Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Harmy said:

Yeah but there are copyright laws here too and all the major studios have their side operations here, so they could easily own my ass. Like the Czech guy who filmed the Simpsons Movie in a cinema here and put it on the internet. They locked him up. So please be careful with these kinds of things.

Ah, I didn't realize that. Thanks for the clarification.

I didn't (and don't) plan on doing anything that would require me to be careful, so don't worry about me!

PS78: Pre-ANH Star Wars Bootleg VHS from 1978 ***"RAW" DVD RELEASED***
Time

How's this one coming? :/

All five raw captures have been uploaded. I plan to upload the raw audio soon.

After that, I have to encode the merged-median-of-three to MPEG2 and then sync the audio.

Poll time!

1. Should I shoot for a DVD5 or DVD9?
2. Should I leave the audio as PCM or compress it to AC3?

The DVD is just going to be the instant-play kind.

An idea for Halloween....
Time

Nearsighted Scrappile said:

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had done or thought of a "blending" so to speak, into one film, the best (in my opinion anyway) elements of Halloween?

My idea consists of using the extended version of Halloween, followed by Halloween II in it's entirety, then ending it with the death of Laurie Strode from the first portion of Halloween Resurrection.

I know NOTHING about putting such a thing together, so how would any of you experienced folks do it?

I started to work on this a few weeks ago, but only planned to keep it to myself (and my wife).

I plan on using the extended edition of Halloween (with all of the TV scenes added-in) from the 2001 DVD and the extended edition of Halloween II (again, with all of the TV scenes added-in) from the 2012 DVD.

In fact, I purchased the new Halloween II Blu-ray+DVD release for this very project!

I wouldn't mind releasing it. Would you like it to be "our" project? If so, then PM me!

UPDATES

Sources

Halloween: Extended Edition (2001; Anchor Bay)

Halloween II: Collector's Edition (2012; Shout! Factory)

Halloween Homecoming (2002; Halloween: Resurrection bootleg)

Halloween: Resurrection (2012; Echo Bridge Home Entertainment)

Wanted: Technidisc (a.k.a., Smear-free '93) Trilogy: I now own it!!!

Nice to hear that you got a copy of your own, that went fast. :) Looking forward to see what quality you can get out of it, and if it suffers from the crosstalk seen on my copy.

Yes, it most certainly did.

I just e-mailed every SWE seller on Amazon and eBay to ask them for the mint marks and waited to see Technidisc's format :-)

I think most of the crosstalk will be eliminated by the comb filter in my Panasonic DMR-ES10, but we'll have to wait until Christmastime to know...

So was a "workprint" shown? That is, how close to the "final product" was the screening?

nope.

this was an actual screening of my spanish LPP 35mm print

in all its glory! synced to an english soundtrack.

Anyone here really good with Audacity? I have my raw unprocessed .wav of the audio I recorded, but for the life of me I can't get rid of the hiss and noise the way I should be able to. Any help would be appreciated.

A low-pass filter, perhaps?

Edit: If you go this route, be sure to cut off as little as possible. That is, try to eliminate the hiss and nothing else.
