Which model is this? Launch, Slim?

The first two were superslims (500g) the latest one is a Slim (180g) I picked up about six games with the refund vouchers I got the last time I took back games but they didn’t have copies of and one worked. I have to return the three Deep Space games (I got one to work briefly yesterday but I don’t know how) to ebay two games to Gamer and about 15 games to CEX.
It’s torturous. Either they gave me three dodgey consoles or 15 dodgy discs but what I don’t get is how different discs on differnet consoles can fail in the same way. I’ve never encountered anything like it before. It’s like I’m being trolled by aliens…again

Poe, I’m not an advorcat of the AA at all as a few parsecs ago my car just stobbed in a snow blizzard, the battery chose not to give me any more power …hang on. My bad, wrong AA.

In that case Kelly McGillis (top gun) is a member with the AA, even when she visits other planets as was the late great Robin Williams! And that is a real fact excluding the other planets ting.

I’m still impressed they fix cars too 😄

First Movie Seen
Time

My first movie seen in the cinema was :

It came out in 1974 but I get the feeling that I must have seen a reissue in 1976 as Star Wars was my second film.
My uncle Ray’s girlfriend Rose took me and we came in half way through and watched the beginning after the end.
I was a bit dissappointed because somehow I got it into my head that Cinema was like television but on all four walls.
I had a red apple which was given to me on the bus there rather than any cinema bought snacks.

Yes because he is a pretty accurate representation of the character at that time in the comics.

The 60’s Batman was a great show. I watched the reruns on TV when I was younger. I still like it, that I bought the Complete Series BluRay collection that comes with the Hotwheels Batmobile.

I wish someone would do a version of Superman where the title character is a complete dick to Jimmy Olsen and drives him to do some pretty bizarre things. It would be more fun than the current movies.

I’ve never read any of the classic Superman comics. I don’t like the current Superman, Batman, DC Universe movies. Man of Steel was ok, but waaaay too long. I slept through Batman V Superman. I have no interest in seeing Suicide Squad. I may check out the Wonderwoman movie, but even that ehh…

Did you like Christopher Reeves as Superman and any of those movies?

I love those movies especially the fourth one 😄

I might have to get a brand new PS3 if such a thing is still around.

Don’t know your location,

Scotland.

Just had a look at new PS3 prices on Amazon UK. Yikes.

Yeah Yikes indeed.
My goal is to collect games cheaply but they certainly don’t make consoles to last anymore. I’ll try taking it back again tomorrow after work.

Alien Isolation works but The Last of Us doesn’t. Aliens Colonic Marines (blagh) works but Little Big Planet doesn’t. Bioshock 1 and 2 don’t work but Bioshock Infinite does.
Uncharted 1 and 2 work Uncharted 3 doesn’t???

The firmware is up to date, the regions are correct. It’s apparantly a known issue, particularly with certain games (The Last of Us being the most notorious) https://goo.gl/sUzin5

I had fun with some games yesterday but I don’t want to get too comfortable knowing I will have to take this particular console back again.

I might have to get a brand new PS3 if such a thing is still around. Replacing the blue ray unit is beyond my techical skill set.

On Monday I thought I’d treat myself to a PS3. MISTAKE
I got the console with a fair wack of memory and quite a few games and plugged it in.
More than half the games didn’t work.
I thought that if it were some of the disks it could just be bad disks but more than half sounds like laser problems so I took it back and the guy was very apologetic and replaced it with another console. I took it home and the same games didn’t work so clearly it’s a disk problem after all so I took the disks in. They all got replaced and I took the alternate versions home and put them in the alternate console. Still didn’t work.
I reformated the hard drive, tried tilting the console. Nothing works. The same games don’t work on different disks in different consoles. I really wish I got a Wii U now.

Does anyone have any idea on how Adywan and his team will treat the “a lightsaber… a Jedi weapon” dialogue phrase for the Prequels? Is there any way Palpatine will not use a lightsaber but only the Force in his duel against Mace Windu?

Maybe he will steal one from a Jedi, use it for a bit for giggles and throw it out the windu.

Out the windu? LOL! Was that a typo? Hehe. 😄

Throw it out the windu with windu.

Sadly not accidental.

I’m sure Burton thought he was being clever casting Keaton but Batman is a tall intimidating character. Keaton is an average build comic actor who at no point feels like Batman.
He is okay as Bruce but that suit only underlined how inappropriate he is in the role with it’s thick unmoveable rubber neck and the stupid biker gloves. The script is awful too.

True, it was bad that the suit had no neck movement. Atleast Burton’s Batman suits didn’t have “Bat Nipples”.
Maybe it’s the nostalgia, but I liked Keaton as Batman. If Keaton’s not your cup of tea, then to each his own.

Do you like Adam West’s version of Batman?

Yes because he is a pretty accurate representation of the character at that time in the comics. I wish someone would do a version of Superman where the title character is a complete dick to Jimmy Olsen and drives him to do some pretty bizarre things. It would be more fun than the current movies.

A fascinating read about why some people thought it’d be a great idea to elect a meme as a president:

number 1 chan
Hello again I am 1chan, eldest of my father’s four sons.
As I said earlier, unlike my youngest brother I do not approve of the plethora of memes, photoshop fueled visual puns and puerile humour polluting the internet.

I ask again, please keep your posts reasonable in my presence from now on.

You just do not understand! Western society do to Mogwai what it has done to all of nature’s gifts.

I didn’t realize you were a fan of Charlie Chan.

As a child the BBC used to show everything, Silent comedy greats like Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd, Early serials like Flash Gordon, King of the Rocketmen and Buck Rogers and Charlie Chan, Rathbone Sherlock Holmes, The RKO Saint series, Weissmuller’s Tarzan, Champion the Wonder Horse etc all in marvelous monochrome.

I would have no problem paying for a television license for that sort of material.
They are of their time but Chan in those serials is taken as seriesly as Holmes is in his. His ethnicity is on display but doesn’t impact the integrity of the character. Quite progressive in it’s way.
The pace is slow for modern audiences but I would like a revival of the character as a period piece.
