Perhaps that last line reflects Luke’s idea that the Force has done more harm than good and perhaps wishes it would die off.

Thanks for your reply Alex. I have .VOB files of the movie. Just the same single audio and video source. The sync looks good in the .VOB files but the video is distorted and needs some cropping and other work, plus I want to do a fan edit as well. When I import into my editing software, Premiere Pro, the sync is inconsistent…it varies without rhyme or reason from watchable to distracting. When I slow down and inspect frame by frame, usually the audio leads the video by a few frames. When I export, the opposite is actually happening. The audio lags the video even more noticeably.
As I have already said, the simple thing is that OOT release is just not profitable enough for them to care. While it might bring millions, that is still a change compared to billions they are making with other stuff.
This isn’t the reason at all.
George Lucas is … still … the reason why we don’t have an official OOT. Disney could give it to us any time they want, but they have obviously told us all to **** off and keep paying for their shit movies.

I haven’t done a restoration project of this magnitude before, and I’m having a lot of difficulty with sensitivity to the A/V sync. The audio is definitely leading the video (not by much) but it feels inconsistent and it’s driving me insane.
I’m really hoping that I don’t have to go back and correct the audio scene-by-scene for an almost 10 hour miniseries. I’ve tried lagging the audio by a frame or two, which sometimes helps, and sometimes still feels off. And I’ve tried lagging the audio by as many as 10 frames, where it is clearly behind the video. Nothing seems to work.
Does anyone have experiencing syncing A/V with only one audio source?

Someone here at one point speculated that some of the most pointless 2011 changes might have been done with 3D in mind.

(maybe the sparks in ESB?).Compositing in new items on a different plane makes for easy things that can be forced to ‘pop’ in 3D.
It’s also been pointed out to me that some of the audio changes were done because LFL lost the originals or the original audio had been damaged. Luke’s changed dialogue to R2 in Empire Strikes Back being one of the examples.
They all suck and critically mar each film. Hard to argue that any of them are better than the others.

At least in this case, I heard more or less the same thing coming from Clinton as you. It’s the thought that Trump is less of a warmonger hell-bent on money and power causing the head-scratching around here.
Trump has often contradicted himself on this. He has said we should stay out of other countries, but he’s also said we should bomb people and take their natural resources.
When people contradict themselves, it shows they just don’t give a damn. Hillary famously had her “public and private” positions, depending on who she was speaking to. Trump changes his mind depending on which advisor has been kissing his ass more and flattering him lately.
They are both terrible, terrible people.

The worst thing about TFA is not that it is a rehash per se. The worst thing is that its sotryline is a complete shit.
In a good plot, elements naturally lead from one to another, are indispensable with respect to each other and (most importantly) all have a strong connection to the plot objective. On the other hand, TFA shitty “plot” is just a combination of random elements completely unrelated to the plot objective (i.e. search for Luke).
Nevertheless, the fact that they put so many unrelated rehash elements into the film played a major role in storyline becoming a disjointed unrelated pile of crap.
Whenever he discovered the theme or premise for his screenplay, Paddy Chayefsky used to write it down on a piece of paper and tape it on his typewriter, so that nothing he ever typed wouldn’t reinforce that central idea of what his story was all about.

It would be wonderful if Disney or LFL responded, but I think the odds are much less than 3,720 to 1.
