Still, what is so wrong with a films starring someone of his age playing an older character? Aging is a natural part of life (pun intended). We would assume that Indy would have gotten older, and we know that he does, as seen in the Young Indy Chronicles, where we see a 93 year old jones, and once even saw Ford playing a fifty year old Jones in the series. The grail apparently didn't have the "eternal life" effect on him.

Well, if George Hall can play Indy at 93, then I believe Harrison Ford can at 63.

Why Leia remembers Padme but Luke doesn't
Time
I just checked the ROTJ novelization. Here is what it says regarding the subject:
___________________________________________________________________________________

He looked down at their intertwined fingers. "Leia... do you remember your mother? Your real mother?

The question took her totally by surprise. She'd always felt so close to her adopted parents, it was as if they were her real parents. She almost never thought of her real mother - that was like a dream.

Yet now Luke's question made her start. Flashes from her infancy assaulted her. - distorted visions of running... a beautiful woman... hiding in a trunk. The fragments suddenly threatened to flood her with emotion.

"Yes," she said, pausing to regain her composure. "Just a little bit. She died when I was very young."

"What do you remember?" he pressed. "Tell me."

"Just feelings, really... images." She wanted to let it slide, it was so out of the blue, so far from her immediate concerns... but somehow so loud inside, all of a sudden.

"Tell me," Luke repeated.

She felt surprised by his insistence, but decided to follow him with it, at least for the time being. She trusted him, even when he frightened her. "She was very beautiful," Leia remembered aloud. "Gentle and kind - but sad." She l;ooked deeply into his eyes, seeking his intentions. "Why are you asking me this?"

He turned away, peering back up at the Death Star, as if he'd been on the verge of opening up; then something scared him, and he pulled it all in once more. "I have no memory of my mother," he claimed. "I never knew her."

Hmm. This proves to me that at least Lucas had in mind that Luke and Leia were still infants when Padme died. Yet the circumstances surrounding it are different in the novel. It makes me wonder if these different circumstances were simply the invention of James Kahn, the author of the novelization, or were given to the author by Lucas himself, as he has done on the prequel novelizations.

It seems to me that they understand the expectations of everyone, which is why they keep refusing scripts until Lucas and Spieldberg and Ford are all three happy. I mean, you've got Jeff Nathanson, writing the script, Lucas, with his great story ideas, Spielberg to keep Lucas calm and keep the film of a good quality, and Ford, who knows his character very well. Those four combined should make for a great script. If they all do their work well and agree on a good script, I think it should do fine. And I know Lucas will insist on at least some CG, but I'm sure Spielberg will keep it to a minimum.

And what's this shit people keep saying about Ford being too old?!? Harrison Ford is NOT too old. I just don't get these morons who expect every single actor to look young and laugh at the idea of an older person in a role. Do you know what Ford said when someone asked him what he would do if Lucas and Spielberg replaced him as Indy? He said, half joking "First off, I won't be replaced as Indy. But if they did, first I'd tell them to go fuck themselves, then I would kill them."
