"Star Wars is the most overrated franchise ever."
Time

What he shot is pretty far from a disaster, that's just one of those dramatic "facts" that gets passed around a lot and becomes true. The greatest editor in the world will be the first to say you can't actually make a shitty movie great after the fact. George was sharp as a tack when it came to shooting what was necessary and possible and the actors are allowed to be loose and likeable. Thats pure good directing.

ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!
Time

There was a line cut out where they get into the Death Star and Wedge sees the big reactor thing and says the x wing torpedoes won't even hurt it. But the Falcon and its tricked out gunnery can. In essence it would not have worked if the unconventional Falcon hadn't been there. If that line had been left in it might have alleviated the idea that the same mistake had been made twice. (And made good use of the "character" of the Falcon as well and adding weight to Han's insistence on it being used.

Here's a dumb question, is Star Wars making enough money? The movies will be huge naturally, but is the ancillary stuff in trouble? I recently heard that the merchandising from Episode I 3D last year was the biggest retail disaster in the history of star wars merchandise (and the clone wars toys and ratings took a major hit even before that). Maybe disney is just taking a hard look at the numbers of everything that isn't a movie.

THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)
Time

I'm not positive but that quote seems to be referring to the trims and alternate angles and b roll that were used for the 2004 version when they talk about the '94 L.A. earthquake damaged stuff. The actual cut negative of the regular movie should be ok, normally it would have been in some midwest salt mine with all the other WB theatrical releases. Ideally.

30 years: Your Memories of Waiting for ROTJ

That was never on the cards for ROTJ though was it?

Back at the beginning when the Vietnamese as big apes were in the end of the only planned Star Wars film it might have happened but by the time that idea got to Episode VI they were always little bears.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think in the early stages (like late 80 early 81), the original wookiee concept was split into the very short ewaks and the really tall yuzzem. The ewaks were kind of creepy looking at first.

Cartoon network moving the show to Saturday mornings was a decision that predated the Disney thing, so I have to wonder how long the show would have gone on even with George still in charge. When Young Indy was canceled, he kept going with a handful of TV movies to wrap it up that showed on cable, which really doesn't sound much different than what is happening now anyway.
