“Oh so it’s a council now? It’s not just the two of you?”
“Oh so it’s a council now? It’s not just the two of you?”
Feature length Galaxy of Adventures? I’d watch it.
Those things are meant to withstand the vacuum of space. Being underwater a few years can’t be good for it, but it’s not impossible it could make the trip.
Han said that in ANH? Man, I don’t know the OT as well as I should.
Episode 5 shows the moment when Anakin realizes that Skywalker is his son, and the film documents his quest to capture him. He is plagued by visions where Luke rejects his offer and throws himself into the bottomless pit, and knows that the future is always in motion. When the pivotal moment is reached, Luke accepts Anakin’s offer and goes with him to the Emperor, and there the Emperor is defeated. However, at that moment Luke turns on Anakin and tries to destroy him. The attempt fails but Luke escapes back to the Rebellion and the Empire devolves into chaos and infighting.
Isn’t that basically TLJ?
Episode 1 would start with teenager Anakin Lars and his brother Owen on Tatooine. Suddenly, they see troop ships descending from the sky, and realize that the evil Separatists have begun invading the planet with their battle droid army. They frantically rush to a nearby spaceport to escape, and on the way bump into two Jedi named Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, who were part of a failed attempt to negotiate with the Separatists. With the help of Anakin’s piloting skills, they escape the Separatist blockade. However, they don’t have enough hyperfuel to warn the Republic capital of the attack, and so they decide to make a pit stop on the beautiful planet of Naboo. There, they meet Padme, the senator of the planet. Padme agrees to help them negotiate once they get to Coruscant, and she joins their crew. However, they end up being attacked by the mysterious Sith warrior Darth Maul, making them realize that the Sith have returned. Once they get to Coruscant, the plot is mostly the same, except with Naboo replaced with Tatooine, and Anakin being more mature since he’s older. The story ends with Anakin destroying the Separatist droid control ship, Qui-Gon being killed by Darth Maul, Obi-Wan seemingly killing Darth Maul, and Obi-Wan reluctantly agreeing to train Anakin.
What does swapping Tatooine and Naboo accomplish, really? I think it was better the other way around.
Hyperspace travel would be relatively slow. Travel between Tatooine and Alderaan (both Outer Rim planets) would take five days along a good hyperlane.
I like that.
It’s like…anime. I like anime, but it’s horrendously rife with “serious moment…then you MUST break the tension with sight gag/dialogue.” I’m betting Rian must be a hardcore anime fan.
Nothing about the humor screams anime to me. If anything, it’s more like live-action blockbusters.
JEDIT: Yes, I obviously mean Marvel films.
It wouldn’t suit the Sequels cuz they’re supposed to be Episodes VII-IX.
Yeah, I agree with the sentiment that the Prequel ignoring is just catering to what they think will sell.
Padme and Obi-Wan are a thing
As the characters exist currently this would feel totally out of character.
Palpatine’s ascension is less “machiavellian 4-D chess” and more “Fascist strongman preys on the weak”
Aww, but Machiavellian 4D chess is so much fun!
Luke and Leia aren’t related
Thank you!
Oh I’d love to see a new saga set 100 years after the current one.
Inspired by this article. Relevant but far more radical video.
So here’s the situation: Lucasfilm has reached to you after being thoroughly impressed by the career film directing you definitely had. Their request? Remake all nine episodes of Star Wars.
Now of course that sounds insane. Blasphemy, surely! And yeah, to an extent, remakes would be redundant. The films have problems, but remaking them might be overkill…or would it be? You decide.
Anyway, you have to chance to take films made by three vastly different teams with different levels of technology where the only consistent part of the story is how much they’re making up as they go along. Thus, a version that’s all planned from the start could look very different.
I’m sure Palpatine wouldn’t appear to be killed in RotJ, and we’d probably only have one Death Star. The OT as a whole would obviously look much more modern. The aesthetic of the Galaxy would probably more consistent, with each trilogy seeming equally different as opposed to the ST being a spitshined OT while the PT does its own thing. Of course, I’d cut Leia being Luke’s sister, but I realize that’s a hot take. Cutting Rey being Palpatine, though, is not.
What makes you say Kennedy’s a Prequel fan? I see no strong evidence one way or another.
I need to get back to that. Went on hiatus just two episodes shy of finishing the whopping 65 episode first season.
Ah, probably not true then.
I was gonna ask you what Shatnerians was, given it looked like autocorrect gone awry, but as it turns out, Neimodians is the first result when you Google the word. Whaddya know.
Furthermore, they were apparently originally named S’hatnarians after William Shatner, but were changed to Neimodians in reference of Leonard Nimoy. Huh.
Ahsoka’s Walkabout as well, and was one of the people who said Han should be replaced with Nyx, and then Lando and Nyx both were replaced by the Martez sisters more recently.
Wookieepedia says Lucas actually ordered it written into the show’s bible that Han be off limits, so that doesn’t quite add up.
Could just play the audio at the start of the movie right before/as it fades into “A long time ago, in a Galaxy far far away.” Have it cut out as those words fade out, then Boom. Star Wars crawl begins.
I could get behind that, given I’m planning on sticking Mustafar and the Palps reveal at the end of TLJ.
He’s actually a professional film director in Spain. Probably got a lot on his plate.
Citation needed. Or is this a joke?
I think just a shot of him ejecting would work. His fate is unknown. He could be dead, he could be alive, but it feels like a mystery and not a distraction.
Would it be possible to add footage of Poe ejecting from the Tie Fighter at the start of TFA? Maybe even footage of him landing or wandering around Jakku? His survival has no business being a surprise and just feels contrived. It’s painfully obvious it was added in reshoots.
Super Mario 64 gets its title from the fact the fact that it’s the 64th entry in the series, as all entries were simply numbered in Japan, including the endless array of spinoffs.
2 Kawaii 4 Comfort is an amazing webseries, and I hope we get that finale soon. I just discovered it a few days ago and binged it all. They just to make the last episode but it’s been three years. They’re still active though, seemingly trying to gain traction after their crowdfunding goal for last episode wasn’t being reached.
Anyway, despite the title, it’s a dead serious look at the insecurities of five anime convention goers. They each get an episode to themselves (except one) and it all ties together very well. I can’t recommend it enough.
Well I’ll certainly a look if anyone comes up with additions or changes to Endor as I love the idea of making any planet more distinct.
He looks like he could play a fairly convincing Anakin.
After Rey hears the voices of Jedi past, she then hears the voices of Jedi present and Jedi future, and starts believing in Life Day.
Reminds me of idea I had for A Christmas Carol starring Vader where he is visited by the Force ghosts of Jedi Past (Obi-Wan), Present (Yoda), and Future (Luke) to show him the error of his ways, leading into his redemption in RotJ. Would conveniently cover all three trilogies, too.
Has anyone thought about trying ways to make Endor more visually interesting? I know George Lucas said he hated how every alien planet in the OT looked like a part of Earth, so I feel like if he had had the resources at the time, he might have made it look more like Felucia with the alien plant life. It would be really hard to make something that consistently CG-heavy, but some color correction and changes to establishing shots would probably be enough to give the impression that it’s not just a regular forest.
Idk, the massive trees feel pretty distinct. Plus Yavin IV aside it’s the OG forest world. That said, a bit of extra flair probably couldn’t hurt.
Has anyone thought about adding a few Yuzzums to Endor with the Ewoks like originally intended?
I feel like they would probably be living apart therefore I don’t see any place where they would fit into the existing film.
