Moth3r: I'm trying to capture those two frames that are on your page but not the old one, but I'm not exactly sure which ones I'm after, they're both pretty tricky to eyeball.

I can get the V8 too, but it's the DVD5 version if that makes much of a difference.

Check out Shot 24 (Luke's blueish/white/green sabre training on the Falcon), every single LD capture has more detail in the floor grate, and shows the horizontal lines on Han's chair. Heck, even the '92 letterbox VHS beats it on that shot.

The prequels have always looked that bad =) I thought the same thing when I saw 2 and 3 on the big screen (and even when I saw 1 on the little screen).

On a side note, Darth Maul as Grievous would've been hardcore.

Heck, I've been watching VHSes lately.

We saw The Hangover Part II at the cheap theatre last month, and throughout the entire movie, you could see a bit of the previous frame at the top of the screen. First time I'd ever seen that happen =)

I don't know anything about this U-matic format, would it look better than Laserdisc?

Heck, would it even be widescreen?

Awesome, can't wait to watch this (though I do have the '92 VHS from the same transfer).

Are you planning on doing the other two movies later? And which THX set are you doing, or do you mean THX 1138?
