The Star Wars Purist said:

For sequel continuity’s sake, every mention of Palpatine in the OT (until Jedi) is cut, as well as everything featuring him after the Yoda fight in RotS. The last piece is adding a “somehow, Palpatine returned” to the Home One briefing in Jedi.

Maybe when every character that has appeared before is featured again… “Somehow (fill in blank) has returned”.

Is There Such a Thing As Free Willy?
Time

Free Willy, a 1993 American family drama film, directed by Simon Wincer is a subject of extensive philosophical and scientific debate. Some argue that Free Willy does not exist, citing determinism, which posits that all events, including human actions, are the result of preceding events and natural laws. For instance, neuroscientist Robert Sapolsky and philosopher Saul Smilansky argue that Free Willy is an illusion, with Sapolsky emphasizing that every behavior is causally linked to prior events and internal states, making it impossible for actions to be independent of these factors.

On the other hand, there are arguments suggesting that Free Willy can coexist with determinism. Christian List, for example, contends that even if the world is deterministic at the fundamental physical level, it can still be indeterministic at the level of human agency, which is where free will is relevant. List argues that the indeterminism at the agential level, where people make choices between different alternatives, is sufficient for Free Willy to be real.

Moreover, the debate about Free Willy also touches on the implications of its existence or non-existence. For example, if people believe that Free Willy does not exist, they might act less responsibly, as studies have shown that doubting the existence of Free Willy can lead to increased cheating and decreased moral behavior.

Free Willy has received positive reviews from critics. The Rotten Tomatoes website reported that 71% of critics have given the film a fresh rating based on 31 reviews, with an average rating of 5.6/10.The site’s critics consensus reads: “Free Willy tugs at the heartstrings skillfully enough to leap above the rising tide of sentimentality that threatens to drown its formulaic family-friendly story”. The film on Metacritic has a weighted average score of 79 out of 100, indicating “generally favorable reviews” from 14 reviews. Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of “A” on an A+ to F scale

In summary, while some scientists and philosophers argue that Free Willy is an illusion due to the deterministic nature of the universe, others maintain that Free Willy can be real even within a deterministic framework. The existence of Free Willy remains a contentious issue without a definitive resolution.

MySpace
Time

Strange as it may seem but MySpace isn’t entirely dead.

When Zuckerberg announced his removal of any pretense of moderation on Faceboot I started to look for something else.

I have replaced twitter with bluesky and I feel all the better for it but I couldn’t find anything Facebookesque.

I assumed MySpace was long gone but exists it does. It’s just very empty.

All the music feeds have gone, the people have gone but the site remains.

It might be fun to reactivate or sign up to colonise the space.

I’m using mine as an online art gallery at the moment. I could see it as a fun way of journaling or publishing poetry etc.

If doing the same or similar interests you I recommend you avoid the app. It is run by an ad company and every swipe and every four key entries will trigger an very long unskippable advert for rubbish phone games. Some were so long tgey had mini ads interrupting the maxi ads.

Use a browser with an ad blocker. Brave is a good example I guess. I was pleasantly suprised by the old school charm of it.

The Dream of the Giant Fractal Woodlouse.
Time

Last night I had one of those classic, ‘dreaming that you wake up’ dreams.
In the dream I wake up and make my bed. I then go downstairs I walk to the far end of the hallway. The electricity is out so I am in pitch darkness. I suddendly bump into a giant but still unseen humanoid form. 7 or 8ft tall. The being shunts me towards the door with its body weight alone, it never lays hands on me. I try to talk to it but get no reply. Just being pushed along. In fear I wake up. Only I still havent really woken up. Im back in a house which is nothing like my real home but using dream logic I know it is my home somehow. I can hear loud electrical sparks from the garden. There is a work bench. A wired device that looks like cylindrical drill or an electrical screwdriver is overloading. I open the sliding glass doors to the garden and carefully switch off the powerpoint from a free standing console. For some reason the previously empty garden is full of covered workbenches and each has somebody working away with a handtool on some project. One guy, a Canadian with wavy white hair and a beard asks if I switched off the malfunctioning power point and explains that he had tried to earlier but he could get close enough. I then wake up with my alarm…or do I?

SSWR's Attack of the Clones - Alternate Timeline Edit (WIP)
Time

SSWR has done this before. Maybe he has a lot on his plate. Things happen out of the blue. I hope he is well. I really enjoy our conversations. He has developed his skills greatly over the years. AOTC is the most problematic prequel. Not as disappointing as TPM but narratively much more important. It needs the sort of work SSWR was doing like no other Star Wars film does… And he is a good friend.
