STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Gee whiz, this one is really taking a long time (assuming I understand correctly and it isn't done yet)! I thought it was supposed to be released in April of last year...

What's taking so long? The first one was awesome, and I really want to see this one and ROTJ:R.

There were a number of personal setbacks. It is now scheduled for the last quarter of 2013.

I hope you don't mind waiting a while for the next one, as Adywan will be working on RotJ:R, ANH: R HD, and all the prequels at the same time. But, assuming what he has planned is viable, it should be worth the wait :)

I find it hard to believe anyone would want to do a fan edit of ANH, after seeing ANH:R and knowing an HD version is in the works. If it was one of the other movies (excluding ESB), I would understand it. Fan edits of ANH are extremely rare and ANH:R is pretty much THE definitive version.

Sorry, I'm using my work PC and can't access Vimeo here (only via the Android app on my mobile). Of the clip in question (a trench run display graphic entitled "Targeting Computer Redesign 2"), he says:

"I'm assisting with VFX for an under-the-radar redux of ANH"

Sure sounds like ANH:R HD to me. Unless someone else is working on such a project?

If I were Adywan, I would be looking to share the project with [.....] Aalenfae.

Remember this, guys. You heard it here first :)

If you take a look at Aalenfae's Vimeo account, there is an entry (with comments) that would suggest he is doing preliminary work on ANH:R HD.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

To me, 'timed with the release' means 'at or around the same time'. If the Celebration is scheduled before the release of the movie, I'm sure they would have said something like 'immediately preceeding' or 'leading up to' instead.

Both movies will be huge blockbusters and will be showing for several weeks. With Avengers 2 scheduled for May 2015, a slight overlap is inevitable.

But if they release Ep VII in April, at least it will be on its own for a few weeks before the A2 release.

Edit: Just checked the dates. A2 is out on May 1. If Ep VII comes out on April 17, it will have a 2 week head start. Still seems quite close to me, but it's got to be better than having both out in the same month.

Great news. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Ben Burtt announcement.

As long as Burtt isn't allowed near an editing suite. Sound YES PLEASE!, visuals no thanks.

Agreed. Although, judging from the TPM behind-the-scenes features, I got the impression Burtt simply edited the way GL instructed him to. And begrudgingly, at that.

Anyway, back on topic...

Will Williams still be around for Eps VIII and IX? I think it unlikely.

This sounds like a good PR spin

Indeed.

People tend to point at the PT and accuse it of looking too fake. However, models and real locations were used fairly extensively in the first couple of movies (TPM in particular). It was really only the third movie when GL turned lazy and filmed everything in a studio, against greenscreen.

It's not difficult to understand why people believe Abrams is getting itchy feet. This is the guy who initially turned down the job, has refused to commit to the scheduled 2015 release, and has bitched about working in the UK (saying it was making him 'crazy').

These things don't exactly fill me full of confidence in him.
