Did the ESB menu problem ever get straightened out, d_j?
Did the ESB menu problem ever get straightened out, d_j?
Hey d_j, how are things going on the menu front? It's been quiet in this thread for a while now. Hope it's getting close....dying to see the finished product.
Can't wait!!!
Just checked my e-mail and got your message so you've got the right e-mail address on file. Don't know why I never got the other message from you, though. Anyway, those menus are fantastic and it's awesome that you're getting really close to completion on all of this.

Any luck with the menu guy helping you on ESB or ROTJ, dark_jedi?
You should have gotten an email from me a few days ago(I sent to all donators) with a group of menu screen teasers for SW and ESB, but yes he is back and I might have the ESB menu's tonight, fingers crossed, he said he would try and get Jedi done this weekend since it is a 3 day weekend.
Hey, d_j. Actually I never got an e-mail or PM from you. If you want to PM me or send the teaser to my e-mail address that would be great.
Any luck with the menu guy helping you on ESB or ROTJ, dark_jedi?
My thoughts and prayers are with Adywan as he goes through this difficult time.
It's a shame that the menu guy is taking so long to help you out, especially with the audio and video ready to go. Wish I knew something about authoring menus, but unfortunately I have no knowledge in that area.
Absolutely brilliant, Ady. You are the Master!
Been away from this thread for awhile so I just wanted to say great news all around, Ady. Glad to hear about your dad, winning all the cool tech and the Blu-ray version of your edit. Cheers!!!
Sent you a PM, dark_jedi.
IMO, the first clip(#1829) is indeed way too smooth when watching in motion. I think clips 1884 and 1942 are close enough that they're virtually indistinguishable and either of them would be a better choice than the first one.
Watched the clip tonight and to my admittedly amateur eye it looked very, very good. I think you're probably at the point(or very close to it) where there's not really a lot else that can be done. The source material only allows for so much improvement and as it stands this is leaps and bounds above the retail GOUT. This will be the best representation of the originals we'll probably ever get unless Lucas eventually relents and puts out a proper release.
I'm going to download the clip tonight and will offer up my thoughts on it tomorrow. Looking forward to watching it and comparing to the other clips you have released.
Regarding the latest sample in post #1884, I downloaded it and streamed it to my TV a few hours ago. What can I say? It looks AMAZING!!! There's no doubt in my mind that this is probably the best quality we'll ever see the OT presented in and I am very excited for that.
Edit: Nevermind.
I'm new to this thread, but I wanted to say that I just downloaded the 720p sample clip and streamed it to my 60" Pioneer Kuro via the PS3. I honestly can't believe that it was possible to make the GOUT look and sound this good. It's a shame LFL doesn't put as much effort into preserving the original versions, but that's a topic that has already been beat to death in these parts. Anyway, I would gladly commit now to donating blank BD discs for this project if it becomes a reality and I certainly hope it does.
Thanks for doing an NTSC conversion, Ady. Those of us in the States really appreciate your efforts.
Is there anyone else with the tools to do the NTSC conversion or is zeppelinrox the only one who can do it?

Thanks again for all your help and support. Oh and do go ahead uploading it anywhere you like!

Looking forward to seeing the DVD uploaded on a torrent site or usenet soon.
I'll also chime in and say keep up the good work, Ady. There are always going to be people that nitpick things to death, but as long as you're happy with the finished work that's all that matters. I, for one, think everything you've done on both ANH and ESB is absolutely brilliant and encourage you to spend less time listening to detractors and more time finishing this fantastic edit.

Heh heh heh. Good jorb, Mac. I've been holding out for the DVD so long, but I might grab that as I wait for an NTSC conversion.
Same here. I really want the DVD for quality, but this might be a good way to fill the time.
Add me to the "can't wait" list.

Really looking forward to this release.
