A fascinating read about why some people thought it’d be a great idea to elect a meme as a president:

Hello again I am 1chan, eldest of my father’s four sons.
As I said earlier, unlike my youngest brother I do not approve of the plethora of memes, photoshop fueled visual puns and puerile humour polluting the internet.

I ask again, please keep your posts reasonable in my presence from now on.

You just do not understand! Western society do to Mogwai what it has done to all of nature’s gifts.

As much as I’m going to get punished for this I would really like to see an edit where Grevious is replaced with Darth Jar Jar just to see what it’s like.

As a serious plot point or for irony? Maybe if both were dubbed by a new voice it could be a good twist.

Either as an extension of the existing apparent Stepin Fetchit buffoon character or as the conclusion of the arc of an altered character. I just want to see how this fan theory would look as an edit.

I’ll probably calm down and back off the booze soon anyway. I’ve gone back and forth a few times anyway.

That doesn’t need to cost anything.
It would be dangerous for you to immediately give up but keeping a record of your consumption and carefully reducing the trend of consumption (you will have bad days where you will drink more but if you can get the direction to point away from drinking you will make progress).

Why would it be dangerous for him to immediately give up the booze? You sound like you are talking about more than just the odds of failure of successfully going cold turkey.

Some people don’t like AA, some of it’s methods are a bit cultish to be honest but it can be a good way of getting support from other people.

I didn’t know that it was cultish. I do know it helped someone I know.

As I said before no two people are identicle but resigning yourself to being soon dead is unfair on the guy you may be in the future.

I agree with Bingo here. When Bingo and I agree on something, you know there must be some truth to it.

If being dead was a goal in life I doubt you would bother to tell people about it much. You sound more like you want to live without the reliance on the liquid holiday a glass can give.
Am I wrong?

I don’t know think you are.

Going cold turkey on booze can be lethal.
It’s best to slowly reduce the trend until the habit is broken and always with medical consultation and monitoring.
And yes while some people find AA to be helpful for others there are cultish elements so it’s not for everyone but other options are out there.

The Keaton one is crap too.

But, he is, Batman! Come on, Billie Dee “Lando” Williams, was in the first Keaton movie.
Sure it was a small role, but it was a great addition.

I’m sure Burton thought he was being clever casting Keaton but Batman is a tall intimidating character. Keaton is an average build comic actor who at no point feels like Batman.
He is okay as Bruce but that suit only underlined how inappropriate he is in the role with it’s thick unmoveable rubber neck and the stupid biker gloves. The script is awful too.

Most areas have something like a buddying system for people in recovery to monitor each other as for some people a group is not good fit.

You mentioned rolling back the Revisited Death Star Plans because of Rogue One. Just wondered if you plan on going back to the pink X-Wing engine glow too.

Yes, the engines are now pink.

Progress on the Wampa;

Started layering the fur onto the mask. A very time consuming task as this has to be done in small sections at a time. I’ll be gluing the fur onto the mask as much as possible and then hair punching the rest to blend in the edges to give a more natural look.

What made you decide to go back to the pink engines?

Rogue One having pink engines, without any excuse of film age or bad color balance. It’s purposeful and undeniable now.

If it’s because after studying the colour sources that pink is authentic then I’m behind it but if it’s just to tie in with Rogue One I’d rather Rogue One was changed to rouge. Red looks better to me but I’m a consumer not a creator.

Recovery is like a fingerprint or a tree. It’s unique to everyone because dispite the exterior of the brain looking superficially identical to any other the network of neurons inside is a complete one off. It has the same first step though. Mercy, compassion, that sort of thing. There is a potential human being who is reasonably contented, functions in acceptable way and wants to live. They live in the future. You can save this person from certain destruction. If this person was someone with a name different from yours in immediate peril you would probably do the necessary. So why is it different for your potential future self? A detox centre is one of many routes to saving this person. Not all of them cost money but they all take commitment, patience and self mercy. It starts with you saying to yourself I want to save you. Then finding out what is available with the resources you have. All the best.

When I first watched Blade Runner, I went in knowing I was supposed to wonder if he was a replicant or not. Turns out that I didn’t care either way. 😕

I don’t think he was originally intended to be. We know that Tyrell was. It is an interesting idea that the confirmed synthetic human is becoming more human because of his impending mortality and the death of his friends balanced against the supposed natural born human mechanically killing creations so human that he falls in love with one. The possibility that he might be artificial adds something to Roy’s taunts and Rachel’s questions about her memories and Deckhard`s profession. Making it obviously one way or the other was a mistake.

Does anyone have any idea on how Adywan and his team will treat the “a lightsaber… a Jedi weapon” dialogue phrase for the Prequels? Is there any way Palpatine will not use a lightsaber but only the Force in his duel against Mace Windu?

Maybe he will steal one from a Jedi, use it for a bit for giggles and throw it out the windu.

Have you tried cough drop?

Have you tried cough medicine?

I remember I had prescription medication that irritated my throat and made me cough. Could it be something like that?

Oh yes tried everything. Sadly lots of people at work have exactly the same choking cough. So I’m not being singled out by nature but it’s realy irritating.

" I just want to apologize to Mike’s mom, Josh’s mom, and my mom. And I’m sorry to everyone. I was very naive. I am so so sorry for everything that has happened. Because in spite of what Mike says now, it is my fault. Because it was my project and I insisted. I insisted on everything. I insisted that we weren’t lost. I insisted that we keep going. I insisted that we walk south. Everything had to be my way. And this is where we’ve ended up and it’s all because of me that we’re here now - hungry, cold, and hunted. I love you mom, dad. I am so sorry. What is that? I’m scared to close my eyes, I’m scared to open them! We’re gonna die out here!"
