Rogues and Rebels sounds like a Dungeons and Dragons spinoff/knockoff.
Rogues and Rebels sounds like a Dungeons and Dragons spinoff/knockoff.
In terms of setting the mood for a space fantasy, a name like ‘Leia Organa’ is very Space Princess. Luke Skywalker, on the other hand, is quite down to earth while still being a little space-ish. This makes sense when he’s the audience avatar in ANH. When he’s some super magical unicorn space wizard in TFA, putting ‘Luke’ in the crawl still feels to me like he’s a farmboy who hasn’t gotten his Jedi name yet, hence the brother and sister speak.
It also cuts down on the number of terms being name-dropped in the crawl and the potential confusion for first-time viewers of Leia Organa also being a Skywalker also being a Solo.
If new viewers are starting with this one, they’re doing it wrong. It spoils all the twists.
Only Luke’s sister, Leia Organa
has the foresight to mobilize a
covert RESISTANCE. She has
sent her best pilot to find traces
of her lost brother, now her only
hope for a galaxy in peril…I’m not a fan of saying “Luke’s sister” or “her brother” but oh well what do I know. I really like your crawl except for the final paragraph. I’d switch “a galaxy in peril” to “the galaxy” too, but that’s just me.
Personally I don’t like it because I wish they weren’t related in the first place. But hey, this isn’t a RotJ edit.
I think making the film’s title simply the name of the villains (and ones who will show up in the films that follow) is dumb, not to mention out of place in SW titles. But hey, that’s just my opinion.
Have Obi-Wan tell Luke right away when they first meet that Vader is his father.
While what I meant was that he’d say it when they’re at his home, I realize that my suggestion could be interpreted as the reveal being literally the first thing Obi-Wan says when meeting Luke in the Jundland Wastes, which would be genuinely hilarious as opposed to just being a spoiler (although it would still be that too).
Twilight of the Republic may end up being the title of EP3, because it would be more immediate, however a spoiler in the title is sort of dumb. I don’t know.
I don’t see how the fall of the Republic constitutes a spoiler, given everyone knows about it going in.
As for the new thread, the next update will be a complete restart in all but title. Many of my initial promises are completely different now. It will also be a symbolic change, in my personal confidence. The new thread will hopefully have no empty promises.
Empty promises? So far you’ve been exceeding all expectations.
Will you be scrapping all your previous footage?
That reminds me when someone proved that there is such thing as a wrong viewing order.
Why are you so keen on making a new thread?
Given that this is the beginning of the end for the Jedi, shouldn’t it be something like Twilight of Justice? That reminds me, the PT story in Disney Infinty is called Twilight of the Republic, which is pretty neat title.
You’d just need to provide an alternate backstory to Owen and Beru to explain why Luke is left in their care. Honestly, it makes more sense for them to be unrelated to Anakin, given that hiding him with his blood relatives isn’t really hiding him at all. I recommend making Beru Obi-Wan’s sister.
There’s no “Is” in “Dead and Loving It”.
There’s no “Is” in “Dead and Loving It”.
Is it possible? I haven’t seen either story in ages (especially The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End; it’s been around 7 years since I’ve seen it), so I don’t remember the specifics, but could they be combined in a cohesive way? I wouldn’t want to significantly alter continuity so we would still get the meta-crisis, and there’d need to be a time gap for the Doctor to go solo for the Specials beforehand. I just feel like the finality of Journey’s End makes it a fitting end for the Tenth Doctor, rather than dragging out the end of his run for a measly four more stories. Besides, The End of Time is so stuffed with filler that we shouldn’t lose much. Basically, this story would have both the Time Lords and the Daleks returning, so something, something Time War. Maybe the Dalek fleet escapes the Time War through a portal rather than having simply survived it. Once they’ve finally been defeated, the Time Lords show up through that same portal, and we get the ending of The End of Time. This means the whole white point star/drumming link thing would either be dropped or the daleks somehow get through the portal first. The Master could be revived at the start, but he would need to be kept busy while the Dalek invasion takes place.
I think him slaughtering Tusken Raiders is enough going dark for one long movie. It’s explaining what happened to Dooku that would be your problem.
Since Grievous’ll probably be cut anyways, replace him on Utapau with Dooku. Of course, you can’t just rotoscope the whole fight, so cut it. Instead, add Dooku’s solar sailer being shot down in [this] shot, with a reaction shot of him plummeting to his doom. Mix that in with the other shots of clones and droids fighting and you should be good.
When you mentioned a podrace as Anakin’s introduction, I thought it was brilliant. However, the exectution is atrocious. I imagined it would feature Qui-Gon and co. stumbling in and deciding to watch the race. Then, he thinks “Hey this kid’s strong with the Force”.
I don’t think I’ve ever read any constructive criticism from you before.
Are you implying this would be the first instance or this is more of the same?
Personally, I like Dawn of War, but as said earlier, it probably wouldn’t work if the clones don’t show up. Still, if you have Palpatine forming the GAR at the end, it could easily work.
You could’ve at least acknowledged that Splinter of the Mind’s Eye was one of them.

The first installment in a SW trilogy is always lighthearted, and I think it’s for the better.
I was convinced Leia would be in IX via footage from the prior films, and honestly, to an extent, I still am. The film’s still early in development, so despite what KK says, the plan is still likely subject to change. If they don’t include her, it’ll just be one more thing to add to my list of changes to make in my edits. Killing Leia offscreen between films like this is just unacceptable, regardless of Fisher’s death.
Don’t worry, by next year they’ll be writing novels.
You’re speaking as badly as that bot I reported yesterday…
As much as I like the idea of varying the color of lightsabers, Maul is not the one to do it with. The red saber suit him all too well.
Why are you changing Maul’s saber anyways? Is he Dooku’s assassin?
Is that why his grammar was so awful?
