Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Revisited (Released)
Time

Order of the Phoenix Revisited follows in the same shoes as Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Goblet of Fire Revisited in that I overhaul and alter the movies with new SFX, music and effects with the sole focus on better franchise continuity and a better viewing experience.

Order of the Phoenix Revisited is finished, and uploaded. You can obtain it through PM.

I am sorry I didn’t have the time to start a thread over here this time around - simply due to a lot of work and focus on The Ancient Lore (Star Wars edit) and a lack of focus and time to my other projects. Full thread can be found over at fanedit.org .

Thank you all!

STAR WARS: Episode I - THE ANCIENT LORE [Episode I Remade /Proj started: 2014] (WIP)
Time

Subtitles will have to wait, as they will take up to a three weeks time. I have therefore concluded with a release date for today.

It is weird to say this, but The Ancient Lore is finished. The release was supposed to happen with subtitles ready, but the process at hand will take time and therefore I find it useless to have spent five years on this project only to let it sit silent for three more weeks when I could just as well release it.

Thank you to all who have contributed, especially beyond what can be expected, and the credits list is and will be added accordingly.

I accept PMs as from now on and out, and will respond accordingly. It is possible to stream the edit from my Google Drive, but I do recommend to download it for superior quality. And as always; remember to own the original product, and do not attempt to profit on this in any way whatsoever.

Be in the mood when you watch it please, and close your eyes - thinking it’s a brand new release and that you’ve never seen TPM before - and then open them with a fresh mind before you hit play. Only then will you be a Jedi.

Please enjoy!

Known error(s)/complaints as of now:

  • A repeated shot should be replaced with a new one (Agreed, and will be made from scratch).

I accept PMs from now on out, and will send out link (Google Drive - I recommend to download for superior quality) as soon as the upload is fully complete.

Congratulations!😃. So excited! When will the pms be available?

I’m thinking sometime from later this evening through to Thursday next week. It all depends on subtitles, rendering (which is now being done for the third time) and the upload.

I will have it fully ready for release within the hour or two, but then without subtitles. I have not yet decided if I’m going to release it without subtitles at first, as I’d love a “complete package” of sorts. But then again, it’s just subtitles…

Remember that The Ancient Lore will have two versions, one which is this - and then one final at a later time with whatever fixes that might be necessary, as well as alterations to (maybe) common complaints about something that people might feel was a bit off (a color tweak etc). This version will not be taking into account wishes for alteration to narrative, or completely new scenes. This I am settled on, and will be present throughout both versions. This IS the complete version, but with the possibility of the public/community to help sort out minor things for the upcoming complete version (with a 5.1 audio track).

Thank you all!

Neville’s Theme / Neville’s Struggle

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRlXb-ajca4&feature=youtu.be

So here is a video preview of what I think might work for an emotional Neville’s Theme throughout the series, as well as to better explain Neville’s background (as most viewers don’t get it the first time). A lot of fans have stated that the fate of Neville’s parents are so quickly brushed over and forgotten, that I tried to emphasize these points by adding back in a quick flashback from Sirius’s talk with Harry (to clear the point across that they died to Bellatrix), and also to create a much more emotional soundtrack that might evolve through until DH.

All of the previews look amazing!

Suggestions:
-I would like to see the classic train music from Sorcerer’s Stone return for the ending
-Maybe add some more flashbacks from the first 4 movies in the scenes where Snape and Voldi get into Harry’s mind to get
more continuity
-take out the “We fly of course” scene, Harry and the others wanted to use the chimney and it was possible after they got rid of Umbrigde. It makes way more sense, why they would fly to the ministry wtf
-Add a voice over of Sirius mentioning the fate of Neville’s parents (and maybe Bellatrix screams) when Neville and Harry talk after the DA meeting. It gets brushed over so quickly in this movie, I didnt even undertand it in the first few viewings
-Same with Susan Bones voice when Luna talks about Harry being able to use a patronus. It was originally Bones kid that
brought it up so it was a nice payoff and casting a patronus is a big deal in that universe
-Don’t add music for the big fight at the end, it is supposed to be silent

That’s all for now, good luck and keep us updated bro!

Those are some excellent and well-thought out ideas, man. I really liked them all. And you’d be happy to know I’ve added plenty of flashbacks already. Continuity is main priority for me!

The one I might not alter, although i definitely agree with your logic, is the “We fly of course”. The Thestrals have been featured and teased for a purpose since the start of the movie, so to simply just not let them serve a purpose at the end would falter that entire plotline.

