The "Name that Movie/TV Show I Can't Name" Thread
Time

Mark’s Down On Your Syntax said:

My friend and I watched a movie sometime around 1992/3 and I remember the cover had a boy on his bike (which we decided was a good enough reason to rent it). The plot was about the kid being transported to a dream-like world that was made up of (it seemed like) bits of other movies. The villain was trying to steal the colour from the world, or something.

I’m reasonably sure the title was the boy’s name followed by adventure, or excellent adventure, or amazing adventure.

This has been niggling at me for a VERY long time. Any ideas?

EDIT: The villain also sang a song about stealing the colour!

Could it be Last Action Hero (1993)? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Action_Hero

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place
Time

I’ve got half a dozen friends going through suicidal crisis at the moment and while I am really glad they feel comfortable being open about it and I’m using whatever knowledge and training I’ve had over they years to try to help, I just despair at how cruel the human world can be that so many people think I’m worthy of turning to for support. I wish I was more useful, more resourceful, more wealthy and could boss the twits that control everything around more (without shrinking them to death).

I recieved once a letter with a nickel enclosed. The letter was advertising a charity and it said “This nickel can provide lifesaving support to disabled veterans!” and I laughed because they decided to give me the nickel instead of using it to provide lifesaving support to disabled veterans. Imagine how many nickels have been wasted in this advertising campaign.

EDIT: Just remembered that this happened twice.

If I had a nickel for every time this has happened to me…

The Dream of the Giant Fractal Woodlouse.
Time

I dreamt that my current neighbour volunteered to trim the hedges of my childhood home which had somehow become edited over the current iteration of Chateau Bingowings. They had an epic hedge trimmer more akin to those giant swords in Japanese computer games (Final Fantasy 7, Silent Hill 2 etc).
He cut everything down to about an inch over the ground. It looked like a bomb had gone off.
