OSX users:

note:  i'm not sure if it's necessary for success, but i first created CERTIFICATE and CERTIFICATE/BACKUP directories (empty) in the "Star Wars DE_2.1 AVCHD" directory.  and then i did touch * in that directory to make sure BDMV and CERTIFICATE had the same date.  then i follow the procedure at the above link.

i have a DL disc that plays on PS3 now!

As a solution for OSX users, I really didn't expect to open that link and find a command line solution.  LOL.  It is like the whole Mac vs Linux argument flipped on its head...

Not really. Mac OS X is more of a real UNIX than Linux is.

Hell, it even obtained UNIX 03 Certification (full compliance) from the Austin Group with Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard".

Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)

since ESB has thousands of frames with glue marks and such things. And very important is also to fix the color errors like purple/yellow lasers.

I think I figured out why the glue marks are so different (in shape and color) in GOUT TESB and ROTJ when compared to those in GOUT ANH.

A question first: Are most of the glue marks in GOUT ANH similar to the one at the bottom of NTSC GOUT ANH frame #12675?

Don't you just hate when people do that? I know I do :-D

We're all working toward a similar goal and poita has a lot to offer, as he has access to many accurate color sources. Constructive criticism is important.

With that being said, I agree with You_Too that his color choices should stay as they currently are. He's not color-correcting scene-by-scene and I think his approach yields the best possible one-setting-for-all result for all three films.

There’s not enough makeup in the world to make Fisher look human anymore.

I don’t understand why she would want to be in this film.

That is not someone who belongs on the big screen.

Stick to watching porn if you only want to see people who fit your narrow definition of beauty featured on the big screen.

Are you thirteen years old?

Still, he should focus on getting better source video than buying TV's based on gimmicks that make his bad transfers look better to him.  Making the TV show colors correctly so the v2.5 looks the way Harmy intended is the part of his question that is related to this thread.  Once he gets his TV looking right, then he'll need to address his bad looking DVDs, not muck up calibration settings.

Calibration is great and all, but you'd have to pull my 36" red-shifted CRT out of my cold dead hands to get it away from me!

Interestingly, it makes GOUT look wonderful when it's set to factory-settings.

I have not been a faithful watcher, but I hope to eventually get through it all. If they do not give anything more than bonus content for now, I hope that Disney/LFL will at least provide a second feature film to wrap things up. Sure, the first CW movie wasn't so great, but other incomplete shows (e.g. Firefly) can still be tied up surprisingly nicely with a well written movie (e.g. Serenity).

I hope someone does something like that for The 4400 one day. :-(

Frink's Digital Diorama [was: OT Deleted Scene Restoration Project?]
Time

ziggyonice: I now have everything setup again, so I should be able to restart my work on this project.

What would be helpful to have are:

1  shot-change frame numbers for each deleted scene

2  frame numbers for clearly destroyed frames in each deleted scene

3  a partner to correct (in, e.g., Photoshop) said destroyed frames

I don't really notice the difference between standard definition movies and HD movies unless the movies are really in bad shape (aside from the black bars on the sides of the screen). I think DVD quality should be good enough for the OOT re-releases. You guys should save your money. If you guys keep demanding more and more re-mastered releases, you'll be spending money to get a 4K resolution version of the OOT released when those tv's become the standard.

I'd gladly spend a few thousand dollars on a properly-restored 4K digital copy of the OOT.
