Adam and Eve, the patriarchs and Jesus were still Aryan last time I looked but they had friends of all colours and species and really clean vegetables and big too.
I’m told the give blood stickers work if you really can’t get the gumption to politely ask them to stop coming.
Seeing as the blood service are prejudiced I’m in two minds about promoting them. I’d probably veer more towards the promoting them side to be honest but anyone can have a blood disease so test the blood don’t jump to conclusions.

When I was a book illustrator most of my time was just making dots. Either with a pen, a brush, a chisel or a stylus. Tiny tiny dots or scratches that looked like dots.People seemed to like the end results (the creative bit was in the planing which presumably someone else proscribes to you in a professional setting). I like a certain amount of repetition in my life but that aspect was a bit of a chore.
I constantly doodle. I’m lucky to be able to draw with either hand so I’m never away from a pen and a piece of paper. It does add to my tendency to typo though. Other people colour in or write poems while they do something else. Counter to what I was told at school it’s now been proven to aid concentration.

We get a heck of a lot of Jehovah’s Witness missionaries calling. In the past they would travel in pairs. Usually an old lady with a younger lady and now with a presumably married couple. They would always come very early in the morning when I had a long stressful evening. And always in the rain. It seemed very cynical. Most of the people living around here work shifts so waking people up to see an old lady getting wet is bound to be confusing and play on the natural desire to shelter people. I’ve been told not to let religious callers into the house so I always feel uncomfortable though I try to be polite. I know they feel the need to do it as part of their religious duty but with rare acceptions I never go for anything advertised like that. Their pamphlets also play on the fears of death and illness that the increasing aged population have in these parts.

Does anyone have the same problem as me?
Time

Caring for someone with dementia can be very frustrating. My partner’s mother was a difficult woman to get on with before she got Ill. She would often try to lure him into abusive situations by use of her legacy. This used to upset him because he was self reliant and proud and just wanted to have a relationship with his only remaining parent, without the blackmail. So for many years they stayed apart with her pretending to have moved back to America at one point. Out of the blue he got a very shakily written letter saying she had had multiple heart attacks (plus the usual nonsense about the will). When he got there they had some moments to reconnect but she was miles away from where we live and we don’t have a car so visiting her was a whole day thing. He then found out his cousin had been aware of the illness and the increasing vascular dementia for years and had been pressuring her to change the will in his name. Or had he? It’s hard to tell with dementia sufferers what is real, lie, delusional or reconstructed narrative based in all three. Then the calls from the police started coming. She would use her free bus pass to travel from town to town and report her son for stealing from her when he was many miles away at work. This was very stressful and his drinking got very hard for me to handle. She would also try and give her things away to strangers and promise to leave her huge legacy to taxi drivers. She was terrified of dying alone so my partner worked with social workers to get her residential care and a financial guardian. She seemed to get on well there. Eventually she did die. Leaving him out her will as we all suspected but at least she wasn’t confused or prey to exploitation. There should be local groups where you can meet up with people in a similar situation and exchange coping strategies. If you don’t mind me asking do you know what kind of dementia your grandmother has?

I would hate a Star Wars anime.

That’s racist!

Genreist certainly. I try to avoid soaps and team sports. I couldn’t even watch Robot Wars because it felt like the robots were hurting themselves for the entertainment of humans. But many of the sci-fi shows I enjoy have elements of a soap and I like sports in movies. Despite the stupid looking aliens and the comedy deaths I thought the Pod race was one of the most Star Warsy bits of the prequels. I would watch a Star Wars anything for a few episodes. I’m really enjoying Rebels despite the cutesy art style and the eighties style morality messages. I need my spectacle with enough narrative that I feel that the event isn’t current and my narratives with enough spectacle for the same reason. I find people in distress that I can’t help anxiety making even if they are fictional.

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to complain and rant about my problems, but it helps to type it all out. I’m not the best verbal communicator, especially when stressed.

That’s what this thread is for!

With the anxiety some of the advice given to Mike O by Darth Ender etc overlaps with your situation. Make sure that the Doctors treating your skin also know about your anxiety. For one reason, while totally understandable under your current set if circumstances anxiety can be both a physical symptom and a side effect of medication. Also they would able to determine if a medical treatment would be available that wouldn’t clash with your current treatment. That you are starting a new job while this is going in is impressive. I would probably find it too much personally. Does your work day involve journeys back and forth where something creative like art, writing or photography could be a distraction?

Sadly getting skin cancer once statistically makes it more probable that you will get it again (though everyone can and should take as much steps to avoid it as possible and get anything unusual looked at).
The one positive is you are one of the few clued up about the possibility and do get regularly checked.
Men are particularly bad at reporting things wrong with their bodies.
To have this happen on top of everything else must be particularly bad for you.
Like old fibber Kenobi. I don’t believe in luck.
If you keep doing things likely to point you in the direction of positive change the tide of fortune eventually goes back to being of benefit to you, probably.
Allow yourself space to vent, you have every right to complain but don’t give into despair. Chances are your skin Cancer will clear up, you will find financial independence again and you will turn this corner.
Do you have people of your own age you can talk about this unhappy medley of misfortune with (real people not internet people)?

I just experienced a crippling pain in my right lung and any attempt to inhale was extremely painful. It went away and now I’m fine. It happens occasionally so I hope that isn’t an issue that I’ll have to spend a ton of money on.

As someone who died of pneumonia caused by a fungal infection in my lungs (I got better). I would recommend a doctor looking into that. My symptoms were a sharp pain in deep inhalation and uncontrollable coughing after exercise. Don’t just stop at the first GP either. GPs are great for entry level diagnosis of common ailments but if you still feel wrong keep pressing. If you feel in any way febrile, if your temperature goes up or down get to ER or A&E.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN OBJECTIVELY BAD FILM

Just the same as:

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN OBJECTIVELY BAD ICE CREAM FLAVOR

Flavor would be in comparison to a genre or style. I think an ice cream recipe would be a better comparison when speaking of a specific film.

I never thought of it that way 😃 Even better solidifies my point

Marmite flavour?

May I add you are making a lot of progress in a very short period of time.
Hopefully you will build on it more over time and look back at the progress you made with well deserved pride.
If you can switch it off a bit that’s some serious moves away from not being able to switch it off at all which seemed to be the state you were in when you first told us about it.
