Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

Those images remind me of the Extreme Ghostbusters.

EXTREME!

At this small scale, there's so much individual variation (different species, different ages, differently-colored lightsabers, etc.) that it looks artificial, forced, and manufactured.

(Plus, the colors of the lightsabers don't contrast well with the sandy terrain, cheapening the "coolness" of the effect.)

PS78: Pre-ANH Star Wars Bootleg VHS from 1978 ***"RAW" DVD RELEASED***

I get the same thing.  Almost like a hiccup that will freeze a frame for a split second and then go forward 2-3 frames.

Kind of like when your PC is pegged on CPU and is constantly trying to play catch up.

Weird! Can you try it in a DVD player?

I won't be able to look until very late tonight.

Are ya'll happy with the latest release or should I put in time to get something more "polished"?

I figure it's primarily a historical curiosity as well as a source of information for things like the cue marks, etc.

When i mount this on vlc i notice some tiny skips throughout the film, is this just my computer, or a syncing thing on the copy or from the original? It's not a dealbreaker. Just curious.

Skips? Are you describing when the video jumps up and down?

The transfer is quite wobbly.

In the age of Blu-Ray, I still don't understand why anyone would do a DVD-9 HD version in 2013. BD-25s aren't that expensive. Now, of course, BD-50s are still through the roof unless you import from Japan, but that's another story.

Not everyone has the $60+ to drop on a burner.

It gets even more expensive when you need a SATA3->USB3 external enclosure because you only have a laptop, etc.

ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!

ANH: 8

TESB: 8

ROTJ: 9

I wish to understand.

I'm biased by the fact that ROTJ is my favorite SW film.

... and The Last Crusade is my favorite Indiana Jones film.

Interestingly enough, Back to the Future II is my favorite of that trilogy.

My ratings are based on the amount of excitement I feel before hitting play. They're also based on how happy I am when the credits start to roll.

I watch movies/TV for the characters first and the storytelling second. This might explain why I only recently noticed the lack of creativity in the aliens of ST:TNG.

Who should the villain(s) of the sequel trilogy be? (if the sequel trilogy has villains)

Does anybody else think that they might not have Sith in the sequel trilogy so that people don't think of "unliiiiimited powaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!"?

I hope there aren't any Sith in the new films.

I'm sick of this Jedi vs. X (where X wants to destroy the Jedi) bullshit.

Snow White- Leonardo has a pre-restoration bootleg VHS with perhaps the most accurate colors (substantially different than any post restoration version, though I agree BD appears to be the best of a bad bunch)
