Is that anything like a Raspberry Fool?
Is that anything like a Raspberry Fool?
Thanks Jonno. Time travel made a bit easier (with a bit of divergent universe hopping on the side).
Bossk’s peeps were in the Cantina. Though his mask is much more articulate and his toes were impeccable.
I didn’t see that coming
I’d love it if Maul and Ben ended up as pals and Maul ended up being killed by the Empire.
My problems with Into Darkness all center around the unbelievably poor writing. Abrams has a long history of employing bad writers and then overcoming that with style over substance. To him, as long as it feels right, it doesn’t matter if it makes sense. The writers don’t have even a basic grasp of science. Back in the first film, a single star goes supernova and that literally threatens THE ENTIRE GALAXY.
Look at the introduction of interplanetary transporters. It’s incredibly stupid and something that’s far too advanced for even that period of time. Just transporting something between two planets in the same system would be miraculous but to do that between planets that are in completely separate quadrants of the galaxy? Virtually impossible. Not to mention the rippling effects that would have on galactic civilization as a whole. Who needs starships when you can beam to wherever you need to go even if its on the other side of the galaxy.
Then you have Khan’s miracle blood that can bring people back from the dead. Solely introduced just so they can ripoff WoK and then immediately bring the character back to life afterward. Completely undermines the scene and is unfathomably cheap. Then the miracle cure for death is immediately swept under the rug and will never be brought up again.
I won’t even get into the idiocy of Benedict as Kahn. It was a crap script for a crap movie.

One thing GL did right in the prequels, he saved the Vader reveal for the end. It made a much better ending than any of the prequels before it. I think JJ might have copied him a bit when he saved the Luke reveal in Ep 7 for the end too.
Not in my book.
I would have had Anakin missing assumed dead by the beginning of Episode 3 and Vader pretty much as we see him in Episode 4 only helping the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi wearing a mask to hide who he is. Something that becomes more necessary when Kenobi makes him go all meltyburnburn.
I would have done this by having Anakin a young adult in Episode 1 with a wife who isn’t a queen that he gets pregnant before running off to be trained as a Jedi by Obi-Ben.
I’d have given Mon Mothma Padme’s role but not Anakin’s bed.
That way when you see her in ROTJ it’s a call back to the heroes of the first episodes.
Just in time for me to not only forget my password but also my username. It’s days like like this that vex the soul and tax the memory.
I’d largely make a list like Moth3r’s. There a lot of great scares in there.
I would probably drop The Orphanage and/or The Others as you get the same kind of gentle scare from The Devil’s Backbone.
I also don’t find The Conjuring that scary for something similar but more weird and unnerving I would watch either the under rated second Amityville movie or Burnt Offerings or Let’s Scare Jessica to Death
I would add more Asian Horror like A Tale of Two Sisters or Spider Forest.
I would probably add Old Dark House in because it’s Universal but strange.
I would also make room for REC (the first one) because it’s the only found footage film that really scared me, it’s a much more satisfying film than Blair Witch.
Plague of Zombies, Mask of Satan and Masque of the Red Death are visually astonishing too. I’m not sure what I would drop to make room for those though.
And any list that doesn’t have Nosferatu needs Nosferatu in it.
The Haunting (not the remake) and The Innocents are also great Halloween films full of atmosphere. The list needs more Val Lewton. Everyone goes for Cat People I prefer The Seventh Victim but Karloff is amazing in The Body Snatcher or Bedlam you can’t go wrong with anything associated with him.
Over this period the long lost cut of Exorcist III will be finally coming to home cinema so that will hopefully still be making me jump at the right moment.
I had a weird dream that I was watching a UK television series with plots along the lines of the film version of American Psycho and the television show Hannibal but made with the grotesque comedic tone of Hot Fuzz or Midsomer Murders. It starred John Barrowman (of all people) playing a user of people who casually tortures them and kills and steals their money and Celia Imrie played the mother of one of his victims and the chief thorn in his side. Her character was the leader of a group of people hounding the Barrowman character but she was just as nasty. I was a bit disappointed to find out the show wasn’t real as I wanted to watch more of it. Despite not being a big Barrowman fan.
He was really good in this show… in my head.
He sounds very much like my friend who had the stroke. He was like that for the first few weeks. If you keep asking him questions and give him a few hints now and then he will improve. If he ever had creative interests Like drawing getting him some pencils and a large pad will help. Even if it’s just making marks on a page. It gets hum to manipulate something. Ask him what food he likes. I got some pre-cut apple segments and shared then with my pal and it was like he had never eaten apple before. The look of surprise and delight. I hope your dad recovers well.
Good.
Vorlon sock confirmed.
Best wishes to dads everywhere.
I am not a universe… I am you
Oh you mean A Rededicated Missile Hypnosis?

Directive 5 : Don’t speak when phoning nervous women
I’ve started watching Smallville as I found the DVD sets for the first nine seasons for a pound a pop in a charity shop.
Watched the first disc.
It’s tonally more grim and slower paced than I expected.
I’m hoping the monster of the week thing will tone down. Lex is a very interesting character.
The soundtrack is very intrusive though.
Don’t analyse it too much. Just take advantage to the boon to do other things which you have been wanting to do for a while but haven’t been as able to do.
Yes I remember seeing that at the double bill. I also remember people assuming that ESB was Star Wars because they forgot that they started the same way.
"Subject 1138"
Wow, they weren’t even trying. What are you talking about? THX in jokes have been going on since before Star Wars even. It’s been a Lucasfilm tradition.
Looks Nubian.
We recently discovered they have an entry for arthritis too.
In the UK ESB was a U.
You could scope the face of Mark onto the baby’s head but it would be a lot of work for very little payoff.
Relieved to discover this thread isn’t another collection of photos of Will Smith swallowing rope.
