The more I think of it the more it makes sense to remove the torture droid altogether.
Vader is a Sith Lord and one of four Force masters left in existence so why would he use drugs when he can play with minds?

Vader says her resistance is great and Obi-Wan later explains the Force can only sway the weak minded but it would make more sense to remove the droid and maybe replace it with a close up of Vader’s eyes (if a suitable Vader mask can be had) or maybe his hand in a Force using gesture like the TFA trailer (I haven’t seen the film yet so no spoilers please).

Having Vader trying to probe Leia’s mind unaided would build his character and Leia’s while backing up something Ben would do later do in the film.

Exactly we aren’t asking for the SE to go away we just want our OUT back (OUTback sounds like a good campaign title BTW).

Similarly we don’t want the PT (which are currently also only available as special editions) to vanish. We need to buy them to make fan-edits. In fact the more released PT elements the better.
There must be loads of alternate takes and unused footage for them which would be nice to turn up someday in HD so we can play with it.

Sometimes suicidal thoughts have a physical cause which can be corrected by just taking a few tablets for a short period of time.

Talking to someone is a good sign though. If you were sure suicide was what you wanted to do you wouldn’t need to talk about it so clearly you have doubts that you need to explore first.

I think the Star Wars silly name thing reached it’s zenith with Savage Opress and Yarael Poof.

There are some very good online courses where you could read articles, watch videos and ask questions of other students and course leaders on forums like this one.
Some of them give certificates at the end but you could use them as practice for completing your officially recognised qualifications. For Example https://alison.com/learn/maths or https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/numeracy-skills.
Something like that you could do in your spare time at your own pace and then return to gain your official qualification with more confidence knowing that any interaction with your fellow students would be like here. Where your anxiety levels are hopefully not as high.

You say that your current unhappiness is largely down to the state of your home.

Break down what needs to be done into smaller and smaller processes until you have a thing that you could do right away or very soon.
If you rent your home use the internet to find out what the legal responsibilities the property owner has and get them to live up to those responsibilities.
If you own your home or your home owner isn’t living up to their responsibilities to you, document the current state of the problem with photographs.
If you have any local friends or family that are contemplating giving you anything for Christmas direct them to give you money, supplies or help to repair your home.
Either get a repairman in and keep the receipts if you intend to bill your landlord or use the internet to gain the skills to repair the problem yourself (these skills may come in handy getting paid employment in the future so contemplate any training schemes along these lines you could do in the future).

If you ruminate on the state of your home and how that makes you feel, you will feel worse. The act of doing anything is self empowering. It takes your mind off of what is upsetting you and takes you in a direction towards being contented.

Work towards the outer limits of your anxiety levels don’t try to run beyond them but edge nearer away from them and you will find your genuine psychological boundaries will expand albeit slowly.

In the short term imagine the best your current home could be and then break it down until you can identify a step you can do right away. I suggest the doors would be a key priority as winter is coming and you want to feel secure and keep warm.

I’m all for adaptations doing things differently. The sadness is that the book (like Dracula which has never been filmed properly) is so filmable as it is.

When I read the book I see practical sets that could be built. I see special effects that could be done convincingly especially now.

Maybe when Game of Thrones finishes we will get a proper adaptation on television (Sci-Fi did the first three books sort of okay sadly they didn’t get to do the God Emperor).

I don’t think they will remake the existing prequels but I think through their spinoffs they may well make prequel films which could be accepted as replacements by those fans who don’t like the current PT.

Rogue One is a direct prequel to ANH you could even count it as a new Episode III if you like. It covers events mentioned in the open crawl of the first official film made in much the same way that ESB refers to the Death Star being destroyed in ANH.

Even the retcons are pinched from Herbert. Luke and Leia both being twins and their father being a prophetically awaited hero driven to tyranny after the death of his wife. That might not have been the plan in 1977 but it’s what happened later.
It’s a shame Vader didn’t have a sister to profit from a cult set up in his memory that could become possessed by the spirit of the Emperor.

In the New Year when the models are finished it would be nice to see a photo mockup of how the models would eventually replace the obvious matte paintings in ESB and ROTJ, no finished footage but just single frames to show the potential improvements.

I support the Maul/Grievous merge (I would have called them both Darth Vader just to muddy the waters even further). The PT suffers from villain pop-up. Maul and Grievous aren’t characters, they are level bosses. Merging them gives the other characters an accumulated history with what these shapes stand for so in a sense making them more like characters or rather a character.

While remaining as close to the right side of the law as is arguably possible.
Not to mention on the right side of site policy.

The idea of the thread is to think the unthinkable. Almost every edit limits Binks so adding more and changing the character over time gives us another what if scenario to play with.
The great thing about these ideas threads is it does’t take that many man hours to think something through.
Rendering extra Jar-Jar or adapting the character so he can be bigger and less pointless however takes time and effort.

Just watch Star Wars and ESB then go in and watch TFA imagining that it was the third film and it refers to grand events that were not seen in the cinema and see if that make the new film an interesting “episode 3”.