Neville has gotten his own emotional theme in this movie as well - featured at key points in the story to add to his emotional struggle, and that idea of yours is brilliant. I’ll add that dialogue.

And yes, the battle at the end will have no music. It’s so tense and real, just the way it should be.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix [REVISITED] [w/ PoA]

PREVIEW CLIPS

PROJECT DETAILS

When I started out with my Harry Potter Revisited franchise, it was all about acknowledging that Harry Potter 1 & 2 were respectively out of date and non-consistent with the rest of the series. When Alfonso Quaron took over the helmet in the Prisoner of Azkaban he gave the series what they so desperately needed: a gritty, realistic atmosphere in an elsewhere magical fantasyworld. He grounded the series, much like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy grounded Tolkien’s fantasy books for the big screen; in what could have been an ancient, forgotten world.

I took Alfonson’s approach to Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets, as well as touching upon the two movies with new sfx, music, effects and colors, and alteration of the two movie’s pacing. Then, after a break, I started to commence work on a much more dreaded task - editing the Goblet of Fire (which I undoubtedbly think is the weakest link in the entire franchise) - and put Prisoner of Azkaban on hold (finding it to be a less complicated task at the time, therefore awaiting that project for another time).

Now, having finished Sorcerer’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets and the Goblet of Fire, I think it is time to complete the franchise once and for all. Work has commenced on Prisoner of Azkaban, Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince - all siminoutanesly.

PROJECT PROGRESS AND FURTHER DETAILS

Order of the Phoenix is actually one of my favorite HP movies, alongside Prisoner of Azkaban. The movie is fast-paced, often intense, and it has big stakes for our characters. I think the movie’s biggest flaw is its feeling of complete dissonence from the rest of the series, feeling much less like a Harry Potter movie and much more like a drama/thriller piece. Therefore, my biggest priority has been to establish a greater connection between this and the rest of the series - including remastered versions (by myself) for Voldemort’s Theme, A Window to the Past, Hogwart’s Theme, Neville’s (upcoming DH) theme, Gilderoy Lockhart’s Theme (now more of a Dark Arts Class theme), Quidditch Theme and more.

The movie has also been color graded to remove the heavy reliance on blue (just like the nightmare Color Grade i’ve been through on HBP, just way, way easier - more on that at a later time), and the pacing has been mostly kept intact; although some late-placed deleted scenes have been re-incorporated for emotional weight and a better closure. A lot of scenes has also been removed with Filtch, as I’m not fond of his complete turn to a clown in this paticular film piece.

I’ve also taken my time in creating new scenes (which can both be witnessed in the uncomplete Opening Preview up above, as well as the completed Dementor Attack preview). The movie has most of its scenes altered one way or another, be it color, SFX (which a lot of new sound mixes has been made), music, pacing, fixes or even alterations to a paticular object, character or background on the screen.

Let’s remaster this magic!

And like always; give me ideas, feedback and love! It will help perfect a product I think will be greatly enjoyed.

STAR WARS: Episode I - THE ANCIENT LORE [Episode I Remade /Proj started: 2014] (WIP)
Time

[UPDATE]

So in a time of Disney hatred, countless TLJ fixes and broken fandom I am getting closer and closer to the release of The Ancient Lore, which will hopefully bring back some old magic to the lacky prequel trilogy.

I have completed everything now, and I am just doing audio fixes. That’s really it. It’s insane. But I’m almost finished. It’s weird being finished, because you kind of have a feeling sometimes that the project is just too daunting to complete alone. But I have. It’s weird.

That being said, there will be a V2 version of the project, which will be the final. We are most of us with more than a foot inside the Star Wars community, and there will be suggestions, complaints and minor errors to be pointed out. I am sure of it. So there will be the final cut version, and the final version. The Final Version will be the V2, and then the project is finished.

I would never do two versions of an edit if it wasn’t for the fact that this project has been so massive that to just say “i am finished” and never touch it again would be unfair against all my efforts, and against the community that have followed the edit, awaited it and - most importantly - supported it.

Therefore, you can expect THE ANCIENT LORE within the upcoming month.

Thank you all!

Oh, and please remember; this shoot is taking place in the Midlands, in the UK. So, if you have mentioned that you were interested in giving it a go, it would not be worth it if you live outside of the UK i’m afraid.

What? I thought you stated you’d be able to fly me down there. I’ve taken vacation from job and told my wife to go to Paris and everything.
