If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place
Time

The USA really isn’t all that bad. Yes it has serious issues (such as the whole abortion issue), but it’s still a decent country. It is in NO way a “shithole”. Be glad you’re not living in North Korea.

This. I don’t “like” the US per say but it’s frankly ludicrous when people claim Donald Trump or whoever candidate/president they hate is a literal dictator bringing about the end of democracy in America. These people have no sense of perspective.

Anyway, the rant I came here to make now. You ever just watch an entire show assuming it was new and that a second season was coming only to look it up and find out the first season came out two years ago and the creator’s now working on something else for Marvel? It ended on a cliffhanger too. Onyx Equinox feels like The Dark Crystal all over again in that regard.

I’m kind of surprised both you and Rogue seem to think the scientist idea clashes with Rey Nobody. In the grand scheme of things, some clone scientist and his family would be nobody compared to legends such as the Skywalkers and the Palpatines.

The issue is that that would mean her parents were actually of a noble cause and not total drunkards who never amounted to anything. They’re still basically nobody but they’re a good nobody instead of a bad nobody. That’s the difference.

This is one of my top desires for a ST edit. I think it would be cool if Kylo received a vision from the Vader helmet in TFA that clarified his motivation to turn to the dark side. But you also could place Kylo touching Vader’s helmet in TROS at the beginning of that film, and give him a vision there where Vader speaks to him and shows him the way to the Wayfinder.

Right before Palpatine’s reveal would be too late to introduce the concept, so while you can use it there (and in fact it would be good to have as a refresher before the reveal), it’s essentially we introduce the concept much sooner when Kylo speaks to Vader’s helmet in TFA. Funnily enough, this would add another one of JJ Abrams’s beloved mystery boxes but this time it would actually have a fulfilling answer planned out.

The helmet doesn’t appear in TLJ, but you could reutilize footage from TFA or TRoS to add a scene with it. The scene in TFA has Kylo wearing his helmet meaning you could dub him to say just about anything, but it would need to occur before his meeting with Snoke since he destroys his helmet after that. The scene in TRoS just has him touching the helmet with his mask off, not saying a word, so probably not worth trying to reuse.

Star Wars Rebels Recut - A Fanedit TV Series

Have you considered combining certain episodes? A 13 minute episode is a little silly, especially coming off the back of a 40 minute one. I don’t remember the individual plots so I don’t know how well it would work so I won’t give specific recommendations. That said, don’t be afraid to mix and match the order if there’s no plot points that reordering would mess up.

To make Snoke more clearly separate from Palpatine, but serving him, you could change Palpatine’s line in TROS from “I made Snoke” to “I trained Snoke”.
Then the next line could just be “I have been every voice [Vader voice] inside your head.”

I’ve actually already done that. I left Snoke’s voice in since that moment lands much better with three voices and I don’t see any plot holes that would create. Just because Snoke and Palpy are working together doesn’t mean Palpy can’t impersonate Snoke on occasion to manipulate Kylo.

I love the idea of the destruction of Hosnian being a mass sacrifice to resurrect Palpatine. It’s so sinister and dramatic! Reminds me of when I wrote backstory to his resurrection where he drained the life force of Ewoks and Gungans.

A line could be potentially added of one of the cultists saying something to clarify that a sacrifice or ritual is being performed, without revealing who we are seeing.

Maybe it’d be good if Snoke was the one to say it. That plus the line about training him would really clarify the relationship between the two (master and apprentice).

I think Sasquatch’s idea about Rey’s father being a Sith scientist who ran away is great, but I still prefer Rey nobody, so I’m gonna have to agree with RogueLeader here.

I think something that would really help in regards to setting up Palpatine is having Vader’s helmet actually speak to Kylo, which would get paid off by the “every voice” line. I’m sure it’s been done several times over by now, just gotta dig up the best version.

Getting back on topic and away from real world homocide, I don’t get why people think time dilation is necessary to explain TESB’s timeline. The Falcon’s trip probably last a long time, long enough for Luke to train up, and more importantly, his training seems pretty negligible, going by his performance against Vader. That is exactly the sort of results you’d expect from a student who only trained somewhere between two days and a month. Vader’s toying with him and still demolishing him.

Everything NeverarGreat just said is why I absolutely hate the opening line of TLJ “The First Order reigns.” Also hate when Rey says “The First Order will control all major systems within weeks.” That shit is insulting to the viewer’s intelligence.

I think what works best is a situation where the Republic was too divided to be effective (like the UN, actually, connecting to your analogy) and the Resistance and First Order are already fighting anyway. Destroying the Senate won’t annihilate the entire Republic, it just renders an already inneffective government even more helpless. The Republic’s destruction here would be treated as more of a formality. What were they gonna do, sanction the First Order? It’s really just like the UN in my scenario.

I could get on board with a Favreau-Filoni Special Edition of the Saga. Free, or ‘free’ on Disney+. A shame it would never happen, but would be interesting to see.

You live up to your username, but I have zero interest in such a thing. They seem more concerned with fanwankery than anything else.
