video essay about the colour-grading of Marvel movies and how most of them look pretty flat and I noticed it alot. So I thought to give GOTG a little colour-grading of my own to remove the grey look. I upped the saturation, crushed the blacks and played with some of the other settings to make it look like it does here. Top is original, bottom is mine

After tracking down the original VCD and figuring out how to extract the .mpg files after many fail attempts, I decided to somewhat clean up the ancient bootleg. I put it back to 2:39.1 from 4:3, did some minor colour correction to make it a lttle less washed out and adjusted the perspective so it wasn’t at an upward slope.

(^ The prosthetic hand only twitches its fingers a few times, accompanied by subtle mechanical sound effects, before panning up. In the digital and home media versions, this is replaced by a CGI prosthetic that takes her left hand.)

There are a few small differences between the theatrical and subsequent home video releases as there always are with Star Wars films, so I thought this would be worth doing.

Mr. Plinkett's Prequel Reviews Remastered in HD? (TPM & AOTC - done; ROTS - a WIP)
Time

If you’re looking for a higher quality version of the interview segment, they uploaded some outtakes here that are partially footage from the review, but mostly unused stuff

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbFCM3vK7iY

If you wanted to Lucas-ize it, you add some of them back in and make Rich Evans walk over Jabba’s tail

Mr. Plinkett's Prequel Reviews Remastered in HD? (TPM & AOTC - done; ROTS - a WIP)

I started doing Part 1 of the Phantom Menace review, and just when I was nearing completion, that same video popped up on Youtube. I did contact Jack on Reddit about it, and he said to use the email, but I never got a response.

I did do a somewhat decent job redoing the trailer for the edit though

It would be nice to have them in HD, so good luck with this

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **
Time

I’ve noticed something new in ROTJ in that Vader has Luke’s lightsaber during the duel on the 2nd Death Star. It’s never mentioned in the film or referenced to except the novel.

alt text

Apparently after Vader knocked him out of the rafters, he drops his saber and Vader picks it up. Which is why he was hiding under the stairs. He gets it back with the force and the fight continues.

alt text

I’ve always just assumed he was meditating or something under those stairs. But this is another change I think would be simple for ROTJ Revisited

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

One thing that I’ve recently found out about Vader’s TIE Advanced, it that the front window’s continuity doesn’t match up between the interior and exterior.
It was faithfully recreated in everyone’s favourite Battlefront 2 (2017)

It’d be nice to have this 2nd TIE Fighter window related problem fixed in ANHR:HD

Batman Forever - Dark Knight Edition (Released)
Time

I think I have an .iso of it and I haven’t watched it in full or am even sure if this is the same edit, but it looks bad. The whole thing has a blue tint and has been desaturated to the point where some scenes are black and white and others are too dark to make out what is happening.

Here’s a few examples of what I’m talking about https://imgur.com/a/cHpSm

Again, I cannot say if this is even the right edit

The Terminator (1984) - Original Theatrical Mono Preservation (Released)
Time

My best advice is get any US Region 1 NTSC DVD release. You could probably get one on Amazon for like $10. Doesn’t matter which version or which cover it has. The mono will be there. I don’t have an audio file of the mono for you to use so telling you what’s changed isn’t gonna help if you wish to use the sound effects in your mix.

If I recall correectly, the DVD had compressed audio compared to the laserdisc which was far superior.

So if anyone does have that laserdisc file, please share
