this movie is from the same guy who did the movie nixon which was overly dramatic one sided, and untrue to historical events.

typical of the lefties.

i'll ovoid this movie like the plague unless it is funny as an accident, kinda like farenheit was lampooning how stupid bush was, before family guy and american dad got in on the act.

You would be better off watching the movie (I didn't say pay for it) and making notes of all the inaccuracies. That way, when people like Arnie try to claim something as fact from the movie, you'll be well armed to dispel the myth.

Of course, that won't matter much I guess. Most of the people that go to see the movie will already have their minds made up and nothing anyone says to dispute the claims in the movie will change their mind. Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11 had the same effect and people continue to speak the falsehoods portrayed as facts from those movies.

A list of inaccuracies would be helpfull indeed (btw, is there a list for columbine and fahrenheit?)

But I'm seriously interested in this movie. I really like Stone movies like Alexander, Any Given Sunday, Savior, JFK and Born On The 4th Of July.
Besides it's also about the life of Bush as I understand and I like the guy when he's not playing President. It's a fun guy to hang out with.

We'll see if it's propaganda...

Can anyone provide a link to info about "black magic"? I would like to know more about what it is and what it does? I'm not even sure if it's a piece of hardware or software. I tried searching for it but I end up at sites for colorising b&w film/photo or something with little puppets and needles.

Since Iraq and the middle east is in a worse state than when Saddam was around, no, we didn't really gain anything through his downfall.

I can't believe that some people can possibly defend the war in Iraq. Okay, maybe some people had different expectations when they first went in there, but after everything thats happened and come out, theres really nothing positive to say about it.

That's exactly how I think about it too.

Is a "seamless branching" DVD of all the versions of a SW film possible?
Time
I've never found a piece of software to make tru seamless branching dvds (except maybe scenarist but I didn't understand that program).

What is easier to do if you have 2 versions of 1 scene is just paste them after eachother in the same m2v stream and during authoring make 2 different chapter playlist, each with one version of the scene. GOPs have to be closed. I authored with dvd-lab and the point in the movie where a chapter will be skipped was marked as a layerbreak. The result is that a pause can be visible on some dvd players. I solved this by editing the ifo file with dvdremake and mark all chapter points as seamless. I've tried it once to make an edit of Star Wars with deleted scenes and it played seamless. Only thing is you can get trouble with the audio track. For example, in Ep. 4 the Death Star battle has changed quite a bit. Sometimes the sound of an explosion continues in the next scene. But in the SE that next scene can be very different with different audio so you won't get a smooth transition. A solution can be to take a large enough piece of footage so it starts with the same audio.

Combining scenes to make a branching version containing basically 5 movies seems too difficult for me with all the different audio and also colors/saturation/LD source. I think some scenes will stick out too much. Maybe a bracnhing version of the OT and the SE but that's it. More would be too complicated, for me anyway. AOTC and ROTS with the option "deleted scenes" is pretty easy to make.

also the link posted above seems to be anti american rhetoric and propaganda produced by another country perhaps france or germany since they have language i cannot read above the videos, including middle eastern characters, which i am only familiar with the look of since they show up in bin ladin videos on the tv.

You mean the characters that change all the time? I think that's just to say the subs (or dubs) are in 19 different languages (which is written in 19 different languages).

Isn't this website and movie the work of Ted Turner?

I don't have a link. I don't think it's on the internet. And it was only broadcast in the Netherlands I think (so it wouldn't even have subtitles).

That kind of politics is common in mosts governments including the US government. And France was not the only one, Russia, Belarus and the Ukraine were also involved.
Besides, what did anyone had to gain from going to war with Iraq?

I have seen interviews with dutch UN inspectors who worked in Iraq. It is a fact that months before the invasion Iraq was cooperating FULLY and nothing was ever found. But Bush had long decided to attack and nothing was going to change that.
Sure, Saddam had WMD in 1988. After the first Gulf war I'm not so sure. Although not fully cooperating after the first Gulf war it would have been almost impossible for Saddam to make WMD.

Burning Dual-Layer Discs For The First Time
Time
Yes, the pioneer burners are very good. I've used them since the 102 model. I know have a 111 and a 112 in my pc (and I previously had the 102, 104, 106, 110, 111 and 112. I have burned hundreds of single layer discs and close to a hundred dual layers discs and I have never had a coaster. But I'm only using my pioneers in combination with ImgBurn and verbatim media.

China
Time
I love China as a country but I'm afraid the regime is trying to make China the world's only superpower. Really, Iran, N-Korea, Iraq, etc are no threat at all compared to China. The way in which China is trying to "conquer" Africa for its resources is also alarming.
I read this article about Chinese counterfeit hardware a few days ago. Makes me wonder how save my modem with build-in firewall is...
Maybe everyone in Firefly also speeking Chinese isn't such a bad prediction after all.

I always assumed because the NTSC version of Star Wars is sharper than the PAL version the same would be true for Empire and Jedi. But I was just comparing the NTSC and PAL version of Jedi and I think the opposite may be true. Looks to me like the PAL has a tiny bit more detail and is sharper. It also looks to me the PAL version has less "ringing" so maybe the "ringing" is introduced by the mpeg2 encoder settings. But I just compared a few scenes so I'm not sure yet this is the case for the entire movie.
I also assumed the PAL version was cropped a bit more at the top and bottom. Apparently I'm also wrong about that.
