Episode I: The Ridiculous Menace (FULL MOVIE IS AVAILABLE TO STREAM, SEE FIRST POST)
Time

TV's do you remember an edit from SSWR back then with the date contest that everybody tried to win padme's heart?

Its a shot that anakin mentions about some palets to quigon before the sandstorm and he is ignoring him repeatedly. Do you think this joke may come to your edit?

Hey bob, when Obi-wan heads to utapau have you thought of including streaking starlines shown from the interior of the cockpit just before his ship goes to hyperspace? You know, like this.

It would OT the movie just a little bit more

Idea: Star Wars Trilogy All in One Edit
Time

This would require some use of After Effects to alter the Death Star so that it will be the same in both the New Hope and Jedi footage and the planet will either need to be corrected so that it won't be red in one shot and green in another.

Yavin's moon is green/blue. the difficult part is to add the red yavin giant to all ROTJ shots.

Im very interested with this project. I hope it will be executed well :)

The grey-haired actor/extra who played the left of the two pilots of shuttle ST-321 in the opening scene, is in the very next scene standing right behind Moff Jerrjerrod in a uniform of another colour! I have (yet) not recognized the other pilot being anywhere.

Yeah he is the same. ROTJ suffers from the same officer cast. Its pity that they didnt do it subtly as ANH.

It's no problem. I guess people just simply have no opinion on this specific clip. I believe I've made a firm decision about it.... Don't need to sit on this one for too long.

Meanwhile I'm chopping the battle of Geonosis to pieces and working on CC tests.

Before

After

Still working on this.

Too heavy. They look like more fake now because they look blue.

Teal and orange side effect for those who hate Michael bay :P

I say remove the blues for the CC shot at least 75% Then turn the altered reds/magentas to an oranger one like the original.

I hope you dont have problems with the skintones otherwise it will look crushed and fake ;)

Interesting. At least it looks official and now we can have the excuse that is in a star wars game for originality.

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/jedi-knight-star-wars/712242

It might be a good idea for the kids(if any edit keeps them) have the train-y sabers like the one of the video(solid something) if not white as some others suggested :)

As far as changing up the angle of the DS, well, I just don't like it. I've looked at other angles and the second you turn it it just looks wrong. It doesn't look like the classic DS II to me. So, for now, it stays. Besides, I'm not terribly good at 3Dsmax yet and until that time comes, nothing awfully fancy.

Dont forget the dramatic lightning. ROTJ is terribly plain from light POV. Everything is a cheap set/prop crap.

Adding some nice dramatic mood to the death star shots like ANH did you might achieve some good "cheated" angles and new sides from the station. Besides ROTJ begs for construction close ups ;)

Aggred with Bingo. ANH's framing was masterful even with its simplistic aesthetics. Deathstar covered all the screen in shots like when MF tracked witht he beam. Massive!

Watching that you are borowed 3d models from Sci-fi 3d (credits goes there) i suggest that since you have the ablity to move them in 3d space why not have different angles with more dramatic impact.

Rule of thirds, curves instead of plains, diagonal lines and forced perspectives can give the depth and the mass of the Space station.

In your shots there is no overlaping and it seems that the Stardestroyer is massive against the DS.(overlap=distance=depth. All together=plain)

Also some shots i may be wrong but look visualy right. so you can try that path :)

okay, weird thing  i just noticed.

the ewok battle in ROTJ, han chucks a stormtrooper over his back whilst lifting his blaster off the floor, except there are two on the floor....

Yup. If you have notice 005 list i have noticed and marked it.

Same prop for no reason. Maybe they tried to make an accident with real bullets aka lasers and leave the fake down ;)

Here's a clip from Dagobah to show how radical I'm going with these edits.

Very creative! Subtle and add tension. I dig the idea :)

A few from the start of ANH. Very low res for now. Gonna keep it that way for a while.

Apart some techical parts of the aspect ration (reminds me the imax shots in HD releases that the screen goes fullscreen) I loved R2's antics against the droid. It reminds some of its PT ones (take or leave it).

Im hoping if this edit goes way to radical to do something with the 70s editing.

Im eager to see some previews and your plans from shot to shot in motion.

Do you have any rough cut that can you share to get feedback and ideas from it?

How will be the aesthetic of your edit? The new shots will have motion? 3d motion? Will you film elements and put them in the films? How the editing will be aproached? like 70s or like nowadays?

EDIT: you responed first :P
