Digital transfer of TPM?

I realy, REALY hope so! Rob Coleman confirmed at the ROTS DVD press event that they had already replaced the puppet Yoda with the CG one for TPM, so I guess a digital transfer would follow. Yeah, the curent transfer does have a lot of flaws, which show up painfuly when viewed on a plasma TV. The edge enhancement is horible, there are specks of dirt, a small but visible amount of grain, etc. It's quite interesting that ANH has a beter tranfer to DVD than TPM does. But I'm sure they'l get John Lowry to do "the process" on it for the 2007 archival editions.

Well, here in the US, everyone seems to be worried about everyone else. The censors and the rest of the conservatives wish to control what everyone sees, rather than letting the idivduals CHOOSE. Hmm, who's the "dirty commie bastards" now?

I mean, we're talking about the country who allows their dim-witted president to spy on them all in the name of "freedom." Ugh.

I was hoping you might get the reference, but apparently not. I was referring to a blooper from ESB, which was seen in the Empire of Dreams documentary, where Mark Hamill has to reach in and grab the snake out of the X-Wing, and when he reaches in, the snake bites him. He replies "The fucking thing bit me!"

Here are the changes I would like made to the PT:

TPM: Replace the puppet Yoda with CG Yoda (which has been confirmed that they have done).

AOTC: Restore the scenes in Padme's parents' house, as they not only add depth to the overall story of AOTC, but they also strengthen Padme's story, the love story, not to mention they let you know who the hell that man and woman are at Padme's funeral in ROTS!

ROTS: Restore scene of Yoda landing on Dagobah and restore all of the Rebel Alliance scenes. (Rick McCallum hinted around at the Dagobah scene being restored)

I can't stand the censors. They think they know what's best for people and think they should moderate everything people see, while in reality, people can make up THEIR OWN minds whether or not they want to watch something. It is not the job of a group to decide what everyone else needs to see.

It might work. I for one think it would be cool and a nice way to tie the two trilogies together. Yeah, there are those who say "Well, the stormtroopers are cloned from a different person." But, as close as Vader was to Fett, he could have cloned him, or one of the last of the clonetroopers..

1. You sat through all 3 in the cinema - TPM once, AOTC three times, and ROTS six times.

2. You own them all on DVD - Of course, right beside the OT on DVD.

3. You think they help the Saga - In most ways, but not all.

4. You keep the Lucas versions as the real thing and not fan edits - The Lucas versions are the ones that I consider "the story," but I watch the others occasionally for comparison.

5. You dont mind Jar Jar - He's OK. Not great, but OK.

6. You think it was cool to see how 3P0 evolved - Yes, and the Clone Wars series helped that.

7. You would defend Hyden in the same way you would Mark - Nope, they are both mediocre actors. Like father, like son.

8. You realise Plot holes exisit only becuase they enable other things in happen as Lucas wanted - That's true, but that still is no excuse to fuck up parts of the ALREADY ESTABLISHED story.

9. You would pick the PT over the HS - That is too difficult of a question for me.

10. You have a ton of PT stuff - Not really. I only focus on the films and books.

11. You think Darth Maul is kick ass - Yep.

12. You dont mind seeing Famous people in Star wars, seeing as they do a good job at acting - IF they do a good job at acting.

13. You watched the Clone Wars Cartoon - Of course.

14. You are looking forward to seeing the TV show - YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15. You hope there will be no PT:SE - Actually, I would LOVE to see a PT:SE.
