Unusual Sequel Trilogy Radical Redux Ideas Thread

That’s how it played out in the leaked second draft of DotF, and tbh, I don’t like it. It feels weirdly disconnected having the lightsaber on a completely different planet. They move it to the same planet in the next draft iirc.

Regardless, the Battle of Exegol simply does not work without Rey and Ben being there. Them fighting Palpatine is the lynchpin of that entire scene.

LEGO 'Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga' video game thread

LEGO games never have a noteworthy modding scene. I’m gonna go with the Switch version. One thing you might want the PC version for is if you plan on recording or streaming your playthrough. On a first go I’d rather just relax and enjoy it at my own pace. I think I’ll watch each movie before playing it. It’s been 3 years since I’ve seen them. Having the game on Switch means I can play it on the train when I’m not busy with assigned reading.

I can’t help but think that the natural climax of TROS would’ve been the Kylo Ren and Rey duel, where Rey almost kills, then chooses to heal, her mortal enemy.

I take it you’re referring to the Death Star ruins duel? It’s an important scene, yes, but it doesn’t wrap up the story. You need Exegol for that. And if we’re going for parallels, RotJ didn’t just end when Vader killed Palpatine, they still had to blow up the Death Star. Is it as emotionally impactful? No, but it’s still a necessary resolution. The same goes for Exegol. The way I see it, the trilogy’s arc of Rey and Kylo wraps up when Kylo throws away the saber and Exegol is a sort of victory lap.

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place

I really do not appreciate someone starting a PM thread with me to throw accusations, insults, and forum drama from here and elsewhere in my face and then exiting the topic before I can even say one word in response. Total dick move.

Ah that takes me back to Lord Zerome’s thankfully brief stint on here. When he started not one, not two, but three PM threads to insult me, I laughed it off because it was clear from day 1 he’d be banned in no time. I was right.

Your situation sounds like much less of laughing matter. I hope that gets sorted out.

I really love talking about movies, especially Star Wars. I’ve found a few places to chat, but honestly I’m getting closer to just avoiding internet forums altogether. There’s too many hyperbolic pot-stirring trolls who just want incite arguments, arrogant blowhards incredibly proud of their completely subjective opinions, and ignorant misogynistic racist bigots who are intolerant of anyone different than them.

It depends where you go. Centralized platforms like Reddit get a lot of that crap but small indie forums like here tend to be pretty clean, at least in my experience, but it varies.

I admire lego sets but I can’t justify spending $100+ on what I’d like.

That’s exactly why I quit LEGO. I loved it dearly but I couldn’t justify the expense.

Get a bunch of old legos on eBay or something, start putting something together and see where it goes from there.
That’s the great thing about lego, you can built whatever you want and be creative and of something doesnt work out the way you immagined, you change it.

I mean that’s where all the lego memories come from isn’t it? What you remember is sitting on the floor next to a pile of bricks, actually playing with them and not following building instructions… So why would you follow building instructions to get that feeling back?

Yeah, I’ve been thinking for several years the key with LEGO would be return to basics. No licensed themes, no preconceived story, just working with what you have.
