It might be a better option for Jay to integrate this into the website.

For the film proper: What's the frame count of the new transfer vs. the old transfer? Are the two numbers equal after removing credits and front-matter?
I'm wondering if it's possible to use ColourLike...
Wait, rather than haloing, are those ringing artifacts?

Question: After looking at the comparison gallery, I noticed that you restored many of the matte outlines. Were there any that you chose to not restore?
Well, yeah, in a few cases where they were very barely noticeable in the original and restoring them would present a huge drop in quality.
Makes sense. Thanks for answering my pestering questions!
Wait, forget it, as I found one here: http://www.hardbat.com/puggo/pics/PG/005.JPG

Well, in a way you're right but then those burn marks are really ugly, in-your-face kind of thing, so if they weren't on the o-neg, it's enough of a justification for me to leave them out. The other similar things I did reinstate were mostly either in camera (like overexposure and stuff) or compositing mistakes (like that shot of Luke in x-wing) and were an inherent part of the VFX. Those burnmarks seem to be due to someone not being very careful with one of the IPs.
I understand and agree with your decision to keep them out.

Can you post an image of the composite with a layer of clouds from Puggo Grande?
Harmy said:
Yeah, I did. I'm still not gonna put the burn marks back; If there was an IP that didn't have them, then they can't be on the o-neg, can they?
That's correct.
My mistake: I thought you were trying to match the theatrical presentation, not the negative.
Harmy: I know you're busy, but did you check out any of the websites that I linked to in my previous post(s)?

Hopefully the ST will have a bit more of an ethnic mix in it's human main character roster.
Cutting and pasting the same Maori a thousand million times is cheating George.
It always made me sad to note that the only latin looking Kenner Star Wars figure was the first Bespin Security guard.
It would be nice to have an Asian lead character in there seeing as so much of the inspiration for the series came from the Orient.
They should go all-out... Extreme Ghostbusters style!

If you don't mind my asking what's the point in this if we have the IRC channel?
We were able to get 10 users. :)
I've never seen that many in the IRC room.
That's bigoot around here, mister!

Even if there's bigger and better things on the way, I don't think we should stop preserving old LD-transfers if there's improvements to be made.
Agreed.
Personally, I'm just interested in the best possible DVNR-free alternative to GOUT.

There's one questionsurprisingly no one asked about all this huge news... which is who the villain/antihero would be...
If I had any money (and I don't) I would put it on another dark jedi being the villian. You kind of have to have a dark jedi to fight the good guy jedi's. Maybe one of Luke's students switches over?
Can we cast Dark_Jedi? ;)
LOL! That's really frightening.

Mitt O'Bama is my middle name.
Dr. Bing MittO'Bama Owings!
Jonno: As you already know, this community usually prefers raw releases. If I were you, I'd release the pure preservation of the tape, if possible.
Is there a lot of horizontal jitter? If so, then I might be able to use my Panasonic DMR-ES10 to clean it up.

that's bs. Obama and Romney are very different people.
I'm both of them.
No.
You're Dr. Bing Owings! Mama wouldn't name you something like "Mitt"!
Also, this page is pretty convincing in demonstrating that the burn marks were present in the theatrical run.
For the record: Yes, they're in PS78, as well.
Harmy said:
I don't think they were, because they're missing in some pre-dvnr releases, so I'll be keeping them out.
The pre-DVNR (e.g., JSC) home video releases used a different IP. However, some (e.g., Technidisc SWE) did not.

I hope not. I can't stand those burn marks. The JSC doesn't have them.
True, but they were there during the theatrical run.
Harmy: How do you decide which "errors" to re-insert?

Choose any metrics you'd like, but be sure to have the data to backup your claim.
Unamerican so-and-so ...
Huh?

Why exactly are you putting this here? There should be no such direct links on this site, please take it down!!!
@AnctuFaalb: There's no list but all the changes are documented here: http://uloz.to/xCAaaEE/compar-gallery-rar
Thanks, Harmy!
I noticed that you re-inserted several "errors" (e.g., those vertical lines). Do you plan on re-inserting the infamous burn marks?
I won't waste your time with any more replies, but...
I am a Veteran and have done my time protecting this country to preserve the freedom you have to disagree with me.
Thank you. We may disagree on many matters, but I do appreciate and respect your service to our country.
Congratulations on your victory.
It's not my victory. Furthermore, I didn't vote for Barack Obama. I voted for Gary Johnson.
