Just want to chime in on this. appreciate everybody who is involved with this project right now. I also live in New Jersey- the freehold area so i had to create and account and say hello.

I grew up in Freehold/Howell, NJ in a development right off of Strickland Rd. (Longbrooke Ln.—right next to Moors Landing)! Shoot me a PM with more information about yourself so that we can see if we know each other.

In the original Mega Man game, Elecman's theme music sounds like a journey song, and I don't care for journey.

That is what I would like to bitch about.

I'll one-up you. I want to bitch about the fact that the original Mega Man game doesn't have a password feature of any kind. You have to complete it in a single run.

Mega Man 5 is my favorite.

SUCCESS: Bit-Perfect Audio Capture!!!
Time

Interestingly, I get a bit-perfect capture using the following chain with my Late 2012 Mac Mini.

Runco LJR-II{TOSLINK output} =(TOSLINK->mini-TOSLINK cable)=> Mac Mini{mini-TOSLINK input}

(Hint: Make sure to set 44.1/16/disable in Audio MIDI Setup :-)

It only works with Cocko's Reaper (thanks for the tip!), but DTS Parser 2.0 breaks the file. VLC is able to read the DTS stream straight from the WAV. I wonder what I'm doing wrong...

I'm using the Strange Days DTS LD for testing.

As a heterosexual man, it is NOT okay for me to force my beliefs on you.

Let's stop speaking abstractly.

1. What exactly does it mean for a homosexual man to force his beliefs on someone else? An example or two is fine in lieu of a precise definition.

2. What exactly does it mean for a heterosexual man to force his beliefs on someone else? An example or two is fine here as well.

I believe the issue is with the word "force".  I would never tell my daughter she couldn't go to school with or have gay friends.  I would never tell my daughter she couldn't be gay.  Now, if I said, knowing she was gay, that she could not be and I tried to force her to be heterosexual .... that is NOT acceptable to me.

Does that help any?

Yes, it does, but what about gay people forcing their beliefs on others?

I've never encountered a single instance of this (despite having many gay friends), so I've no idea what it might mean.

Are you referring, perhaps, to the whole genetics thing mentioned earlier in the thread?

I'm genuinely confused and I'm not trying to argue one side or the other, so please don't think I'm trying to set some kind of debate-style logic trap.

THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)
Time

I'm getting very close to having everything in order for my THX 1138 captures.

My capture chain will be Runco LJR-II =(svideo)=> Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle (Thunderbolt).

The Runco LJR-II's builtin comb filter is better than my Extron YCS-100 because it was tweaked by MSB specifically for it, so that's one less A->D->A conversion in the chain. ;-)

I own three copies of the US LBX LD and I intend on doing a full median-of-three (basically, a TooT) with them. Thankfully, the Blackmagic Media Express software stops capturing if even a single frame is dropped, so I don't have to worry about any dropped frames in my completed captures.

Is it easy to manually IVTC this beast? How many wonky cadence changes does it have?

JEDIT: Also, do we have a bit perfect rip of the PCM track?

Star Wars on Super8 (Released)
Time

My #1 priority at this point in time is to make sure that my HDD isn't the only copy of this thing and the best (cheapest, too!) way to do this is via uploading it to Usenet.

x264 encoding is CPU-intensive and I'd have to devote 100% of my computing resources for too long in order to crank out a small-enough-to-download 720p stream. I don't have a render farm at hand. Plus, ResampleHQ (the only gamma-aware downscaler I have access to at the moment) isn't as fast as I'd like it to be, so that would most likely slow down things considerably.

I'm willing to pay the S&H fees, both ways, if someone would like to donate (temporarily or otherwise) a powerful-enough rig to crank this out in a reasonable amount of time. PM me if you're interested.

Star Wars Prequels 35mm 4K Filmized Editions by Emanswfan (a WIP)

I'm confused about this miniaturization effect. When VFX guys shoot models, don't they use lenses meant to make things not look like miniatures?

Yep. I think emanswfan is attempting to make the CGI ships more "authentic"-looking by making them look like real models that the VFX guys failed to hide the miniatureness of... or something.

The results speak for themselves. I think it works.
