Someone on Reddit suggested Luke being a ghost all along in TLJ. I suppose it would make more sense than him killing himself for a distraction without doing any damage he absolutely could do. It doesn’t feel like a necessary change to me, though.

I think TFA should open with the Republic dominant, but divided. There are two major groups within it: those who support the First Order, and those who support the Resistance. That’s why they don’t just send the New Republic fleet to fight the First Order: it’s officially neutral. Think of it like Vietnam. It’s a proxy war, with two great powers fighting through smaller militia. Of course, TFA ends with the Senate destroyed (obviously I’d swap out the superlaser for a dreadnought, but the result is the same), so now it’s open war.
So, uh, The Timeless Children has aired, and, er, what the fuck?
Part 1 sets up this nice Cybermen story and then the Master shows up and derails everything to exposit Chibnall’s teenage fanfic as a long and convoluted way of explaining the Morbius Doctors. Wow.
I really dislike the idea of the New Republic just chilling in the background for three films before coming to the rescue. It lowers the stakes and feels cheap. I still strongly believe a proxy war between two halves of the Republic is the way to go.
I kinda like the idea of Rey walking off into the sunset to do her own thing.

Lucas always hated the idea of vibroblades clashing with lightsabers and the idea seems to have been carried pretty wholeheartedly into modern canon, so it seems very strange they’d do it here.

Just had a look at the scene again and for some unexplained reason, the lightsaber does seem to make contact with one or two of the weapons. Maybe it’ll cleared once we have access to the scene in HD.
Because it’s not centered around the Skywalker family, and I wish Lucasfilm would realize that. It’s not the Skywalker Saga, it’s just the Saga.
I think 3 companions is the max. They’ve just been mishandled. Moffat never had any problem balancing out Amy, Rory, and River. Also, Graham is a fantastic companion and don’t you dare say otherwise.

I’m definitely giving them lightsabers. I feel it’s dumb for them not to have any and it only happen to ape the OT.
I actually really like the breakneck pace, so I think I’ll do fine without deleted scenes, but it’s still really disappointing they have them.
Well the second arc is Ahsoka’s Walkabout, which has never previously been released in any form, so I’d say 2/3 is new. Regardless, I wish they’d just produce all of the remaining arcs. There’s still two seasons’ worth of content on the cutting room floor. Surely that’s not too much to ask for.
No Eleven. Every scene with Eleven up to the point where she appears in Byers’ house was removed.
I mean it makes sense for runtime but at the same time you’re losing by far the best plotline. If anything, I’d rather have a movie just covering El’s story in Season 2.
That’s really bizarre. Usually any movie’s home release has deleted scenes.

So a lot of people have pointed out how there’s no reason for Rey to go back to Tatooine, a place she’s never been where Luke always wanted to leave and Leia was a sex slave, and bury Luke and Leia’s lightsabers. What if instead she went to Jakku and visited the graves of her parents? The scene plays out with much of the same footage, but cutting out the homestead and lightsaber burial.
This was literally planned under Lucas. A series called SW: Underworld. Live-action too. Just wasn’t feasible budget-wise.
My logic is that Vader’s redemption came outta nowhere whereas Kylo’s is set up, so it’s hypocritical to say Kylo couldn’t be redeemed but Vader could be.
Also, I’m pro-Reylo.
