I am very proud of you padawan learner!

now can you post on what you are contributing please?

and I thought we were going to stop and leave this Ady's thread? not ours.

It was a good comeback and fitting since you're acting like a bitch for the last few pages. I'm trying to move on, but since you keep saying things like FU and I don't contribute anything I'm not going to be called out like that and let you have the last word. All you've contributed in this thread recently is taking the focus off Adywan's edit and acting like a dick to everyone who posts something you don't deem worthy. So, if you want to get this thread back on track, stick to the subject at hand and stop trying to police a thread that isn't yours. Last time I checked it didn't say Moderator under your username.

I'll gladly be ignoring you because you're a rude, obnoxious pain in the ass that thinks he owns this thread. It's Adywan's project so let him do as he wishes and quit interfering with your piss-poor attitude. Nobody died and made you king of OT.com or Adywan's project so quit thinking that you're in charge around here because you certainly are not.

Actually I would agree with you on those.....but at the same time do you have to keep being the mommy and feeding into the bull?

Actually I was referring to your comments imediatley after I posted the playback problems I was having like it was YOUR thread and YOUR decision on how to handle any comments being made. I have seen how Ady can think for himself and is very well respected around here by you, I and well...everyone else here. I was merely stating about a problem I was having and then I watched you argue with BMadden over something you do not know anything about....since you do not have a player like that anyway. Each person on these threads contributes something different and you should set back and look at how you are taking others contributions. Just because you have a lot of posts does not really mean alot. From what I have seen you spend a lot of time bitching at the people bitching.......I would probably have alot of posts if I did the same.

I get tired of coming here wanting updates and seeing all of requests that have already been closed as well. I also get tired of after every comment YOU make after them saying, "Make the XVid yourself", or "Learn the News Groups", and so on. Just do not mind or reply to those posts.

Unfortunaltely in the end I am doing the same thing to you that you do to others and I apologize......I am just tired of you bitching out others constantly.......it must really stress you out.

I will not speak anymore to this and like I said.....I am just as tired as you are seeing the bull.....but when there are fans here posting true problems that were not even being requested to fix but to inform others.....take it for what it is and do not turn it into something you can use to lash out to show how many posts you have.

Just ignore him, hemper. Apparently he has a serious "God complex" and everyone else in this thread is beneath him and doesn't do as much for the community as he does. I'm sick of his B.S. too and if there's an ignore function available on these boards he's going to be the first person to get on my ignore list.

I salute YOU for actually looking into it even though we did not ask you to. It is nice to know that you care more than most. I really do appreciate this extra effort as it does make since that you did find a difference between the PAL and NTSC settings.

You took the words out of my mouth, hempler.

Ady,

You're too good to be true sometimes. You go above and beyond what anyone could ever ask of you and I just want to thank you for all of your hard work and effort. You're truly THE MAN.

As for the redone version, how will we be able to spot it on a.b.starwars? Will it have a special designation? Also, I'm assuming that since you fixed this problem for the DVD-5 version that you're also making it so the DVD-9 will play on HD-DVD players as well. I can't thank you enough for all you've done, it's truly appreciated.

Actually, yeah I have compared it to a lot of other players. I've had several high-end Pioneer Elite players and the XA2 is better than all of them. I'm VERY picky when it comes to home theater components and the XA2 is the best upconverting player I've found yet. Oh, and by the way, just because the format might be dead it doesn't mean that all the HD-DVD players will immediately stop working and become obsolete.

One thing I will agree with you on........let's stop the back and forth about this so we can focus back on Adywan's edit.

but how is that hd dvd player upconverting Ady's Star Wars DVD for you,I bet not as good as an OPPO or a PS3 LOL

validated that is a funny one, coming from a player that will NO longer be supported in ANY way LOL.

Of course you're not going to argue it with me because you know you're wrong. The reviews from owners at AVS and Home Theater Forum aren't paid for by the way, they're from people like myself who actually own the player and have compared it to everything else on the market. Also, I have an Oppo player as well so I was able to watch the edit just fine last night. I'd prefer to watch in on the XA2, though, because it's the best upconverting player on the market. Period.

Back to your regular programming.

You might beg to differ, but you'd be wrong. As I said before, I have the XA2 and it has pretty much been universally praised as the best upconverting DVD player on the market. Read the reviews and you'll see this claim validated.

Edit: I see hempler already beat me to it.

Well, one person used Memorex discs which aren't cheap no-name media and still had a problem on his HD-DVD player so I think it's something with the players. I'm going to try the DVD in my HD-XA2 tonight and see if I encounter the same issues. It worked fine on my Oppo upconverting player, but then again that machine accepts every disc I throw at it so that shouldn't come as a surprise. By the way, Ady, it was the NTSC version the people were having problems with.

I have an XA2, but I didn't watch it on that particular machine tonight. I watched it on my Oppo regular upconverting DVD player. I'll check it on the XA2 tomorrow night and see how it works for me. By the way, what type of blank media did you use? Some brands of blank discs don't work well on HD-DVD players(in my experience at least) and also it won't work well if you burned to a DVD+R instead of a DVD-R.

Adywan,

I just got done watching the NTSC DVD and I literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor when it was done. I've been following the progress of this edit since the beginning and all I can say is that it was more than worth the wait. It's the best thing to happen to Star Wars since............well, probably since the release of Star Wars!!! I purposely avoided watching the xvid because I wanted to enjoy the DVD version on my home theater and I'm glad I did because the picture and sound quality was absolutely top-notch. As for the edit itself, what you did with the Vader/Obi-Wan duel and the final battle is more than I could have ever imagined. You took those scenes to a whole new level and I was literally giddy watching what you've done. If I had one minor quibble(and I emphasize the word MINOR) it's that the interior of the Death Star seemed very desaturated almost looked like something from a black and white movie. I realize this was all part of the color correction process and that it was discussed earlier in the thread, but it did stand out a little bit and I found myself somewhat distracted by the lack of color. Aside from that, however, everything was perfect and I can't thank you enough for the time and effort you put into this edit. I can honestly say that anytime I want to watch Star Wars this is the version I will pick and I think that's the highest compliment anyone could pay to you. Great job, man!!!
