The Place to Go for Emotional Support
Time

When I took on my new job on day one I met this amazingly resourceful and driven lady who had set up a website to help people find help with their mental health problems. Some people didn’t take to her personality style but I was instantly impressed by her. Her daughter had suicided the year before and she was finding financing the site difficult, much of the time she was propping it up with her own money. I can see her face right now as I type this. The look of “what is this” as I poked my head around the door and said hello. A couple of weeks later she was dead. She took her life. The pain of being without her daughter too much I imagine. Now she can’t help other mothers like herself. Her daughter’s pain and death became hers and that light won’t come back on in this world. Suicide is not a good thing. You don’t have prevention courses and emergency hotlines for good things. Every suicide is the murder of a potentially happier healthier future person. If you feel the temptation to kill yourself think of the best you you could possibly be and remember he dies too.

Sometime ago the squeeze was not in work for a bit and found the sound of my Jane Fonda style home exercise regime too annoying.
So I got a gym membership.
I paid a little extra so I could take breaks now and then while visiting the folks down south and it was quite a nice arrangement.
The gym was well equipped, the cleaning staff etc were friendly and helpful.
I got this job and they don’t have a branch where I work so I thought I would suspend my account.
The lady at the reception told me to use the website to suspend it so I tried to log on but it kept telling me my password was wrong. So I tried changing it but I was caught in an endless loop trying to prove I wasn’t a robot.
I ended up being directed to multiple sites, being pushed to download an app on my phone which I haven’t got space for and finally getting some really sarcastic comments from a representative on facebook.
I just lost my temper and cancelled the debit now they want me to pay £50 and are threatening to charge me another £25 every time I refuse to pay.
How can I go from being happy with them and wanting to suspend my account to be really furious with them and being robbed via so called service charges?
I hear this is common practice for lots of debit transactions so why is it allowed to go on?
I will never pay for anything by direct debit again.

Gosh, what a bad business. I definitely won’t be getting a gym membership with them.

Not to mention the travel time.

I had to spam their Twitter feed with negative comments to get a reply from them. I was told it was all sorted and the Friday I got another text message demanding more money, the guy on the phone said it was automated and should stop soon.

"No… wire… hangers.
What’s wire hangers doing in this closet when I told you: no wire hangers EVER?
I work and work 'till I’m half-dead, and I hear people saying, "She’s getting old.“
And what do I get? A daughter… who cares as much about the beautiful dresses I give her… as she cares about me.
What’s wire hangers doing in this closet? Answer me.
I buy you beautiful dresses, and you treat them like they were some dishrag.
You do. Three hundred dollar dress on a wire hanger. We’ll see how many you’ve got if they’re hidden somewhere.
We’ll see… we’ll see. Get out of that bed. All of this is coming out. Out. Out. Out. Out. Out. Out.
You’ve got any more? We’re gonna see how many wire hangers you’ve got in your closet. Wire hangers, why? Why? Christina,
get out of that bed. Get out of that bed.
You live in the most beautiful house in Brentwood and you don’t care if your clothes are stretched out from wire hangers.
And your room looks like some two-dollar-a-week furnished room in some two-bit back street town in Okalahoma.
Get up. Get up. Clean up this mess.”

Long-time lurker popping into say you kick imperial hiney and I can almost believe I have been paying attention to the progress of this fan edit for 8 years. The anticipation is tangible and quite fun to bounce on like a trampoline.

Cheers.

The Place to Go for Emotional Support
Time

I personally feel that’s 15 hours well spent at this point in your life.
You need rest and you need the support of others and I’m glad that you have both.
In time things will get better.
Forgive the hockiness of this observation but the word hope and the word home have always reminded me of each other.
On my bus back from work these days (45mins or so) I’m hurtling through winding bumpy twisty roads with very little in the way of street lights. The driver tends to have his or her foot down too so it can get a bit hair raising.
I am in the dark at the mercy of forces I very little control over and yet there is the anticipation of home at the end of the journey. A place of safety.
You too are on a strange journey. You have limited control, you can’t see much of the road and your consciousness is being bombarded with input that can be alarming.
Never lose track of the anticipation of your destination. Hope is there. You will arrive safe and well. If you can’t enjoy the ride endure it. It will be alright soon.
