The Place to Go for Emotional Support
Time

In response to graveyard visits. Our loved ones are as much in their graves, urns and niches as our feet are in the sock drawer.

It’s a good place of focus. I like to talk to my dad’s stone but he isn’t in there he’s in my head all the time. I can imagine his reactions to things he would never of seen during his lifetime. I hear his humour. I can sense what he approves of and what he doesn’t.

If anything death has brought us closer but it takes time to adjust to the new kind of relationship.

It was the anniversary of his death day last week so he has been in my thoughts more than usual recently and he too had to go through Cancer. It’s not a winning idea.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

For me the ultimate extra, either for this or for ROTJ:R would be a short film by Ady about how to get something of this nature done.
Covering the pitfalls, the lucky breaks, the lessons learned the techniques in practice, the team work etc
There are so many films that could benefit from this sort of redressing.
The Alien films loom heavily in my mind here that it would be inspirational for other editors to make a short about the making of revisited.
I love Harmy’s breakdown of the sources of his reconstructions, something of that length and scope would be ideal.

The Dream of the Giant Fractal Woodlouse.
Time

For the second time in my life I’ve had auditory hallucinations when waking.
It sounded like there was loud R&B music being played directly into my ears and then an Afro Caribbean male voice said something (in the manner of a DJ I guess).
“Don’t be alarmed, something good is going to happen soon, keep smiling” something like that.
For a moment I felt like someone had sneaked into my room and put headphones on me because the music and the voice felt so real but that’s sleeping disorders and long journeys to work.
Cool weirdness though.

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place
Time

Over a year ago I was pressured into taking out a gym membership because my partner was not working and didn’t want to hear me exercise at home.
I didn’t mind that.
The gym was great, well equipped, the staff were friendly.
I got this job and I love my job but it means I’m hardly near the town where the gym is and they don’t have a branch of that chain in the city I work in so I tried to cancel my account.
I was directed to go online to cancel it but I couldn’t log onto the site.
I tried to change my password but the verification system went into a loop.
I wasted hours trying to get the thing cancelled.
I took to Facebook and whoever was manning the desk gave pretty awful sneaky reasons for getting more money out of me.
I cancelled the debit.
I will probably be pursued for more money for a gym I can’t use.
But you know what, I got paid today.
I worked hard and well in a job that improves lives.
It’s sadly a souring of a sweet day that good people like the people that work at that gym are being managed by incompetent boobs. That and Tom Baker isn’t well. I hope he gets well soon.

The more I see of Krennic the more he reminds me of JeJerrod in earlier and superior draughts of Revenge of the Jedi. I wish there was a way of making JeJerrod less weak in the final film.

Somehow make his deleted scene in the third act HD and reinstate it into the film.

Not really enough though is it? I would replace him with a new scripted performance.

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time

Whatever your feelings about ROTJ the performances of key actors are not up to the same quality as the earlier two films. Obviously it’s impossible for a fan editor to go back in time and direct new scenes with … You know who… And ahahham fnmm but what I suggest is we have strong hard look at the scenes with those characters in from the early films and see if there are aspects like inflection or voice pitch that can be altered. Some shots like the doors to the Hoth base closing work with slow camera movements and less dialogue. Can these sorts of camera moves be simulated by reframing the character in full HD to be smaller in frame and zoom into picture elements knowing that the final outcome may be in 720p? Cutting individual words adding silence or natural human emotive sounds (sighs, tutting, intakes of breath etc) might as nuance to some very flat performances. I suggest an audit of the greatness of the first two films from a character performance perspective.Looking at acting, dialogue delivery, camera work and lighting. The goal being to get the best out of what we can use.

I asked this question earlier and I think it kind of got glossed over, but I was wondering if the 3ds max project could/would be made available so as to create custom crawls that will fit in with the revisited series? I would really appreciate it. Thanx

That’s up to our 3D guy Andreas. I’m sure it’ll show up eventually.

is there a way to get ahold of said “3D guy Andreas”?

or if not that at least could you tell me the fonts you used for the crawls so that i might be able to recreated the technique myself?

He did say that we could still keep in touch with him by tapping the table…and postcards.

you meen like Benedict Cumberbatch isnt karn… ?

An utterly ridiculous comparison. JJ lied about Khan because he thought it would make for a fun surprise in STID.

This is a completely different thing all together (not to mention a film JJ is barely involved in).

He lies, he lies badly about stupid things, just like Ben Kenobi.
